Beachcombing For Stars + St Cuthberts Beads. Fossil Hunting!
This week we are fossil hunting in Boggle Hole on the Yorkshire coast. We went beachcombing for star shaped Crinoids and circular St Cuthberts beads. We talk about the mythology behind both the fossils and Boggle Hole itself. Come with us looking for stars and a Boggle or two!

I have found many of the ones you mentioned in America. I found some by the Mississippi River and most in my sister's drive way. Some are hollow and are strung like St. Cuthbert's. They were used as currency by the Native Americans. I have jars and jars of them. Some are as big as my thumb and I have one on a piece of cello tape because it is so small. They are the petrified stem of water lilies that grew in the area millions of years ago.

I could have watched this for hours , love what all y'all find on those gorgeous beaches . Can't wait to see the jewelry you make from those stars .
When I lived in Japan, one of my students gave me a small jar of "sand" from Hoshizuna no Hama (Star Sand Beach). They, too, are fossils shaped like stars, however much smaller than yours. There are myths related to these sea creatures as well ⭐

Those beautiful fossils would make a beautiful ring setting. Great video girls, and Thomas.
Don’t mind the Monday, something to look forward to at the beginning of the week….❤️
The star by itself reminds me of a chocolate that I had when I was younger Brach’s. It’s so great you all go and mudlark together and enjoy it.

I remember those too. We loved putting them on top of our warm peanut butter cookies. Yummy memories.
I love these adventurers. Fossils, sea glass, a walk along the beach, Oscar's smiling face. The best. A wonderful family adventure. The scenic aerial views. Wow. And it doesn't matter to me when you post. Every single time is an absolute treat. And notifications lets me know when you do, so I never miss out. I wish we'd had more time on that last beach. So many treasures. Maybe you can return there one day and film again. Thanks as always for a charming treasure hunt with your family. xo

Loved the Monday video. Hey Oscar, long time no see.
Kate and Fleur all I can say is WOW what a truly MAGICAL place! Just watching this episode reminds me of one of my favorite all time books entitled Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier. It a fictional story based on the real life of Mary Anning the English fossil collector, dealer, and paleontologist. The book is BRILLIANT and I have read it several times as well as downloaded the Audio Book. If you are unfamiliar with Mary Anning, her discoveries, work, and how she made history I would highly recommend checking her out. I think Remarkable Creatures is a book you both might enjoy as you have such a love for both fossils and history. Thank you SOOO MUCH for this wonderful episode, it was absolutely worth the wait. To hold one of these magical fossils in ones hands is an experience of a lifetime. Blessings Ro

Loved this video! Such interesting fossils! I'm really looking forward to Mondays with you! Thank you for taking us along. Greetings from Michigan 🐦🇺🇸
The drone footage gets better and better. @0:52 Kate, that is quartz. In your search for Dragon Glass at the Bay, you found some magnificent Boaty Blues and lovely pieces of Sea Glass @24:51 and @25:01. That piece @26:22 and @26:26 is very close to Dragon -- like a scale, as you said. Next time at the Bay, you'll find the one you are looking for. Fleur, that is a treacherous path, don't blame you for not risking it. Another wonderful video with music and atmosphere -- Yay for Monday videos!

You visit some wonderful places.
