Hi, I have just bough the wand. After having had a go I burnt my face and fingers😢😢. I had decided to try and sell on, but after seeing your video you gave me the courage to have another go at using my wand. My hair is slightly longer than yours. I’m so glad I’m getting used to using it now. Perseverance is the answer. Look forward to more tips from you.😊😊 a Annie from Suffolk in U.K.

Annie, your comment really made my day! It means so much that you liked my video and found it helpful! 🥰I burned my fingers a few times with the wand and now I wear the glove that it comes with because no matter how comfortable I am using it I still burn my fingers at least one time each time I use it if I don't put on the glove.😂 I agree with you perseverance is the answer. Thank you so much for your sweet comment and welcome to my channel. ☺

I always tried to get this look but for me it never worked with a curling iron. It would always turn out looking off and had kinks in it, but when I used this wand it actually worked. It took some getting used to when it came to using the wand but once I figured it out it was really easy. Let me know how it works for you. 😊 thank you so much for watching my video.

thanks Cristina, I'm thinking about buying this product and wanted an honest review. It also does help that I have a similar hair type 👍

It’s pricey but honestly it’s worth it. I would recommend putting some hairspray once you are done so the curls get a bit more lasting power, but I really love this product. Thank you so much for watching my video and for your comment. 😊

Fellow paranoid here, what I do is leave my curing wand (or straightener) on the stove before I leave the house. Alternatively, once you've turned it off and unplugged it, take a quite picture of it (that way you have 'proof' that you unplugged it). Thanks for the video, pretty result. :)

I love both ideas, especially the picture idea, because I feel like that will be a good reminder that I unplugged it and this will provide peace of mind. Thank you so much for sharing. 😊

Great video. Where did you purchase your styling glove?

Thank you very much. The styling glove actually came with the wand so that was a nice surprise. You can buy the glove on the ghd website www.ghdhair.com/curling-wands/heat-resistant-glove-p-299, or Amazon has a few options. Thank you for watching my video and for your lovely comment.

Thanks Cristina!! Can I ask...how do you find this with yellowing the hair? Your hair looks so beautiful and nice and cool toned. I use a heat protectant and find the wand I use now (not ghd) still gives my hair that yellow tinge. Any thoughts on the ghd about this??

I agree that using heat to style color treated hair can dull or change the color. I find that what has worked for me is not using heat as often on my hair, I try to only use my want/flat iron/blow-dryer 2 times per week maximum. When I use a flat iron or the ghd wand I make sure to take smaller pieces of hair so that I can style it faster without applying heat for too long to each section. Because any sort of high heat styling tool can make hair dry out and fade the hair color (even the ghd wand). I also use a purple shampoo once per week which I find makes a huge difference in my hair, I will make a video soon on what I do to prevent my hair from getting brassy. I know another option is using something like the Dyson hair dryer but honestly that is too expensive for me. 🙂

Hi Cristina and thanks so much for the quick reply. I limit my hot tools to about 1-2 times per week as well. I'll be changing to the ghd tool soon as it looks a lot gentler; I'm using the MUK stick which has a SS barrel (hot) and I'll wait for your new video bc I want to know about the purple shampoo. I'm finding it hard to locate a good Purple Shampoo that won't damage the hair shaft. I've purchased a Purple Shampoo called "Cool Down" for human hair extensions so I may try that out.@@thecristinamaria

Have you ever tried the Dyson or Shark air wrap?

  • @thecristinamaria

    @thecristinamaria

No I haven’t tried them. The Shark air wrap is less expensive and seems to have good reviews. When reading the reviews for both they seem quite good and I’m sure better for your hair since they use less heat. I just haven’t been able to commit to purchasing either because of the really steep price tag. Have you tried either?

How long do the curls stay before needing to be touched up?

  • @thecristinamaria

For me they last about 2 days, but by the second day (after sleeping on them) they are much looser (more of a beach wave look which I really like). But when I do touch them up I only keep the hair wrapped around the wand for 5 seconds max just because I don’t want to dry my hair out more with the heat. 😊

I’me really undecided between this one, the classic wand or the soft tong 😅

  • @thecristinamaria

I also had to do some research to figure out what the difference between them is. The GHD classic wave wand is easier to use and gives you a looser, softer, more undone curl because of its oval shape; the Creative Curl Tapered Wand which is the one I reviewed gives you a more beachy, lived-in curl and texture due to it's cone-like shape; the GHD soft curl tong gives curls with lots of body and volume, the tong helps give the hair a pressed polished look (this one is great for someone with more curly or textured hair); lastly the GHD classic curl tong gives you tighter old Hollywood curls and this on also gives the hair a polished look because of the tong. For me I like the more lived-in beachy waves so that's why I picked the the creative curl tapered wand. Let me know if this helps. 🙂
