I've actually met John Mundy at a BBC1 Look Northwest outside broadcast at Blackburn Cathedral in the mid 80's along with Stuart Hall and Radio Lancashire's Norman Thomas, extremely nice people, especially John Mundy. Stuart Hall was also a bundle of fun too and a nice chap. And I loved winding Norman Thomas up with"Alright me little Presh"!

From a time when regional BBC1 had heart soul friendliness and warmth to it's viewers and audience across the North West Of England, parts of North Wales, pockets of Shropshire, North Staffordshire and parts of South West Cumbria. You can't say that today of what has replaced it!

That's the 1950's version of the BBC national anthem.
