Great review! I do not smell any suntan lotion at all. It's a weird scent: woody-fresh-salty-warm aquatic. Completely unisex in my opinion.

Yeah, I had a hard time describing this one, but then again, it also one of my favorite Amouage for women, and as you say, completely unisex, so even for me. Top 3 Amouage on the woman's side for me.

Having lived by the beach, this totally brings back memories of my time spent under the sun. It smells like salty water and dried up palm leaves. I will agree with other comments below in terms of not finding the suntan lotion at all, though it does remind me of a storage room of a beach house or a soaked dock. The perfect beach vacation scent!

Thanks! It was just allergies and from speaking all day. The men's version is fantastic!

I love this because I've never smelled anything quite like it. The initial spray is bergamot and patchouli. Once the bergamot calms down and isn't so sharp, it's like salty air, patchouli, woody mossy hut, minerals. Bergamot strikes my nose as masculine at first, so I like it better after that dissipates a little. I don't get grass and certainly not suntan oil from this. It's so sophisticated. I love it

So far, I like it more for daytime. However, I have never tried it out at night, so perhaps I shouldn't speak so quickly. The weird thing about this scent is not so much that I love it, but it's the fact that I keep returning back to it.

Hi Ben :) I became intrigued by Beach Hut Woman after reading reviews that seemed so polarized between love/hate. Your review encouraged me to take the leap and order a tester. I agree with you - I had no off putting first spray, and the description fits it perfectly. I don't get the suntan lotion scent, but I get everything else. I'm surprised because I absolutely love it! It may be my favorite new fragrance - very classy & unique. Thanks for your thoughts on it!

@@ThatCologneGuy I'm just kind of getting back into fragrance exploration, but so far a few of my favorites are Beach Hut Woman, A Lilac A Day by Vilhelm and Royal Elixir by Ormonde Jayne. I lean towards unusual scents that you might not smell everywhere. I just got the discovery set from Blackcliff perfumes and was really taken with Beautiful Monster.

King of Unusual goes to Alessandro Gaultieri who has two houses, Nasomatto and Orto Parisi...wow! I LOVE discovery sets....I hope you enjoy the Blackcliff one!

Great review. I tried Amouage Beach Hut Woman in a travel Spray. It is truly unusual. The driftwood & mineral notes threw me off. It’s just not my cup of tea.

Yeah, this one is unusual, so some will love it and others won't. Have you ever smelled Figment Man? That one is an example of this...some love it, others don't get it at all. :)

Overall, I found it would work better on a woman, but yes, a guy could pull this off. No doubt. In a similar vein, I myself would consider Sel Marin, which is a similar fragrance.
