Director's note:
When I asked Anna for her thoughts on this track, she explained the overall sentiment is a call to put our differences aside in an effort to better understand one another. A practice in humility. The words began to resonate with me while arranging images for this video. I chose fire because it's close to heart and largely what I've been looking at lately. The practice requires awareness, patience, teamwork, and communication. It is regenerative. A mitigator. A way to maintain. It points to life.
The bouncing waveforms you see coupled with the moving images is a tool used for color grading. I found the visual to be uncanny. It seemed to embody an elemental read under the surface, without projection, an egoless sensor, receptor of life. The kaleidoscopic footage is a symbol for how one's thoughts can split off and multiply, unclear in a narrow, vignetted scope. These parts are running simultaneously. What we sense, what we experience, what we perceive.
