Not like they should get friendly or comfortable with it, but it's not intentionally going out of it's way to harm people because it's bored. You're more likely to find more malicious intent in a common household cat than in a wild bear.

I like how Barney manages to stay conscious for way longer than a full-grown bear after being shot with animal tranquilizer. Dude has some serious tolerance.

Like if somebody helped another person commit murder, they would be an 'accessory to murder'. It means that you weren't the person who directly committed the crime, but you knowingly assisted the criminal in committing the crime.

@@sgtpepper91 I suck at explaining jokes, but I'll try. This joke is layered in 3 parts. The first is that Moe claims these bears are smarter than average and capable of stealing- which is doubtful, plus it's coming from someone like Moe, so most likely he's just bullshitting. The 2nd part is that *it* *actually* *is* *true* because it was Quimby who stole it lol. The last layer is that Quimby, who is obviously quite rich from corroption and what not, has no reason to take a simpleton's picnic basket because he could simply buy something similar. So Quimby did it out of spite or evilness lol or stupidity who knows...

Based on what? All of your six years of Simpsons viewing? Son, I've been watching the Simpsons since it first aired, and I've seen all the characters develop over all that time. Lisa was originally amusing in the cartoon sketches in the Tracey Ullman Show; Then when The Simpsons spun off into its own show, Lisa was written as "the good child" opposite to Bart's "bad child", and that would be her defining role for years, until the writers started to make Lisa manic and quirky. Lisa has been given interesting character traits and flaws and is no longer "Little Miss Perfect". She doesn't just have all the answers anymore. Lisa can make mistakes, misjudge something, she can be conceited, neurotic, obsessive, she's prone to panic attacks and will even cross lines to protect her image and reputation. And despite all this, she still has more moral fiber than her family and believes in a better future for everyone.

JanetFunkYeah I've been watching it my entire life bud. Lisa has become nothing but self-parody. She was shown to be very flawed in the early years of the show as well. Every single trait you mentioned was denonstrated best in the first 8 seasons, before her character became little more than a political mouthpiece. And unless you're living on another planet you can't honestly say she's more realistic in newer episodes

Wish the vid had the scene where homer mentions where he got the chant from. Though that would explain the joke of it.

It wasn't the upsloader. This is a TV recording. And the channel removed some scenes for time, I suppose.

The writing back then was absolutely golden! Every other line was relevant and funny!

I think "looks like bad news for the.... Impson family!" is one of the greatest jokes full stop. Not just in The Simpsons, but in every piece of media I've ever consumed. Dan really sells it. Whoever came up with the joke should win the $10,000!

3:36 I love Lisa's sales pitch with this rock, and how easily she convinces Homer, an averagely intelligent adult man of 30 years her senior. This more than anything else convinces me that she will most likely become Springfield's Mister Burns when she is grown, all be it a more green environmentally friendly Mr Burns. Hale Lisa!

The fact that Barney stumbles around and drinks the rest of the tranquilizer for so long, yet an actual brown/grizzly bear gets knocked straight out instantly... That bear's a lightweight. Barney's been training his body for years! This is peak male performance!

Kent's lines are some of the most Conan Obrien sounding jokes I've ever heard, it's almost like he wrote for the show or something.

The funniest part of this to me is thar Brockman's advice to just chill out indoors until the specialists can show up and move the animal out of town safely is completely correct. That moment of competence makes everything surrounding it funnier.

I love how barney and the bears tranquilized expressions are pretty much the same like they're brothers passed out at a frat party

"That's the home owner tax." Gets me laughing so hard every time.

I like how the tranquilliser takes down a 31 stone bear in mere seconds, but takes a bit longer on Barney.

I think this is without a doubt the best 4 minutes of the Simpson’s ever. A joke or punchline every 5 seconds, creative writing, attention to detail etc

The most calm bear in USA.

I actually use the "Country Bear Jamboroo" line pretty frequently. It is useful in a surprisingly wide variety of situations.
