Jackie was in his movie enter the dragon. The guy u see Bruce grab from behind pulling his hair that was Jackie. He's also in the chase scene chasing Bruce Lee's sister in the movie.

Bruce Lee was not a competition tournament fighter, he was concerned with what works in the real world fight situations. Bruce Lee was such a unique individual the level he achieved without nutrition experts, coaches and a world televised fight coming up for a title.... Absolutely stunning. Fifty years later we are still amazed and talking about this self made world moving individual that crossed all racial boundaries.

Guy was an idiot. Chuck Norris told him to back off the weights, or he'd severely hurt himself. He didn't; he shattered his back and almost became a cripple. Had to be put on permanent steroids and meds to deal with it. Some time later while on one of his sets, he was offered someone else's painkiller to deal with a random headache he had: the concoction of his meds and the painkiller became fatal. I guess he should have been more aware of putting shit in his body, no?

I think this is thanks to his legendary master Yip Man/Ip Man because he put a lot emphasis on philosophy of martial arts and core training (especially Wing Chun) not only fighting ....he didnt support figting for money ....

I love Tarantino’s movies but he’s a racist a$$hold when it comes to Bruce. Steals the iconic yellow jump suits, all the main characters aren’t Asian other than Lucy. Casts the white guy who stole Bruce’s spot for the Kung Fu tv show which he came up with and was supposed to star in as the main villain and supposed badest man on the planet. Then has the nerve to spread lies about things like stuntmen hating him which wasn’t even true. Truth was that he had to teach them how to act bc they were used to John Wayne super fake fighting and didn’t know martial arts or how to be good stuntmen for those movies. Bruce was a perfectionist and wanted things to look good. Mix the 2 and he’d accidentally hit people in the face sometimes, so yeah they didn’t like that. Also some didn’t like being told how to act in an Eastern fighting style. But he was also super nice to them, would take them out for dinner, he was super apologetic when he hit someone. And a lot of people paid stuntmen no attention but Bruce was very friendly with them. His daughter Shannon had a great reply to Tarantino saying he doesn’t know what it was like to try and break through wanting to be the first Asian lead ever in Hollywood! Pretty sure Enter the Dragon was the first Asian lead to hit #1 in the box office, and Bruce never got to learn about it bc he passed before it was released

Bruce Lee was a master at life.

Jackie and Bruce were very different. Bruce Lee literally developed what we call MMA today. That one inch punch was clocked in at over 100 mph. He could catch a grain of rice or a fly in the air with chop sticks…. He was just DIFFERENT. Jackie Chan looked up to Bruce and respected him. He is more of a stunt man/fighter. He is self deprecating and lets himself look like he’s loosing, but he’s actually not. Bruce would take out a room of guys and barely break a sweat. Totally different guys, both great.

Of course SUPER different, you don't compare The Rock to professional champion Lou Ferrigno. One's an actor, the other is Pro Athlete legend that did some movies. BRUCE LEE was not an actor, he only did one little film for Hollywood, Jackie has done over 14 films for Hollywood. For Hong Kong Jackie has done OVER 100 flicks, Bruce Lee only did 3.(Tower of Death is not a movie, it's only 7 minutes of usable footage). BRUCE LEE is ranked by Sports Illustrated in the Top 50 Greatest Athletes of all Time, Jackie is a showbiz producer. Professional Sports athletes enjoy Jackie Chan and even respect him but they don't STUDY him or praise him. Actual Champions literally study Lee's Techniques+ Methods, they analyze his training regimen and Nutritional Diet...not Jackies. Thankfully, Lee was able to sneak in a few movies at the very last 1.5 year of his life. Prior to that...there are zero movies, he was simply a veteran at live combat. In live situations he had fought; Black Belts, Pro Fighters, Ex military, Champions, 3rd degree Masters, Rival Martial Artists, and opponents that outweighed him by 100 pounds. His battle experience started as a young boy and lead all through out his teens + adulthoodhood. The few movies he DID make were only at the last 1.5 years of his life which was a brief opportunity for him to report his life experiences and give that insight into live combat. He only made 3 little movies plus One Hollywood film, a very short attempt at films but we're lucky he at least made them and snuck them right in JUST before he died to show us his insights on his personal life of hard combat.

Sorry, but Lee was far from the 1st person to train in multiple (mixed) martial art forms. I say this as a fan, and someone who trained with Bruce's right-hand man Danny Inosanto. People had been doing it for centuries.

