    It’s good to see Dalston flourishing and evolving.....I lived there in the 80’s and 90’s and it was a lot different back then, I did love it though.

    I believe the Arcola theatre used to be a factory called Wheeler Green Print/bookbinding factory, I worked there when I left school in the 60's :)

    To the idiots saying "speak English" below- people have been speaking foreign languages on the streets since 1066 in this country, the Normans after 1087 brought Jewish traders who spoke Hebrew, Yiddish and German in the City of London, French immigrants and Poles have , after 1948 and the British Nationality Act we have heard African, Polish and Russian become established languages in London. All has added to life in this country.

    Read some history, foreign languages have been spoken in London since at least the Norman Conquest and earlier, people have been comfortable with it throughout history and they will be comfortable with it in future.
