I would argue the most stressful years for a man are his late 20s

My brother was murdered on this day the year of 2020. One of my three sisters who had three kids became addicted to drugs, I made an oath to her that I would take care of her three kids until she got back right and she never came back; now my mother has full custody of them, I hope for her and the family as much as I can. This video just reminded me to keep going and now that at a young age still getting tired of the responsibilities and the pressure of making sure my family is in great strength. It is my responsibility to become a man.

all the messaging and meaning in this is great i think, but I can't help but feel like it's still just kinda weird to keeping putting that all down to "being a man". And I'm a man myself, but when I think of all those qualities described, anyone of any sex or gender can embody those qualities & responsibilities. I think just as people we should be striving for those things, maybe 'as a strong person', and not 'as a man'. As well, because when people go around just using the phrase 'be a man', as that interview acknowledged, there's a lot of toxic ideas and expectations usually meant by that by a lot of people, so saying that phrase alone doesn't really convey much until you break it down and explain the good qualities that really matter, at which point the phrase seems irrelevant, because any person can embody those qualities