Fun side note. Bruce and Jackie Chan fought in the movie “The Big Boss”. He and Chuck Norris fought in the movie “The Way of the Dragon”. I have massive respect for all three of these men. My sensei trained with Chuck Norris under the same sensei. Chuck Norris attended some of the same tournaments my dojo competed in.

I've read that Lee's kicks and punches were so fast that they actually had to slow the cameras down or else no one could see it. You can tell this by watching the 5-inch and 1-inch punches videos which weren't movies, just tournaments. You can't see him coming. I have yet to see anything remotely like Bruce Lee. Gone way too young.

I put flowers on Bruce Lee's tombstone in Seattle cemetery. I believe that his son, Brandon, was to be buried by him. ❤️

Bruce Lee is widely accepted as the father of Mixed Martial Arts. His 'Jeet Kun Do' was all about taking what was useful from all styles and discarding what was not from all styles. And Jackie Chan is the inventor of Parkour...I don't know if he's widely accepted as such...but he is, and I'm not really seeing anyone today who can actually match him.

Edit: According to the internet it was created in France in 1980 called "Art du Deplacement", later renamed, mainstreamed and turned into a sport in 1990 by a man named David Belle.

Everything that you saw in that video I can promise you that it is 100% real and you just got a fraction of the speed of how he truly was.I can without any doubt can guarantee you that his philosophy on life is just a tiny drop in his whole outlook on life and the purpose in living our lives. Bruce Lee is pretty much dubbed the Grand Father of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Bruce Lee was born in November 27, 1940, in San Francisco California. But was raised in Hong Kong a majority of his child hood and teen life. He later moved to Seattle Washington on his own i think around age 17 almost heading to 18, and finished up his senior year in high school in Seattle Washington. His first American friend, was an African American male named Jesse Glover, in he later became Bruce Lee first and original set of students, as well as remaining good friends. Besides the Wing Chun fist, Bruce Lee also dabbled and learned, competed in western style boxing and won a championship in his high school back in Hong Kong, which i think he went to an international school there. He was also a Cha cha dancing Champion too. Bruce Lee also learned Karate from Taky Kimura, Jiu Jitsu and Judo from Wally Jay, both in Seattle Washington. But i think right during his last year in College where he was a Philosophy major, he dropped out to open a martial arts school in Oakland, California and moved there for a bit. I think he only had 1 Acting role in America, which was the Green Hornet, but he was just a side kick and never got a major role in America. But he then got a good offer from a company in Hong Kong during his visit. He accepted the offer and at first he started to assist and act in their first film. The film did really well, but Bruce Lee did not start Producing, Writing, Editing, Directing, and Acting in his films at the same time, until his 3rd film. The 3rd film he was in which he had full control and creation of, was a huge global mega hit and was popular for years to come. Then he made another film, and i think after the production and success of that film, he pass soon after. He was planning to do another film, but I don't think they ever started it. But Bruce Lee's thoughts, and ideology transformed martial arts and combat sports to what it is today, he even transformed the film industry globally too, in terms of storylines and action films on the way it was. Lots of film industries right now still use Bruce Lee's film style. But Bruce Lee was also extremely hard working physically and mentally, and I think lots of people in China and Asians in general, due to him having so much confidence and accomplishing what he always says he would do. But Bruce Lee had a ton of friends from all over, he was extremely well liked person. Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee was actually getting extremely popular and famous too, but he had passed extremely early. Brandon Lee was accidently shot by a real bullet, during the making of the film, "The Crow".

If anything, Bruce was the student, the grandfather of MMA was the philosophy of Leung Bik, Ip Man's master, who taught him that there is no style, and because of that, Ip Man developed Wing Chun into what Bruce Lee was taught, to "be water". Running water never grow stale means exactly that, don't develop a style, continue to learn and develop, "keep flowing".

I remember when my teacher was telling me about the “water becomes the cup” thing. He was teaching me a wing chun form called chi sao (sticky hands). But he added something…………”you have to flow like water (he then found an opening and hit me) because remember, water will always find the smallest crack.”

The Original source of that quote was Bruce Lee's Appearance in the Pilot Episode of "Longstreet", a US TV series about a blind private investigator. Bruce plays a character called "Lee", a neighbour of Mike Longstreet who becomes his Martial Arts Teacher after Mike was beaten up. Bruce Lee and Pierre Burton. Wow, both these guys were really famous and on top back in the 1970's. Burton produced books, made documentaries, interviewed famous people and dealt with current affairs.

