@@topi.s Huh for me it's the exact opposite. I cannot drive at all with a keyboard. But I'm pretty good with a wheel. This goes with most racing games, not just beamng though.

From what I have learned in Track Mania, when you think you are pretty good consistently beating the game's top medals, you are still very very far away from making wr:s. They are more insane the more popular the game is. I have one national record there and the pros would beat it with their hands tied, if they wanted to :D

BeamNG's tire model has significantly improved lately. It's more realistic than any rally or other simulation racing game out there and I think it can be compared to richard burns rally. The fact that the cars seem to be floating or sliding a lot is because the camera doesnt rotate with the car, when the car steers. This gives the false impression that the ground is closer to ice than gravel/asphalt. However, if you go to front view camera, or cockpit, you will get a very different realistic impression.

We love the destruction physics in this game so much we forget how fun an experience driving can be. I love crashes, but some of my fondest memories of this game are just driving like a maniac thru West Coast.

I was blown away by the open world maps. They're amazing. I bought the game thinking it was basically a tech demo, only to find out there are whole cities with working traffic, entire islands and coastlines with villages etc. I wish the modding system was a bit less confusing to navigate, had a better search function, but apart from that it's amazing.

I’ve been recently just been playing this game because of the rally cross stuff you can do in the game. It is awesome and practicing is fun because you can see what it would be like if you make a mistake.

i just tried this rally track for hours and watching this now makes me cry

My best is 1:53.1 atm. I know there are some corners that I could do better on. Now I have a challenge!

Rally drivers will always be motorsport legends imo. They don't have a purpose-built race track, race cars, safety runoffs and walls. For them the track can be dusty, muddy, wet, icy, snowy, anything. Make a single, tiny mistake? You've got trees, rocks, cliffs, and people on most turns. All of that and they still drive on the absolute limit. Skating over the track, going sideways through the corners. Absolutely insane.

Then it doesn't count. It's good time, but times vary depending on the direction of the track. In order to qualify for it on ILS it's need to be one lap, default beam cars, and going the original direction

I believe now that with the new physics updates the water crossings slow down the car significantly more than they used to, (as shown in this video the car seems to skate over the water or just dip the rear end into it) making this record almost impossible to beat! Unless i am missing some forbidden tuning technique, or by hitting a certain lump in the track you can skate over the water. Im very interested in seeing if the change in physics is the cause, or if im just trash.

dope, you should try to regain top 10, best run was top 13 but im lowering some times down to 1:40 flat. ditch the stock beam rally car and tune it a bit, (2.5L I5 swap, stage 3 turbo, with 200-250kW of nos is best for speed) and you for sure can get back into top 10
