This is Bear mountain New York State Park, where the Appalachian trail goes through. This trail covers 14 states, from Springer Mountain Georgia and ends at Mount Katahdin, Maine. This is one of the New York tourist attraction. Bear Mountain is a marvelous state park of New York with a suitable environment for recreation and tourists to visit.

We loved our hike and a picnic at Bear Mountain. It's so beautiful out there. Great video!
I'm originally from the Bronx, NY and when I was little we used to picnic up at Bear Mtn and go swimming in Anthony Wayne pool. Have been back to NY but not to the state park since I was a kid. I live now about a couple of hours from where the Appalachian Trail ends to the north at Mount Katahdin, Maine.
They even sell beer up there!

Hi friends, it would be great to know your comments about this tourist attraction in New York State. This place has a 1 hour 15 min drive from Manhattan, New York City. Visitors enjoy hiking, pedal boat ride, barbecue and pleasant beauty of nature.🙂

Hi Steph, Dogs are allowed and should be leashed. But, they are not allowed inside the zoo, picnic area, and buildings.

Actually, the Appalachian Trail goes all the way up to Mount Katahdin in Maine - it does not end here! But Bear Mountain Park is beautiful. They have a very large old hotel -you can see it in the background at 1:46 - and ice skating in the winter.

Hi Mary, thank you for your valuable information. Its a long distance, I have heard that travelers hike for weeks and months to explore the beauty along the way. I am excited to go back and enjoy the ice skating. :)