This is not a movie. It was a show that he put on showing his skills!

The fascinating thing is as Bruce is talking you can see that he has dedicated himself to so many years of practicing searching and growing. So he’s not just reciting words he memorized bu5 he’s living it.

Special effects just were not there in the 60's and 70's. What you saw was undoubtedly real. There was barely a C, never mind C.G.

Bruce was so fast he’s have people hold their hand straight out with a quarter. He’d have his hand on his side and when he started moving they were supposed to close their hand. Bruce would swap it out for a dime. Crazy fast

Actually a lot of people taught him different arts in his life and he taught many people and many of those people.

In some videos, filmmakers had to slow down the speed of their film because Bruce is very fast with his version of Kung Fu called Jeet Kune Do. Some in China were upset with Bruce Lee because he was teaching non Asians on Martial Arts sacred to China. Bruce Lee is well-known with Nunchaku (Nunchaks)

I remember watching an interview with Chuck Norris when he was asked about training with Bruce Lee for a while in California, Chuck said that normal heavy bags was useless with Bruce because he could completely destroy them within minutes, so he created a specialized bag that weighed about 700 to 800 pounds with a thick solid heavy steal spine in the centre to help keep its form when hit with Bruce's full power, especially when kicking. Chuck said what made Bruce so deadly was that he had phenomenal speed AND phenomenal power all in one package which very few people can achieve as most people have or perfect one or the other, Bruce had both power and speed at the highest level of martial arts. Then mix that with his mixed martial arts development and mentality and you have one of the greatest martial artist who has ever appeared on film, and even on film he fights at half speed because if he fights full speed you will not actually see a lot of his moves as he moves faster than the camera films, they learned this when he was first shot for the green hornet, when they played the first film footage back all they filmed was Bruce miraging and guys randomly falling on the floor etc so they told him to slow down so they could actually film his punches and kicks, the man was bad ass as fuck.

CHuck never said this...the 700lb bag is a well known myth...never happened. CHuck didnt consider Bruce a fighter and when asked who would win he scoffed at the idea of Bruce beating him.

There's a lot of people who question his skills but if u ever here anybody he's ever spared or been at his session he was on a whole different level n it didn't what weight class u were he would make u feel like u didnt belong in the same ring w him dead or alive he is still one of the badest man on the planet

I was waiting on you to mention Wong Jack Man...he is the only confirmed fight Bruce had as an adult so when I asked, I knew that would be your answer. Sometimes you lead people to do the research. Do you know the real reason they fought? DO you know what Bruce did after that fight?

Bruce Lee's movie martial arts is different from his street martial arts. I've been in the Martial Arts for over 50+ years and have trained with Dan Inosanto who introduced Bruce Lee to the nunchucks and the late Taky Kimura. Both top students of Bruce Lee. Dan Inosanto has continued to carry on Bruce Lee's martial arts philosophy. Bruce Lee influenced me in my martial arts career. I tried emulating his flying side kick for show not for a real fight. Dan Inosanto once told us that he didn't ever remember scoring on Bruce Lee when he sparred him. Now I thought Dan Inosanto was one of the fastest martial arts I ever had the honor to train with. This made me wonder how fast was Bruce Lee?

I have used my training over the years, a knife pulled on me 5 times, jumped by 3 attackers, bar fights, broken up a mugging, placed someone in the emergency room...I'm glad to say it's been years sense I have had to use it and preferably it stays that way. I have trained others that have been able to defend themselves successfully too.

This man said he never heard Bruce Lee TALK! Then he said he gets Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan mixed up. B, can you PLEASE put him in a headlock for me lol LEGENDARY! Everyone should hear the philosophy of Bruce Lee in general. Its too bad that he had so many restrictions on him back then. Shang Chi gives me modem day Bruce Lee vibes with his style so I can't wait to see Marvel flesh out his story more and bring him in with other elements of them

Shang Chi’s original comic was heavily influenced by Bruce Lee.

There’s so much truth to Bruce Lee’s teachings, especially the philosophy of “be like water,” as in adapting to your situation, environment, etc. I work in the field of mental health and I’ve seen hundreds of psych patients. The common thread with most of them is their inability to adapt to their situation and environment. So, it’s our job to provide resources and counsel so the patient is equipped to face their challenges.

