My husband's grandmother has been suffering from Alzheimer's for about a more than a decade now. Well, "suffering." She's even not self-aware enough anymore to know that she's sick. She's like a vegetable; doesn't talk or move out of the bed, can't remember where she is or who we are or who she is herself. My mother-in-law told me once that her mother used to be a busybody, curious and full energy, always gossiping and not knowing (or caring) when to stop talking. Nowadays, she just stares at you for a moment before going back to staring at the ceiling. Told my family if I ever get diagnosed with that disease, I'd make sure to end it on my own terms before I end up her.

I have nothing but love for these people. I had watched a similar story a while back, & the guy had some very valid points for anyone saying how dare you play God...because doctors are doing this every time they use technology to save a premature baby being born that would other wise pass away without their help, technology of heart surgery, pacemakers, &,life support! Its only when someone wants to not suffer & choose. Do people judge . Regardless how you see it rather u see the outcome good or bad...doesn't change the fact that they both are essentially playing 'God"....Sending love to this family! 🙏🏼❤

I have an amazing story. One time I was driving home and I felt the presence of the Lord, come down to me from above. I started getting chills and I felt so comfortable with Him. I knew if I asked Him to play a song on the radio, He would. So I said "Ok Lord, play Come as you are..." I didn't know what station it was on or anything, but I turned the radio on and the song started playing right on the spot, perfectly... I started getting flooded with chills inside, and started crying. When I got home, He stayed with me for 10 minutes till I got out of the car. I've been getting answered prayers for around 5 years since, because that visitation eliminated doubt and I follow Biblical instructions as best as I can. Maid is a satanic, slippery slope.

This is very sad. The bible tells you to prepare to meet thy God. There is a heaven and a hell. You must be saved to reach heaven. Repent of your sins and ask Jesus Christ into your heart. You have an eternal soul, don’t leave this life unsaved! John 3v16

My greatest respects and admiration for this gentleman and all those who where with him and supporting such a courageous man. Especially his dear lady wife
I guess being able to say goodbye and tell family and friends your love will be with them the rest of their lives.
Why is this such a hotly debated subject. As long as all parties agree why not let the patient decide when and where. Nobody wants to watch a loved one fade away. Xxxx
Peace unto his soul.

It’s not bravery it’s stupidity! This man is going to hell! To be brave means to take all sufferings and be strong and take it all this is courage ! Not crying and complaining and complaining! For his wife as well !God will not give you more then you can take! He did suicide he is weak and pointless as he didn’t read and learn the word of God at all! I feel sorry for him

Beautiful people, love story. Thank you for sharing.
Coffee does taste better when it’s made with love ❤️ what a beautiful story 😢
Wishing everyone much peace. The right to choose is important. Not a easy road to travel.
I am very much touched by this video! I wanted to watch it because I wanted to know more about 'when one decides to leave this World. Thank you so much for sharing !
I am so grateful that this has started to become an option for people. I am hoping more developed countries adopt this practice. Imagine all the terminally ill- both mental and physically, who can be relieved from the worst kind of suffering. The kind of suffering there is no end to.

In tears as I lost my Nan, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins to Huntington’s and so understand Michael he did so well to live as long as he did I only had one relation live to there late 60s the rest died between 30-50 it’s so hard to watch your love one suffer and fade away and struggle to speak eat breathe, I lost my mum two years ago she always donated to the charity and hoped to see a cure for this x

They make it seem that being loaded up on morphine in hospice for weeks with your body rotting away is the supposed peaceful way to go. Well from experience from seeing loved ones go like that IT IS NOT. ! It's torture. To go the way this guy went in this video with no more torture is the best way when you're at that point that he was in.

Well, in light of the recent revelations about the Canadian VA suggesting medically assisted suicide to disabled veterans in response to complaints, this story REALLY hasn't aged well.

Micallef is a Maltese surname. Caw hanini (goodbye dear)
just as people have a right to live they also have a right to end their life. a while back lawrence hill wrote an excellent opinion piece in the globe and mail. a personal account about his mother that i hope was understood by decision makers who as trudeau said have no business in our lives. since there is no more privacy just let us be
how sad
I'm 47 and I am thankful I have that right for assistance in my passing. I am so completely out of energy and I am ready to pass. Sadly in my case I have morons for doctors who have opinions of not helping me find out what's wrong.
