The only downside with nova in pvp is mana loss and you'll be dead. She kind of soft when hit.

Is this guide still relevant today? I'm a new player and quite keen to playing Nova as I like her fencing dtyle which is new to me in an MMO.

Ive been maining nova since 3 seasons ago which was my first season on console. I honestly love Nova & I know all moves but nothing compared to how you flow everything together. Now Im almost geared up to pen on everything I get attacked by players in grind spots and needed skill add on info etc. Gotta say your vid is one of the best if not out of all of em. You tell us what to use, why you use it, the benefits & even the symbols which is a huge plus for me. Thank you soooo much!

Great video, not too many nova guides out there. One trick to add would be stacking vacuums when your accel is about to end. Throw in 2 stars when your accel is below 20% and throw in 2 more immediately after accel ends to get 20% star's breath instantly. Not too important trick for PvE but a must know one for PvP where getting star's breath is way harder to accumulate.

Frozen Ring and Brutal Ring were buffed a lot since I made this video so they're very good now. But you do still need to make use of all your Awakening skills in PVE.

I picked a Nova to level for Season+ and fell in love. Loved succession. Then after here awakening, using shift + fwd, her awakening weapon comes out. holy shit! She's fucking amazing. She kills shit so fast!! Doubly in love with her now. Went on a killing spree in Fadus Habitat with her to finish out the mob grind for the season pass. it went so fast

With the recent buffs and nerfs to Awak nova did you change what abilites are hotbar'd? I'm struggling finding proper guides on those

Absolute legend, what an amazing video man! I started the game.. reluctantly, but the only class that drew my attention was nova, my friends bagged on her and told me her awakening was horrible but I loved to play it and found it to be a gem amongst the rough. However, the only good info I could find was the nova discord and it still left me to piece most of the class together. After four months of playing this video answered most of my unanswered questions, so thanks a ton. I do have a couple of questions: what are all the ways to cancel the beginning animation of stars call, and how do you buff your health up? I’m at 62 and just use the cron meal + frenzy + tent buff for grinding and am still below 4000 health. Anyways thanks a ton again, and I hope you can make a similar video for pvp!

Awakening Nova is top notch in basically every area of the game. Dueling is probably our weak area but we're still really solid. You can cancel Star's Call with a shift dash. That's the best way. And regarding health, a lot of it can come from adventure logs. I also have a couple of crystals that give health. You can also use the cups made from Elvia shards (but that needs to be farmed and you need to do Orcs/Castle Ruins)

New to bdo currently play as woosa on season server. Want to reroll to nova but it seems so complicated compared to woosa lol. Nice video btw

Hi , nice vid you made. I am a frustated nova player, after leaving valencia for higher grinding spots (I was killing centaurs and sulfurs like mosquitos) Ive found I cannot go any further. Right now Im sit at 273/325 apdp and I struggle in stars end, not doing more than 3,8 k trash per hour with yellow scroll. My killing speed is slow, and I may even die eventually at night. Also you say in the vid are at 277/327 and killing Orcs fast, I cannot even face 3 of then, they hit me so hard. Im using simple cron and strong drain elixir for sustain. Addons, skills and the like are as you show. What do you think I should check? Thanks.

I’m loving but struggling a bit in PVE. I get stuck on shi* a lot, especially when using Comet, which scuffs my starfall back attack. Great video as well, best one by far! Being on console, managing cool downs is much harder, may switch off Nova to be honest.

I would probably struggle to play Awakening Nova with a controller. But then again, I'm really bad with a controller! You need to do a lot of 180 turns on Nova so the mouse turning really helps I think. I would still persevere. It's a great class but the camera turning definitely takes a bit of getting used to. I always think she requires FPS-like skills. Especially when you're dashing forward and lunging people behind their FG.

I feel the exact same way. There is a lot of misinformation about BDO online. Partly because a lot of things have changed in the game over the years, but also because PA has intentionally obscured stats in the past so people do a lot of guess work. Glad you liked the guide :)

Hey, do you feel like Nova is a FPS reliant class ( like warrior) or its playable at 60Fps? (yes, i know more fps is more dps anyways, but some classes have bigger differences between 144/60)

It's definitely not as bad as Warrior. You'll be alright with 60 FPS. But I know there are a few things where high FPS helps. Especially some of the faster parts of combos.

I think Awakening Nova is decent at low AP. It feels like we can do well on some spots before other classes thanks to our +AP buff and -DP debuff on our skills. We're also one of the best classes in the game for low end PVE. We're not as low APM as Musa but we're quite a lot quicker.

question: isn't this better in ur general opener Riposte > Comet > Lunge > Starfall instead of Riposte > Lunge > Comet > Starfall. To get the faster starfall cast off?