There seems to be no frivolity in the thoughts that evolved in Bruce Lee's mind as he experienced the pieces of his life. Whether it be the 40th time, like this video, or the very first time I hear a quote from Mr Lee, It seems that he has grasped, value and worth. To me he's applied it In many facets of his life. It seems I have a lot of mental training to do, to even get near the level he had of understanding and then living, value and worth. In my opinion he worked very hard at demonstrating his understanding of this to us. It goes way beyond movies and martial arts. Value and worth have parts that are similar for everyone and parts that are very different for everyone. I believe the key is to do your best to live well with your parts and to do your best to respect the other parts, because Bruce may have drank out of a Ming dynasty ceramic teacup, I like a hydroflask myself, you may like a Yeti squirt bottle, other people may like coffee cups but at the end of the day, water fits in every shape, flows with everything and we all need water. So as the master said, "be water my friends,..... be water" AGR guys! Mahalo for sharing your hard work 🤙😎

Bruce actually trained Kareem Abdul Jabar, they were great friends and Jackie Chan got his starts doing stunts for Bruce. I have a huge fan of Bruce Lee since I was a kid. He used methods of training to get his body to levels of near perfection that science didnt understand or confirm until decades later. When he hurt his back and couldnt train, he began training his mind and focused on his philosophical writings which are just as brilliant and inspiring, if not more so. The doctors told him he would never walk again, not only did he walk, he conceptualized and taught his own form of martial arts after that. Truly a once in a lifetime human being. P.S. the ping pong thing was fake, done with CGI after Bruces death for a commercial.

Fun fact... Bruce's very first student in America was a black man named Jesse Glover. Jesse was already an accomplished Judo fighter in Seattle, but he was blown away by Bruce's skills after meeting him in 1959. Also, the Bruce Lee "ping pong footage video" is fake. It was created for a corporation commercial by some talented digital cgi team and actors. Not real footage.

Let's be honest. Jessie was one of the best american martial artists of the late 20th/early 21st century. Nobody will know him or his stuff because he kept it old school, but he improved Lee's art. I don't care if you are Jose Aldo, if you train with his drills, concepts and habits, you will be better prepared in a self defense situation.

When Bruce said water can flow, creep, or crash , he is talking about Broken rhythm ..and when he says it becomes the teapot or bottle .. that means it adapts to it situation..

What Bruce meant by "be like water," was to adapt to your opponent. Never go into a fight with a gameplan, you adapt to your opponents fighting style. Just like water adapts to whatever you put it in.🙏🏾

REALLY under rated The one student of his that stretched his career to show his skill which Bruce taught ( that were very similar)was Chuck Norris. American born, he soon after went on to a TV series "WALKER" which turned out to be quite popular. I loved when Bruce (in a movie) would sound off a certain sound to his action. Bruce Lee was really really good at wing Chun Kung Fu, and developed his own style of Kung Fu that was actually more simple than the base form of Kung Fu, but on purpose so that it could be easy to adapt and change. Jackie Chan is a black belt in like 30 different styles of martial arts, he was also a world champion of a couple different styles... I'm still a little unsure how much of the Bruce Lee legend was real, but based on just being a fan of martial arts movies, I always like the idea of them fighting each other in their primes, and I always saw it as if it were in an open field, Bruce lee wins, but if it were in the middle of a bar or some other cluttered area, Jackie Chan wins. Also, the story about the knunchucks is that Bruce lee had never used them before (weapons of any kind aren't a focus of wing Chun, those have their own separate styles) but he asked to borrow it from someone and practice with it for a couple hours or so while on the set of "the big boss" aka "fist of fury" (If I remember right) and then they shot that part with the matches. And honestly I've heard a lot of "Bruce lee is really that good" and "Bruce Lee was mostly just acting, he was ok but not the same as his legend" type of stuff, and the only thing that makes me think he really wasn't that great, is that ping pong thing... I mean, it looks faker than the moon landing and people question that pretty hard lol.

This may sound odd but its my truth. I grew up watching Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray, and then Brandon Lee. They were idols to me. (I think my Dad wanted a boy first!) to me this was a time when learning from these men how to be strong but also to tell your truth regardless of “likes” and trolls.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was an actually student when Bruce Lee was teaching his Jeet Kune Do classes. So was Steve McQueen.
