The 80’s were the greatest decade for music, with the British bands being iconic.

60s, 70s, 80s, 90s etc. Britain is insanely talented musically. So many "original" works. They influenced and evolved music more than any other country in my opinion.

Too bad they didn’t continue on after this. I think they still had another full album in them. Limahl still sounds fantastic in 2023…maybe even better than he did in the old days. And Nick Beggs is still a bass hero to many of us …

Quite funny dudes, and I see Nick Beggs has swapped his dreads for plaits, can't quite give up the side length and hangy bits. I think they look better now than in the 80s, I was terrified of Nick Beggs then as I thought he was a white dreadlocked ghost lol.

lol That tends to happen when you spend a lot of time with someone. Its fascinating and funny, it doesn't really matter what ethnicity you are either. I've seen a bunch of college football jocks, one of them was black, they were all friends like brothers, and they all looked the same- same shaped head, everything- he was just different color.

There were only 3 TV channels then in the UK, Ummm Limahl CH4 came out in late 1982. Also back then UK started to get Sky Channels as well so here were more channels than just 3 lol + yeah when Limahl went, wasn't over as the other 4 still had other hit singles + the hit album: Islands! And there next album after that: Crazy Peoples Right to Speak flopped in all countries it was released in and the singles!

To think that they could replace Limahl as a singer and stay successful was a fatal misstake. Delusional arrogance. I had no interest in the group anymore when Limahl was kicked.

Agreed The manager was to blame and and an old friend that minipulated the situation knowing he would have the band on side in knowing them and and an old school friend And they all new each other and one against the rest manager manipulating, just because it was one against the rest doesnt mean limahl is to blame The rest of the band should not have listened to there manager etc, and sacked the manager instead as jed strode already said I fealt sorry for limahl as he was not to blame and he has proved after the never ending story etc and vh1 reunion that he has an amazing voice He also showed he wasnt teeny pop attitude since leaving Too shy launched them and limahl would have done non teeny pop as they matured and progressed Limahl wasnt after teeny pop as he proved since leaving the band and he said they put that on him which wasnt the case Limahl proved he has a great voice even to this day they would have been awesome had he stayed

The band need to admit they where wrong and not put the blame on limahl for wanting to be teeny pop he didn't They where pushed into it by manager and listened to him as a long time friend and school friend And maybe they just used any excuse to fire him or both they wanted to be a non teeny pop then they read it wrong cause limahl didn't They need to cut the rubbish and admit they made the wrong decision whoever made that decision

All these bands make the same mistake,…they forget that it is the different personalities,,.that each member brings to a band that people love!,..it is rare to get a combination of personalities that people love,..and will support,…and the proof is,..they have been doing the same songs for over 40 years and there fans love it still,…thank you Kaja for the memories!