Hi @xiomaro This might be the dumbest question alive, but how did you put Quortatum's Guard on the hotbar? I know how to do it generally, but this skill just won't drag there. Asked Reddit, googled, can't find a solution, so I just cannot use it at the moment in awakening. (Works fine with the prime in Succ)

What's the best movement combo for covering large distances? I am trying Shift+↑ > LMB > F+↑ > RMB+↑ but I find myself accidentally casting Star's Fall (Shift+LMB) all the time. Is there a better method? Better combo? Please forgive me, I literally just unlocked the Awakening and I am absolutely terrible atm... but I want to learn. EDIT: I just tried chaining Twisted Orbit together endlessly, and while it works: it's rather clunky, melts stamina, and doesn't feel very fast

If I'm going long distance, I usually do: ↑+RMB > Shift+↑ > LMB > ↑+F > Shift+↑ > LMB > F > ↓+Q > Shift+↑ > LMB Basically it's just using ↑+RMB or (F > ↓+Q) or ↑+F between each (Shift+↑ > LMB). You can also add in ↑+Q during accel. If all the movement abilities are on cooldown, I usually just walk for a bit to regain stamina.

Honestly, not much. The main thing is that Frozen Ring does really great damage now, as does Brutal Ring. Other than that, nothing really changes.

That's a good question! It depends on a few things. If you're only doing PVE, then definitely 4 x Macalods. Run two Corrupted crystals in your offhand (crit damage is especially good on Nova). For accuracy, you should check how much you need using Garmoth or whatever. Because you might not need two JIN vipers and two Elkarrs. You might be able to swap some out for human damage (if you're doing Bloody Monastery or Biraghi) or some other damage crystals. Dark Fangs (chest) are a cheap option if you need more DR. Personally, I run 2 x JIN Viper, 2 x Elkarr, 2 x Corrupted, 2 x RBF Adamantine, 2 x JIN Cobelinus and 2 x Hoom. It's really not an ideal crystal set up but I do PVE and PVP on the same character.

She's kinda nutty in PVE now. We get 80+% up time on accel in PVE now and the rotation is way simpler, though it does depend on the spot you're doing.

Our main ability for gaining SP (our resource) is S+LMB (Remise). I'm also running Spirit Perfume which also makes all your abilities recharge SP.

Honestly, she plays much the same. She's still one of the best grinders in the game. Only difference is, Brutal Ring and Frozen Ring do a *lot* of damage now

The extra monster damage on TET Blackstar Awakening is worth a bracket and a bit. So it's actually not a bad option. If PEN Dande allows you to hit an extra 2 brackets, then it becomes better. Or there abouts, anyway. I would definitely focus Awakening weapon first. But TET Blackstar main hand is a really good choice later on.

Best thing you can do is +DP addon and Frenzy. I use +DP on Swooping Ring but it also works on Frozen Ring or something like that. This way, the +DP addon counteracts the -DP from Frenzy. And Frenzy gives us a *lot* of healing on Nova because we do a lot of quick attacks.

Is this still viable? I love her kit but it's kinda hard to follow.

I noticed that succ nova deal more dmg compare to awakening nova. I dont know if this is true but that what i feel while grinding. If its true then what is the AP needed to match succ nova?

Awakening Nova should definitely do more damage. Even at lower AP, Awakening damage modifiers are just higher

While awakening felt like you need to move around more while dealing dmg? Thats does make sense lol. Planning to tagged her if drakania awakening playstyle is even slower than her succ

I can't really comment too much on DK because I don't really play her. I only know of what others have told me. I know DK has pretty great damage and accuracy, and she has a few s which Nova doesn't have. Nova, on the other hand, is a lot quicker, still has great damage (but needs accuracy accessories for high end PVP). We also have a grab which means we don't get hard countered by block classes. In PVE, the only class that can compete with us for the top spot is Succession Lahn.

What skills should i lock with nova

Just lock Icy Fog from pre-Awk so you can shift dash to swap to Awakening. And that's about it! Some people lock Blooming Icy Thorns as well if you find yourself fat fingering Shift+F a lot

For the most part, yes. Movement in this game is odd though. Some classes are more bursty, some have great stamina management, some are fast but get pooped out in seconds. It's hard to compare.

She is the highest of apm's.

I’m definitely not optimal with her. I only use her scythe skills and lock all her rapier skills lol. I have to enjoy the class and her rapier skills are dull and boring. However, her scythe give sorc a run for her money in style.
