Lovely. The late, great Peter Sissons.

*A huge loss!* So many memories of watching him as a younger. Also, a lot of today's BBC newsreaders can take a leaf from him about how to understand impartial in news-reading.
PS: 1:58 How my parents *still* love Ken Bruce! They are both *real* "Popmaster" addicts. I still at times get his voice mixed up with the late Terry Wogan at times though. Both are just *so* weirdly similar.
'So that's Question Time next Thursday at ten o'clock on BBC1. Breakfast News is on air later this morning, half an hour early, at six o'clock. Thank you for watching, and to you all, a very good night.'
big part of the build up to children in need night was BBC Radio 2s week of fund raising with Terry Wogans Auctions in the mornings then the 24 hr music marathon, shame they don't do this anymore

Late in those days.
Peter Sissons died in 2019.
Interesting use of "I Can't Stand Losing You". Better way get used to it, because we ain't gonna do owt else for the rest of the century.

Another *14 and a half years* for us to get used to it!
From the day the Beast of Downing Street resigned. Hence the longer QT and the late closedown.
1:04 England at the time *better* had get used to losing to Aussies for another 14 and a half years!!!!!
I've done children in need at school in November 2020 last year and I hope it's going to be November 2021 and the face paints are run dry and and I'm going to wear my pudsey ears when I'm going to donate money

This was back when TV telethons *actually* felt special and were entertaining. Gave up watching it live, along with Comic Relief, about 15 years ago, after loving watching both all through the 90s and into the early noughties. Still donate to Children in Need though, but not Comic Relief. My main charity is the Poppy Appeal. Anyway, well done and good luck to you, John, as you are still doing a splendid bit to help children across the UK and around the globe annually. Hope this year's events returns to a bit more normal.
