I predict they will ban meat soon, except for ze bugs, which will make things even more profitable.

Type 2 is the gift that just keeps giving. My mom's cousin was Type 2 diabetic and lived to 95! She had dialysis two or three times a week forever, and was exhausted most of the time. A horrible way to live. Had she just gone on a low-carb diet in her 70's when she was diagnosed, she would have had a great life in her later years. Meanwhile, 25 years of money to Big Pharma and the dialysis center.

So you’re saying that’s why doctors like this go on social media? Before there was insulin, there was unsweetened oatmeal and whole-grain rice: standard and effective treatments for T2D, which the US and UK agencies need to be explicit about, along with avoidance of junk foods / candy, etc. The research with fruit consumption in diabetics is also quite good, and that’s why they recommend it. The doctor hasn’t done his homework, which is why he is outside of consensus in the field. It is all the sugary drinks and other poor dietary habits that are the principal cause of the rise in diabetes, not centuries-long practices for treating it. Social media is a collecting ground for poor work and poor advice that doesn’t cut it with peers.

Same for pasta lts the soft drinks and candy and pricessed foods that kick this into gear. Americans are hypochondriacs. And diabetes is one of their favorite "conditions". My numerologist friend told me diabetes is ruled by the #26. Cogito ergo sum .most every woman friend I have known is on pills, cig or booze. They eat out all the time and this includes fast food. My healthiest woman friend is same as myself, a gardener. I recommend a food additive book to everyone of my friends who don't read labels. Remember I tell them, you're eating for two. My son, during a breakdown, was given a medication that badly attacked his pancreas and developed diabetes. Once he was well the diabetes didn't ease down. After 4 years of this, he took control himself, researched & started taking berberine & digestive enzymes, + lecithins to take the 'bad' cholesterol away(never statins)started exercising(at home as he's not good with people places), & eating well. The doc was amazed at the turn around, keeps checking that this wasn't a fluke lol. It was hard work but I'm proud of him for taking control of his own body and health. 🙏🕊️

I reversed my type 2 by going on a 3 day fast, I also cut out all dairy, and cut sugars to a minimum. I started eating lots of cauliflower and shredded cabbage with olive oil and hummus, kept carbs to a min and still eat lots of meat. I lost 30 lbs in about 4- 5 months (Im a middle aged woman so thats amazing) Every morning I check my blood I am normal where as even when I was taking the meds I was high in the morning. The meds were making me get up every hour or two to urinate so I could never get a good sleep. During that fast if I was hungry Id just drink carbonated water with lemon juice black coffee or herbal tea. also pressing the tragus of your ear makes your hunger go away. I take a short walk whenI can and that helps with the weight loss as well.

Curiously - We have a kitty that's been diagnosed as diabetic, and the recommendation was to fee low carb/high protein regimented meals. They recommended a certain brand of high end food for 'overweight management' as an ideal food to feed our pet. I wanted to learn more about how to evaluate cat foods in order to make good choices for Grady, and worked up a spreadsheet to evaluate the guaranteed levels of protein, fat, moisture, fiber and ash... I discovered that the 'recommended' diet is far less than ideal for our pet who is not overweight! The carb content is much higher in the recommended expensive food than in the stuff we're already feeding him! People must really stay on their toes these days... Meanwhile, they keep telling us to NOT do our own research. It just makes me crazy... Thank you Dr. Dhand!!

Because mine is inherited , I told him I didn’t want statins as I have fibromyalgia and have joint pain anyway ,, he said ok offered me a new jab I could do myself , I said no thank you , he sent me a prescription for statin and another non statin to take and it’s been put on a repeat on my medication app I have !!! I’m not taking it ! I’ve stopped smoking now for 9 weeks and stopped eating sugary foods I won’t lie it’s been tough and doing more walking , and fasting eating healthily , let’s just see !

I found cutting out the main culprits is the best way to go. Those are all oils, anything that is made from any four, legumes, and grain. Everything will fall into place as far as cholesterol, energy, cravings.... Good luck on no longer smoking. I also stopped, but it's been years now. It takes some self-talking to manage that, but you'll do it.

