[BBC] Behind The Curtain Of Lord Mountbatten's Assassination And Death - British Documentary
The bomb that killed Lord Louis Mountbatten was probably the most devastating attack of the Provisional IRA's campaign and the moment 'The Troubles' claimed their highest profile victim. This landmark documentary interviews the key figures of the tragedy, and assesses how well the scars have healed. We look at Mountbatten's life and the impact his death had on the village of Mullaghmore and on the Royal family.

Terrorism is not discriminate, Lord Mountbatten died, yet so did children and elderly. No matter who you are or what you represent, this sort of assassination just proves what monsters are like. I lived in Birmingham when the bombs went off in 2 pubs. Pubs I used, pubs my friends used. It was horrific. Why would anyone do this to innocent people, being British is not a crime. These were just two incidents there were many many more. I have no sympathy for terrorists and terrorism.

There is absolutely no way Mountbatten's death was the most devastating attack of the IRA. He was one person. I would say Warrenpoint was worse. Omagh was worse. Bloody Friday was worse. It was just as shocking for his family, and friends as it was all the other deaths in the Troubles. And to make it so with this documentary shows that special kind of British arrogance. But that man was a cruel, twisted, and many say perverted individual. Just ask the boys of Kincora. He did not deserve murder, no-one does, but he doesnt deserve our respect or mourning, and he was bloody stupid and displayed an even by then dated and, again, typically British kind of arrogance going on holiday there, given the state of the times.

@@christianliechtenstein4879 sorry. But go and read about his personal life. Go and read about Kincora. These ppl are held on pedestals, held to a higher standard. And they always, always, abuse it.
