The graphic at 5:22 does look suspiciously like it's a camera pointed at a monitor. I wonder if they couldn't get any feed out from the desks to broadcast whatsoever, and had to resort to a direct input from just the one source.
Could've been something or nothing from cameras not working, sound issues or a fire alarm. At least they tried to do something.

Never heard of a BBC Breakfast technical fault before but now I do by just watching the video and watching it all happen. I also have a question: I know the ‘due to’ stuff. But why can’t it all just be back to normal? As well, I don’t live in Scotland.

Ye Ik. But how can they broadcast without just a picture of the logo? Do they need to do it in a separate room or something?

@@butlins0000 Because it was a stand-in. So maybe the BBC One Scotland announcer (idk I'm not from Scotland) stepped in to read the news?