With a diabetes nurse present at breakfast they were given cereal with milk, a glass of milk, a cup of tea, a glass of fresh orange juice, a fruit yoghurt, an apple, orange and banana. Sugar !! With in minutes they were sleeping again. One woman woke with sugar level of 7. After breakfast it was 23 and she was sleeping in the presence of a nurse. If they were given bacon and eggs they would be fine and sent home. I only took a cup of tea, bottle water and bread and butter.

We don't pretend to reverse diabetes, we just ask to not die from complications of diabetes. If a person exceeded with starchy food - say, a big plate of 300 gr. spaghetti with a sweet sauce, 100 gr. parmesan cheese, a100 gr "cotoletta" (breaded fried steak) cooked in peanut oil, an iceberg salad leaf (with 15 gr. corn oil and salt), 50 gr. of grapes, and one coffee with aspartame. This is what a person would eat at a typical Italian style restaurant. If the person eating the above is diabetic, there is no reasonable amount of insulin which can keep the blood sugar in check.Blood sugar will be around 350 mg/dL (divide by 18 to get mmol/L) or 19.5 mmol/L for more than 12 hours, a sugar level that could end up, one day, in a diabetic coma. A friend of mine, here in the UK, is paying for a CGM with his own money (£120 per month), and he eats only when a reasonable amount of insulin (10 to 15 Units) can bring down the blood sugar to 140 mg/dL (8 mmol/L) following a reasonable sized meal, made of 50% meat & 50% carbs. I believe it is a lot of effort, but it is much better then eat carbs, take some insulin, and hope for the best. I don't understand why doctors don't strap a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) to every diabetic patient, and tell them they can eat οnly when the sugar is low enough. Thank you for this important video Dr. Suneel. The problem, is to have other people first to listen, and then to understand. All the best Greetings, Anthony

If your friend switched to a ketogenic way of eating he would be able to reverse his type 2 diabetes. There's no pretense required. Also, that blood sugar reading is way too high. Mine rarely goes about 5. He needs to cut out the carbs and stick to fatty meats, fish, whole fat dairy if he can tolerate it and then maybe some non-starchy vegetables for colour and crunch (that's literally all they offer).

Keto and fasting was the solution for me. No insulin or any diabetic meds now. I started doing keto in 2015, before Keto was mainstream. A nurse friend told me it was dangerous and only for ppl with seisures- but it was working and I felt great. Doctors told me that my results were aberrant, and that it was unhealthy. I was losing weight, gaining energy and feeling great so I ignored their warnings, 9 years later I am med free and maintaining my ideal weight for 8 yrs and have not seen a doctor once! The real reason they caution us about keto I've realized is because we don't need medical interventions, on a keto diet the body receives what it needs to maintain and fix itself, throw in intermittent fasting and we have a a good blue print for self regulating our health.

I pushed a little and asked her is there something else he can eat that would be better for him. She responded cereal is fine as long as it's not more than a cup. :( Doc, my father doesn't listen to anything I tell him, only listens to the Doctors and professionals. I tried so hard to get them to just give him other suggestions and they didn't. His A1C is very slowly creeping up. He is like a zombie some days. He won't speak and will sleep often. I also try to guide my mother, 'You don't have to give him bread at every meal. Skip it once in a while at least.' She won't listen either. We live in a strange world. It's very frustrating. Thanks for listening.

