BC2: Special revelation, Holy Scripture

Reformed Church Tshwane: Evening devotion for Sunday 16 June
Prayer
Lord Almighty, we ask you to mercifully hear us and all those whom you have given a hearty desire to pray, our brothers and sisters in Christ your Son. Grant that by the aid of your Holy Spirit we may be defended against the devil, the world and the desires of the flesh. Through Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
Bible reading: Psalm 19:7-14; 2 Timothy 3:14-17
Belgic Confession Article 2: How God Makes Himself Known to Us
We know God by two means: First, by the creation, preservation, and government of the universe; which is before our eyes as a most beautiful book, wherein all creatures, great and small, are as so many letters leading us to perceive clearly God’s invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, as the apostle Paul says in Romans 1:20. All these things are sufficient to convict men and leave them without excuse. Second, God makes himself more clearly and fully known to us by his holy and divine Word as far as is necessary for us in this life, to his glory and our salvation.
Song of response
