    Commercial fishing is surely better than commercial construction. Good video.

    Old school beach fishing. That is what I grew up doing in the outer banks . Lots of fun, it will wear you out going up and down the beach. Sting rays not fun for sure. Great adventure, thanks for bringing us along. Cheers

    I had really good luck with those whiting off of a public dock on the intercoastal waterway a couple weeks ago. Much easier than catching them on the surf! Even caught a couple around 18 inches

    Skates were thick in WB last Friday. Waiting on that day when it’s nothing but 16”+ whiting smoking live shrimp. Might only get 3-4 days a year like that, but it’s worth it

    Yep, I was a couple hundred yards from Oceanic and had a day where everything under 15.5” went back, filled the cooler and had 2 that topped 18”

    Nice video! I usually have a couple rods soaking bait and a lighter set up with bait that i hold onto. I use a single fish finder rig on the rod im holding and work it slowly back to me on the beach. The rod im hold and working usually gets more action than all of my soaking rods

    Not in the UK. A stingray of 50 lbs gives you a great workout. We get them to nearly twice that weight, certain times of the year. Just 30 yards from the surf!

    Looks like a great day to be out surf fishing I would do the same but I would also be casting out a fast retrieve surface rapala or spoon cause you never know. You should do a catch n cook on southern sting ray sometime I believe you cut off the sides n skin it to cook Great video

    Хорошая рыбалка. Ловил и готовил ската в позапрошлом году в Крыму, на Чëрном море. Вкус ската не понравился, кефаль или сарган намного вкуснее. А черноморский горбыль это лучшее из рыбы

    I tried surf fishing in Bolivar Peninsula Texas over the Thanksgiving week. Two surf rods. One fish finder rig and the other Carolina rig. Both with a 1ft fc leader. Used cut bait. We casted out from the shoreline without wading in. We fished for hours. Had bait stolen off the hook all day. No fish. What did we do wrong? Next day we fished a jetty using live shrimp on popping corks and I caught two tiny fish less than a foot in length. I wanted red fish. Again, was it just luck or did we do something wrong?

    Small plastic bag in cooler or bucket filled with some water makes for an easy fish rinse. Days over pull bag out and empty. All water and most sand gone.

    In the UK we eat skate,/ ray wings. Why are they considered trash fish by most Americans?

  • @tylerguteres2449

    @tylerguteres2449

    6 ай бұрын

    Most folks consider them to be a nuisance when targeting other more desirable fish species. On the other hand, the "trash fish" label comes from a lack of education regarding edible fish in our local waters (i.e., skates/rays and sea robins [aka gurnards]). However, there are a decent/growing amount of folks in the U.S.--myself included--who find such "trash fish" to be very good eating! I tried both skate and sea robin myself for the first time a bit over a year ago and enjoyed them both quite a lot!

    @@tylerguteres2449 Gurnard especially is a Gourmet fish here. VERY expensive top restaurant food. Skate, any rays are an off shoot Elasmabranch, took a different evolutionary direction to true sharks but are no less impressive.
