Hey Brian, it has been slow and cold (relatively speaking for Floridians) out on the beach lately. We get a nice warm day, but then too much rain. Non-rainy days are cold. Love how it flips from day to day! Still a fair day our for you with what was available! As soon as you get your car fixed up, the weather warms up, I expect we'll all start finding more! Late Happy New Year and we'll run into you on the beach!

Hi Brian. I’m amazed by how tiny of a target you found . It’s fun watching you out there I’ve got to say . We here in Illinois got 3 inches of snow and now it’s only 6 degrees. We’ve been in the single digits except for yesterday it hit 27 . And then the snow came and it’s cold again . Wind chills have been in the double digits also one day it was minus 22 with wind chill. Hi Verette , the cold has been bad up north this year. Its been a bit cold here as well. Spring will be here before you know it . Then we get back to the 100 degree days and thunder storms . I left the north when I was 18. Been here 45 years . I don't miss northern winters . Stay warm and thanks for watching .

This is why I personally bundle up at the beaches when detecting. Rather be too hot than too cold.

Hi Marlene , this time of year not many people even go down to the beach. Water is too cold to swim but on a nice day some people do go down to set some sun . Its just been cold and wet here the last few weeks. It will turn around soon . Thanks for watching .

Hi Timmy I feel for you . Winter up north is no joke. I don't miss it at all. I have been in Florida 45 years. It does get very hot and humid in the summer months , but I will take that over the cold northern winter . Hope the snow melts for you. Thanks for watching .

Hi Brian! Seems like all the little tiny stuff is getting found. I’ve found about a dozen little charms since New Years and some small earrings. Got lucky and one earring was gold and diamonds. Found a Mercury dime the first week of the year. Keep swinging and fingers crossed for those fat, gold rings.

Sorry you haven't got your car running yet I finally got all the parts I needed to get my old Range Rover back up and going, it took me a week to put her back together. The first time I took the Manicore to the beach I dug a 925 ear ring back it rang as a 7 I had a heck of a time finding it, our west coast sand is coarser than Florida sand finally got it with the pin pointer that I usually don't take to the beach. I am amazed at the tiny things this machine sees. good luck on finding gold it will come

Hi Steve , the Manticore is an amazing machine. I keep a pin pointer on my belt but don't often use it on the beach. Little blue should make it in the shop soon. Its been a month so far. My mechanic stays busy and he had a Chevy Blazer on the lift and could not get the suspension part he needed . It gone now so it won't be long . (I hope) lol Thanks for watching .

Some of that stuff looks really good when it first comes out. I was hoping for gold!

Hello from a cold and snowy friend. I did enjoy the video. I’m a Minelab user myself. I go to the doctor Monday about my knee. I think replacement surgery will help. If so I’m getting the Manticore. Stay safe my friend and at least it’s not snowing

It’s nuts the small targets the manticore gobbles up. And it’s not like a real soft hit either, loud and clear sounds on them. To be honest I’m quite impressed and think the manticore is ahead of the other companies. Bummer ok the car. Never fun to wait. Good luck out there!

Your braver than me Brian. I don`t do barefoot detecting on the beach in hot weather let alone cold weather. What`s it been about 9 months since your last decent gold find? So what`s wrong with your engine? I believe that`s what what you said was the problem a few video`s ago. Nothing but rain here on the gulf.7.2 inches in two hours a few nights ago. Better than 5 inches of snow and single digits and teens in Ohio. Good luck and I hope you find gold soon. Your a trooper.

Hi Rick , on the finds , the lost hurricane sand has been washing back in since last June. That's when my last gold was found. All summer the sand just buried things about as fast as people lost it. This summer should be more normal . My car seems to have a broken piston ring in one cylinder. The compression is low unless we put some oil in the cylinder. The car overall is much better than it looks. Over the last year or so it has all new struts , axles , steering rack , radiator , cylinder head and valves, timing belt , distributor , ECU computer , alternator , fuel pump , ignition wires . The replacement parts have lifetime guarantee so when they go bad I put new ones on. The parts are free so its just the labor . Its 32 years old now. I expect the transmission to be the next big fix. Not much else left . It has 200,000 miles on it. Much better than my old truck with 400,000 miles. The brake lines on the truck look rusty so I have not been using it on the road. Wow! My Equinox is only 16yrs old with 175,000mi. Still running strong. The only thing out side of the usual roadwear has been a heater core,egr valve twice. But I`ve changed all fluids including brake fluid two times. I put castrol synthetic motor oil in it. brakes batteries etc etc but nothing major. YET! She`s treated me good. But I treat her good. Good luck and tell that Manticore to find you some gold.

🧐Itty bitty lol . Spend a lot of time looking for those. I carry a cheep dollar store plastic scoop just for those. And use a pinpointer. They can get very aggravating.

Hi JJ , most of the time I hunt from a mile north of the pier or a mile south of the pier and head to the pier. That's the area with the most beach goers . I do sometimes go to other beaches but they are not as busy . Since the hurricanes the beaches have not been the same . Ormond beach was a good beach before the storms but has not bounced back yet due to the stairs being washed away. This next summer season should be much better. Thanks for watching .

Brian I see your manticore seems to be finding allot of very small stuff more so than the Nox 800 ? So tell us your impressions comparing the two on the beaches and in the parks ?

Hi John, the Equinox is a great machine but I think the Manticore is more sensitive to tiny targets. I also think the Manticore has a bit more depth . I also like the 2D screen on the Manticore very much. The only thing I didn't like on the Manticore was the grooves in the hand grip. They fill with sand and if you clean your hand off the first time you grab the hand grip you get more sand. I wrapped my hand grip with self fusing silicone tape. Problem solved and it has a good feel. The Manticore is also easy to navigate the screens. I like it very much. Thanks for watching .

Hi No No , my dig handle started out much higher on my scoop handle . There are times it would be nice to have one higher for pulling the scoop out of a deep holes , but it was always more in my way then helpful . It ended up down low and works great for shaking out the scoop . Thanks for watching .

You keep digging in front of the target the center of the coil is where you have to dig not where the front of it is

Hi David , I back up the coil and when I first start to hear the target it is right in front of the coil. I put the scoop in the sand behind that so the tip of the scoop hits the target spot at depth . That's why my holes are so neat most of the time. If you drop a coin on the ground your coil will pick it up before the center of the coil goes over it. Give it a try. Thanks for watching .