I've been eating nearly zero carbs (Carnivore) for 13 months, eating fatty ruminant meat (beef, goat, sheep, venison, bison...). I need the fat for fat-soluble vitamins and hormonal health. *I've almost reversed my T2D (2 years ago while in hospital for 2 strokes and an MI, my a1c was 13%. Last labs a month ago, my a1c was 6.1%). I'm now getting my hypothyroidism treated and that should help me continue to progress toward T2D reversal... I'm on no diabetes medications. *My fasting insulin (I wish I had had it measured 2 years ago, but it's not a common lab to order, which is a crime) went from 9.8 in 8/2023 to 7.7 in 11/2023 (U.S. units).. I expect it to be much lower next time. *My ventricular ejection fraction (EF) was 40% 2 years ago. In Feb, 2024 it was 60% **NORMAL**. Other than some damage to my heart from the heart attack, I've "reversed" heart failure! * I've reversed fatty liver disease (NAFLD); 3/2022 ALT=30, AST=23, but in 9/2024, ALT=14, AST=12. * reversed my hypertension... average BP is 119/50, on no meds. And, though I didn't start "carnivore" until a year later, I did start a ketogenic diet actually in the hospital 2 years ago, and I am convinced that the ketones helped me heal my brain. 3/3/2022, I could not speak/read/write, and I was paralyzed on my right side. The ketones helped me heal so well that I was able to go back to work exactly 2 months after my CVAs on May 2, 2022.

Ancel Keys was a major grifter, he had data from 22 countries and chose the five or six which "proved" saturated fat caused CVD and ignored all the rest which proved no such thing.) I have the same story. I was told 5 years ago that I was pre-diabetic. But the only advice I was given was to 'stick to a healthy diet' (low fat, high carb, fiber and fruit). It didn't work! 3 Years ago I went on a fast track keto, intermittent diet and lifestyle routine. Lost 30 pounds and all signs of diabetes. At 76 I feel healthier and fitter than ever!

Great video! Imho the key is to get control of breakfast first. I used to eat instant oatmeal wth lowfat yogurt thinking I was being healthy, until I saw tht the glycemic index was higher than table sugar. Once I fixed breakfast it was much easier to resist snaking and carbs throughout the day. Dropped 75lbs in 3 months without dieting or crazy exercise.

My mom was in hospital over the Easter. She has diabetes, got problems with intestines and inflammations. Intestines problems for over two years now!, that she could have avoided. NO doctor or nurse have told her to quit sugar and other "food" that causes inflammation! Only me (her daughter) and my grown kid have told her to go on a diet. Guess what the hospital did; they gave her strawberry lemonade and a bag of CANDY!, plus the other "normal food". She is not doing good at all, and I don't know how to get her to understand that what I say is correct.

The past 3 years i changed my diet eating lean protein, certain fruits and veggies, specially the microgreens, lots of nuts and seeds and fasting 16 - 20 hours daily. Eat at 5pm and start fasting at 10pm. Walk a lot in the morning and swimming during fasting. My blood glucose now is stable below 90 in the morning and at normal level below 100 few hours after meals. Thank you dr, I follow all your instructions step by step. Work pretty well for me. Its not an overnight remedy. It takes time, patience and consistency.

I adopted a high fat low carb diet (now called keto) 8 years ago and have never looked back. I was pre-diabetic, obese and had arthritis in both hips which sometimes immobilised me and also had arthritis in my lower back which interfered with my sleep. I lost 60 lbs over the first two years and better still, have not regained any. I have not had any arthritis symptoms for a good 4 or 5 years now and I walk 3 brisk miles four times a week. I am very very happy to have found the right way to live and feel energised but I do regret all those years when my life could have been fuller. Bless you.

Alcohol doesn't contain sugar and there are also a variety of low carb beers . No need to give up alcohol just consume moderately 1/to 2 should be fine .

I was diagnosed a Type 1 at 35 years old. I was thin and active, a yoga teacher. The doctor signed me up to go to Nutrition Classes at her facility, yes a Type 1. The doctor and the nutrition class told me to eat more fruits and grains because I was thin. I refused and told them that diet would kill me. The doctor refused to allow my referral to an endocrinologist to go through because I refused to attend the nutrition classes. This was a mere 12 years ago.

This is timely! This presentation is right on, thank you. I'm due to start a year-long pre-diabetes program at my local hospital in May, funded by Medicare and based on CDC guidelines. I'll be interested to see their protocol, and if it follows the old "avoid saturated fat and eat carbs" mantra. I've recently been following you, Dr. Dhand, plus Dr. Ben Bikman, Dr. Jason Fung and others. I believe my A1C slipped into pre-diabetes range due to starchy, high-carb snacks, which I've removed from my diet. Easy peasy.
