Black Americans are not rich Africans people think we are rich. I lived in the Gambia for five months. When I went to African both times, I took suitcases full of supplies to give to the African people. The two realtors took money from me and lied about the condition of the rental housing saying the were in good condition, they were not but the landlord would not refund my money. When buying items the stores charge much more then what they charged the African. They would cheat me or changed four times more then what they charged a African for the same item. They followed me around for money. I gave as much as I could but it was not enough for them. Many Black Americans and blacks from other countries have left the Gambia because of the mistreatment we received from them. The police would stop and ask for money money. I have no plans on returning to Gambia Not unless the Lord tells me or He takes me back to African. The Black Americans went over to make a life and help to the African people. Instead we were stolen from and cheated. We never nor would we ever mistreat the Africans like they have mistreated the Black Americans. Who the African peolpe need to look out for are the Chinese, Indians and the Greek. And stop mistreating those that come to help them.

u find way more black people making 6 figures or more in the usa more than anywhere else on this globe. and the mass majority of these people are born and raised americans. so out of most black cultures, u find the blacks with the most money coming from america. but id say african people have more richest at their disposal. literally right under their feet. they just have no unity and allow non africans & corrupt Africans to run their stuff, hence they dont get opportunities to utilize what they have. on the big stage, the majority of every culture on this planet is financially poor. we just like the nit pick the successful "talented tenth" to make our culture seem better than others

It's really crazy how black Americans think that they are Africans and are going back home. Africa sold its own people into slavery then lied and said they were kidnapped. You think money was not exchanged? Now they are luring the descendants of the people they sold back to Africa under false pretense and black Americans are falling for it. I have no interest in going to Africa. My entire family is from the Caribbean. I lived in the states and the UK but have now moved back to the Caribbean where my family has land and a home. This is my mixed up culture that I love. I pick my fruits straight from di trees, fresh air, great foods and everything I need. Good luck to the folks saying they are going back home to a place they know nothing of.

The reason why we who the world refers to as the bywords negro or black have bad experiences in africa is because we're the true Hebrew Israelite Descendants today. Africans sold our ancestors to the grecians (white folk according to Joel 3:2) because they've always hated us. This statement goes back to Psalms 83. In Isaiah 52:12 THE MOST HIGH YAHUAH instructs us NOT to go out in haste to africa but to wait and follow HIM so that we won't have the problems we have today when we go over to africa. THE MOST HIGH YAHUAH who covenanted with Abraham, Issac and Jacob has revealed in scripture that HE will be regathering HIS chosen people back into our land. We who are HIS, just need to wait. I've read many complaints like yours.

There are some black folks, especially in the USA, who have been told by leaders of the ADOS and FBA that their ancestors are not even from Africa. Which one is it? They hate on Africans, especially Nigerians and Caribbeans. They don't want to be called African Americans but Black Americans, so why not buy land in America?

Many high chiefs offered land grants to formerly enslaved descendants many times over for decades. Hundreds and even thousands of acres were offered to us to build communities. Some of us believed them because we were welcomed and given land. Read about Fihankra, the land grant Dr. Maulana mentioned. Even the Ghanaian govt made such claims. They say it now. Ever hear of Ghana Wakanda? That fell flat. Our own folks, some Pan Africans who repatriated rarely told us the actual facts. We were constantly lectured at to go home to Africa. Never cautioned! Our romantic view of the Motherland was and is constantly exploited. It has been only recently that folks are offering "advice" to navigate the return. Believe me, they charge for it, too. Land can be leased, seldom if ever bought to own outright by non-Ghanaians, meaning our folks. Most marry Ghanaians to avoid the complexities. Keep in mind, leases extend to lifetimes, 99 yrs, which allows lessees to believe they are the rightful owners. We only heard the constant beckoning to come home to Ghana. Go back home to Africa. Come my sistah, my brotha...we will give you land. Some did and do (see Pram Pram) and they fare well, however, too many are scammed. But guess who has little trouble "buying land ", especially now? The whites, yellows and browns are there by the millions. Their govts help them. What is our govt? The same is true of citizenship. Obtaining that is very difficult, too. Repatriation is our right, but deceitfully, it comes with a cost.

I’m a Black American and what he’s saying makes perfect sense to me. I enjoyed my time in Ghana, and have often thought about investing in land, but I understand that there are cultural and economic differences that I may not understand. If we come to Africa, we should come with the mindset to “invest” not with the mindset to “get” something for free - that’s not what this diaspora movement is about. But with that, we should also take into consideration that there are key differences that we may not understand, so we should proceed with caution.

Yes, there is no free land in Ghana. Everyone who needs land in Ghana, whether a Ghanaian or foreigner, pays for it. And you should do your due diligence to ensure the land you are buying is free from all encumbrances before you part with money, just as you would do anywhere else in the world, including America. What may have given people the wrong notion that Ghana is giving out free land to Africans born in the Diaspora is the land parcel given by the chief of Aseibu to the Diaspora community. Even with that offer, it's important to know that while you don't pay for the land itself, you pay for the administrative costs involved. Note also that the people handling everything related to the Aseibu concession are African Americans, not Ghanaians. There is no free lunch anywhere on this planet; that's a fact we must all appreciate.

