Finally something to watch on a Saturday night

Dungeness Whiting, a memory from nearly 60 years ago… big adventure fishing with my older brother overnight, 2am supper slipping fresh ‘tings into a pan with plenty of butter, quick fry, flick the bones out and slip buttery fish between slices of bread. Will never fade. Tight lines Boy.

I'm an old fart angler who met the idol best Dungie angler ever "Big Les Moncrieff" at Dungeness when I was a kid!! ..... I even saved up for a bought the double taper butt 11ft 6inch perfect beachcaster rod... and coupled it with the Intrepid Sea Streak reel. I got taught that the famous "Dustbin" forever changed, after time passed by, and the storms & westerly tides rearranged the shingle & "Dustbin" location 😊 .... The good old double figure cod days !! ... I can usually still nail one, if I choose the correct time to visit 😉 lol ❤

BH & conger, try Meadfoot beach LH side,(fish from car in car park) nr Torquay, or any other south Devon Rock mark! Meadfoot, be prepared to lose end tackle, a lot ! ! ! Or if you fancy a walk Hopes Nose, Torquay, Google map and you will see, ok going (down hill) it’s the coming back up ! ! ! ! ! Make it a 2 day excursion and travel across Devon to Minehead, stay in Butlins for the week end with the family

Love your videos I us to finish Dungeness in the 60s and the 7os we us to have trouble getting a good spot ,never got one of the big cod just up to 10 ld but they did go up to 20ld at times ..

Best place in the south east to fish my favourite place is cooden beach love it

Mate there's a lot of places i recommend for huss a few are mostly in Wales Swansea West pier great place for them Ogmore also a great place last week there was about a 12lb huss also a 11lb cod there getting lots of big cod and huss down there also cardiff bay barrage great place as well last one is the knap its south wales also big huss caught down there but if you go there bait you have to have to get cod and huss and maybe a bass if your really lucky if you go the knap best baits squid Black lug and rag worm make a squid and lug rap I used that and caught a few fish

Another excellent video. Well done on your 10. If you are coming minehead way. This is the area I live and fish. In Watchet there is a fantastic little tackle shop with a really nice owner. He also owns the tackle shop on minehead Harbour. Great prices for bait.

Whiting are a popular catch out here in Aus. Really tasty fish.

Porlock weir mate for a huss ive been once to try and had one 9.10lb, had a 12.4 off chesil other day but cant really target them there

Mate also please try Newgale beach west Wales did say this in the comments in a different video mate just please go down there and give it a shot

Caught a massive bass of leysdown beach we found a good spot to fish high tide night time, it’s to the right of we’re the wall is that goes out. Fish like to go near the sewage pipes

West Wales best place for bull Huss

West Wales is probably your best bet for a bull huss, eels, good for tope and spurdogs aswell often very dangerous down that way though with cliffs or rocking terrain. You can go st davids, st justintians, Fort dale should be some on here who can point your in the right direction not been down there for 10+years body can't cope with that sort of terrain anymore.

Just goes to show how bad dungy has got that why I fish it in the day to get away from whiting or hit the bay shallow waters with waders…to many trawlers….well done anyway fish hunter

I'd say 60 percent of all whithing that are beach caught by anglers go back alive the rest get swallowed up there not very hardy fish either way its part of the great circle of life the ones that dude feed something else dude

@@FishHunterUK thats fair mate whiting are greedy buggers I'd say about 70% of ours swim off, but if we do have 1 or 2 that die we keep em for either bait on the day or for the next session

NEVER EVER squeeze the guts out of a squid or lugworm etc. on the beach for the gulls to have!! ... it's the very stuff that you need in your "muck bucket" to fill your hair curlers! 😉 x

I ain't joking about using women's hair curlers as fishing bait 😉. But, there's loads more finesse than the stupidity that I might appear to make out of it 😨😨 ... Think hard & get your own detail perfections. You'll catch Cod & avoid pesky bait stripping whiting, if you think outside the box 😉 ... so says this OAP Dungie old has been ❤ lol x

It's impossible to explain in a text on how to combat whiting & crabs, and catch yourself a cod, but here's a clue & apply your own preferences ❤. The biggest problem is the numerous whiting & crabs that rip your hookbait to bits within a few minutes? And leave no chance of a Cod to smell your offering & get there before its been devoured by the pesky bastards? The answer = women's hair curlers... filled with all that lovely mushy stuff Cod love, but is near impossible to put on a hook (lug guts & bits, crab cart, fish roe, crap old bait that you'd usually bin, put it in a blender at home & piss off the missus😊 = use your imagination!!).. use absorbant foam in the hair curler that's soaked in smelly lug guts?? ... then wrap the hair curler with black lug, squid or whatever with bait elastic. There's no time to tell or suggest the other details to you regarding hooks & pesentation .. you can make loads of them at home before you go fishing, and even freeze them... Fresh is best tho 😉. I 100% guarantee that you'll outfish anyone else... if you just keep thinking 😀 x ❤

sad to see an angler of your stature treating fish like that, nothing wrong in catching 10 at a time but you could have taken them off at the waters edge, whiting are the reason why many kids get into sea fishing and if you want fun catching whiting then use light course fishing gear, of course if you hook a big cod you may lose it, you are one of the best anglers on here but you have to treat the fish with respect
