Even better... those aren't all officers. There we several officers but the large majority of them were enlisted men. The camaraderie between the O's and the E's is amazing. You can tell they are a very tight-knit bunch. And what a great ambassador for Britain, the Major was! All-around there was some good training, a ton of laughs, and people just being people. It's good to see!

@conmannumber1 In the US Marine Corps in particular, but the entire US military in general, there is very little "fraternization" that would be okay between enlisted members and officers. Things like a softball/baseball/football game would be okay. Going to a bar together would not be okay. So, having a high level of camaraderie between enlisted and officers is intentionally rare. While there is still a bond and a team spirit (esprit de corps) cutting up with each other isn't typical. Likewise, simply touching an officer, as an enlisted person, can get you into trouble. An officer touching an enlisted person can get them removed from their office/billet or released/separated from duty entirely (kicked out). Sooooo... Seeing Es and Os not just laughing but patting each other jokingly, nudging with elbows, and etc is both odd and refreshing. Hope that explained my previous comment 👍

Cuz that would also make a difference (of course, most Army personnel are perfectly humble, but many will take every opportunity to make you understand how great they are for being officiers in the Army and how useless you are because you're a civilian or, even worse, a lower rank).

I only hope this doesn't mean 1 of 2 days. I've waited a LONG time for this series but IMHO it wasn't worth the wait, at all. It's actually quite shallow. Specially considering that they've been selling "we took a LOT of footage". So I'd be disappointed if they did anything less than a whole week.

Plus they created even more videos about the rest of the twins' korea experience, so ya, they actually did way more than "just" those two days at the army base.

This video reminds me of the story my first doctor in Germany told of how he got invited for joined maneuvers with a Belgian regiment just across the border, maybe thirty miles down the road. His base had never received that kind of invitation when it involved crossing a border. The Brits or Americans in Germany occasionally threw out that kind of invite, so the concept wasn't entirely foreign. They discussed for days how much firepower would be impolite to bring, but how much was necessary not to get laughed at, and finally went with a relatively tame amount of tanks and rifles and whatnot. They arrived to find themselves stared at by two hundred baffled Belgians with beef stew, fries, several crates of beer, and not even a jeep in sight. They'd gotten invited over to the least well equipped outpost in the entire Belgian kingdom; effectively quadrupling the war machines on base just by coming in. The Belgians had assumed the Germans knew 'joined maneuvers' was code for 'building morale through the communal ignoring of a slideshow and sharing of food'.

@@namssang123 Look at how the countries colonised by Britain are doing today compared to those colonised by others? They are wealthy and powerful, built through the blood sweat and tears of their citizens and protected by the English common law system which allowed them to progress so swiftly and soundly. Building colonies was never Britain's ambition but it happened and our forebears dealt with the problems that came with it in some ways we are not proud of but there are many good things that came of it also.

예전에 미군 특수부대 훈련한거 본적 있는데 은폐하는거 교관하는 사람은 놀라울 정도로 바로 바로 찾더군요 숨는 사람도 신기하지만 그걸 다 찾아내는 교관이 더 대단하더군요

I return this segment at least twice a year only because I enjoy watching the camaraderie among the Korean Englishman and that it’s just a nice and wholesome channel. I like the patriotism, the smiles and it is nice to see handsome men not covered in tattoos. Just normal people doing awesome stuff!

영국군인인 현역 소령과 종군 신부 그 외 영국인이 한국 국방부 장관에게 외교문서로서 협조요청 ... 반대로 한국 군인인 OOO소령이 개인적으로 영국에 군에 관심이 있어서 우리 국방부 장관 명의로 영국 국방부 장관에게 이런 내용의 외교 문서를 보내수 있는것이 가능 할까? 천조국인 미국의 시조인 영국... 그들은 이미 우리보다 자유민주주의를 200여년을 먼저 선행 했다 우리는 6.25전쟁을 겪고 이젠 달려 간다 세상에 가장 멋진 자유민주주의를 바로 대한민국이 만들어 세상에 전파하는 그 날 까지 ~~~

This literally brought a tear to my eye. I loved these episodes! The brotherly feelings across both sides as well as pride and acceptance were fantastic to be exposed to!

Josh feeding his friends is genuinely one of the most wholesome and positive things I've ever seen. Sharing food (whether it's cooking for or literally feeding someone) is a way to show your care and love for someone and Josh does that well. 😊

I wonder if the country has more men living to an older age since mandatory conscription became a thing. All that mandatory exercise being required at a young age seems like it would set these guys off on a good path.

I am korean and I used to study English in the uk Bristol during my studying I went to London and walked around London eyes. I coincidentally found a memorial statue of Korean war veterans. What a day that day was June 25th which is the day north korea invaded south Korea. As a korean man who had done for serving military service, big greatful respect for your helping for the liberal democracy 🇰🇷

Watching the whole series a year + after it came out (i have rewatched it a couple of times) and the Korean Army parts always have me feeling a huge amount of respect for the Korean Army. Super glad you guys got some time with them.

The Korean army must be so happy they let you guys in. This is a very good look for them.

@Illuminátus Novus ohhh that's very interesting. I'm actually not Caucasian. I'm from south America but I've noticed our soldiers are very big 😂 so I imagined that's why they difference Koreans and foreigners.

Fun fact: You would be completly fine, because ground pressure of, for example, M1 Abrams tank is only twice of that of a standing human and what's even more amazing it's half of what normal car generates.

전 제대한 지 30년 더 되었어요.우리 땐 대학에서 교련 수업이 있었는데 3개월 혜택이 있었어요.최대 혜택 받아도 27개월이었고 우리보다 더 선배들은 혜택 없으면 만36개월 이었던 분들도 계셨어요.앞으로는 지금보다 더 짧아지거나 우리나라가 통일이 되면 미국처럼 모병제로 가면 좋을 거 같아요.가장 자유를 갈구할 시기에 억압이 강요되는 시스템은 뭔가 불합리한 거 같아요.내가 군대 갔다온 게 엊그제 같은데 내 자식이 군대 갈 나이가 되었군요.

@@jonin_cunren 전역하고 나면 평생 군대이야기 함. -_-; 지나고 나면 고생했던 이야기가 가장 큰 훈장이 됨. 그리고 삶에 지칠때 위안도 됨. 그런면이라면.. 요즘은 얼마나 하는지 모르겠는데 어쨌던 26개월은 인생에서 빛났던 순간이었음.. (추억적인 측면에서)

@@user-cb3nb5cw7h 생각해보면 그러기도 한데 물론 저도 21개월 짧은 군대 기간 다녀왔지만 그 순간만큼 자유를 갈망했던 시기는 없던것 같아요 자유를 원하는 사람만이 자유를 지킬 수 있지 않나 생각하곤 했습니다 ㅋㅋ 물론 21개월동안 자유의 소중함을 느끼기엔 조금 길긴 했죠 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

넘 멋있다 다들 좋은 추억이었을거에요ㅜ힘드셨을텐데 고생 많으셨구 고생하는 군인들 맛있는 음식 드시게 해주셔서 감사합니다ㅠ 모두들 다치지 마시고 무사히 전역하십쇼