Please, stop saying that there is 500 years gap between us and the continent. Slavery started over Four or five hundred years ago, but it continued until the nineteenth century. So, some people ancestors came to the Americas less than two hundred years ago. It's important to keep this in mind, so people will not think that slavery is ancient. Another thing diasporas are not the only people coming to Ghana or Africa. There are millions of Chinese living in Ghana, and countless Lebanese along with Indians, Arabs, and Europeans, and they are not having any problems with the local people. What are these ethnic groups doing to improve the life of the locals, and why are the locals not resentful towards them? It's the mindset of Africans to fight against their own, and to sabotage the success of their own... It's part of the religious practice of Africans to work witchcraft to destroy one another. I see it in my community in the Caribbean... My friend, there is far more to this type of behavior than we can ever imagine.

If you are coming from a developed nation, one will expect you to bring your expertise on board and not to just lament or complain. Who said Africa has no problems. If it were so, the land wouldn't have existed and certainly no one will invite diaspora to come and help build. If you want to be happy in Africa, you must recognize the opportunity and fight for it. I am sorry but it appears the word FREE is what is causing confusion and misunderstanding. African Americans have difficulty in grasping the concept of this "Free Land" gesture from the local chief. The land, in fact, is free. When you acquire land, you would have to register it at the land registry. This requires engaging surveyors, lawyers and someone to do the running around to put everything together to enable the registration to take effect. All these cost money. Surely, you do not expect the one who gave you the free land to pay the cost of survey/legal work/registration for you. It would amount to giving you cash on top of the free land. I believe the current charge for all the above work is $1200. This is really cheap considering the hassle involved. The Free land recipients should be thankful that there exists such a administrative package. Just imagine the cost of travelling to Ghana, going through all the hassle of running around to get all the paperwork together and waiting months to get to the registration stage. There is so much unnecessary noise about this Free Land project even though only a small fraction of the diaspora go to that area. The vast majority actually buy land. They buy in different areas of Ghana. I repeat only a small number of people are interested in the Free Land Area.

Africa is not for Everyone. It is for those who recognize the opportunities in it and are willing to over the challenges that get to enjoy it. It is indeed not for the faint hearted. I doubt if anyone said it is easy to be here. If you come to Africa comparing nations with democracy of over 800 years like America to that of Africa 60 years, you will miss it. That is why one is called developing and one is developed. Those in it have realized complain will not solve the problem. They just make it work. If you are coming in, contribute to the solution because complaining will not get any needed attention. As a developing country, Africa have bigger issues to attend to especially fair trade in the world etc to get needed revenue to provide for those currently living in it. Remember, those living it currently need to survive. For them all they have and know is Africa.

Those indigenous sons is taking that money back and spending it in the indigenous community, that’s employment & stimulation for that local economy. It’s the governments job to have a plan of welfare for their own citizens not the diaspora we are not rich!

Go look back at the comments with regards to some of those “free land” videos on YT. You will find plenty of folks who attempted to present the warning, yet others felt they hasps the “hook up” and that they would get away with another’s fraud without repercussions.. Start with the premise, until proven and confirmed otherwise, that there is NO freehold title available to non citizens or foreigners in Ghana and most of West and East Afrika. What is available are long term leaseholds. If anyone tells you otherwise, request that they confirm that such a change is accounted for in the consitution. If they balk or hesitate, leave them alone. Consider you just dodged a bullet!

Anyone that knows anything about land, should know that there are different types of land. In this case it is RAW land, meaning in order to make it suitable tor a house to be placed on it, you must do some things like survey the land, de-forest the land etc. Yes, these things cost money. That should be common knowledge.

FACTS: most of the diaspora are true Hebrew Israelite Descendants today. We’re the chosen ones of The MOST HIGH YAHUAH who covenanted with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. THE MOST HIGH charged us not to leave in haste where we are for africa, but to follow HIM, for he will be our rearguard. Our problem is, we reject the truth of who we really are, do what we want, and pay for it.

Is it amazing that people from America where nothing is free, people who understand that there is no such thing as free lunch, will go to a poor country like Ghana and expect to be handed out free land including all the administrative costs that come with land survey, land title registration and ownership? How much does that kand cost anyway to pay for and own with pride and contribute something to the motherland. Rather you want to take everything for free just like your oppressors. Kudos! They taught you their ways and schemes real good.

This guy speaks like someone who has LIVED there and UNDERSTAND the culture. African Americans are Individualistic and don’t know words like “elders”, “council”, “community”. When you go to Rome, do what Romans do, so therefore apply the same to Ghana, Africa and integrate. Don’t go there with a closed mindset and expect to be given stuff for free. Learn the people, their values, and your stay will be made easier. That’s what we did when we came to USA and discovered all these hidden “fees” in the immigration process.
