BBC America’s Killing Eve: Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer in Conversation
Ойын-сауық
Join Golden Globe® winner Sandra Oh and Emmy® Award winner Jodie Comer in conversation with Vanity Fair's Joy Press about the fourth and final season of their acclaimed hit show Killing Eve. Brilliantly deconstructing and breathing new life into the international spy thriller for the 21st century, Killing Eve is as wickedly fun as it is smart - a cat-and-mouse game between a foreign intelligence officer and a volatile assassin anchored by gripping and often hilarious performances by Oh and Comer. Hear them discuss their remarkable performances - how they established themselves in their roles, the arc of the series, surprises from the final season, stories from behind the scenes, and more.

After watching KE finale I appreciate this interview with Jodie and Sandra even more. They are the only people who didn`t betray Eve and Villanelle until the very end. Love them so much.
Sandra is so talking about Villanelle killing Helene in that magical moment where Sandra talked about just watching Villanelle/Jodie. I feel it in my bones
Watching this again after the finale hits different. Trying to read between the lines of what they couldn’t say. 😍Jodie and Sandra in interviews and as actors.
We want a rewrite on S4. Thank you.
18:55 the scene Sandra is referring to is obviously the one where V kills Helene while Eve is watching, and it's just so beautiful the way she's talking about it and the things she said about jodie, and the fact that they basically improvised the scene and improved a lot the way it was actually written conveying a completely different meaning
I teared up a bit when Jodie said this 23:00 about the final moment. The longing stare..I'll miss this show too
Sandra Oh is so smart and thoughtful
Killing eve is my favorite show, I love how the show was primarily created by a group of talented women, it is so unique and full of surprises. This show is not just about the relationship between the agent and the assassin, it explores humanity. Can’t express how much I love Sandra and Jodie, the chemistry between them is incredible!

Wow! Now that I’ve heard Ms Comer’s actual speaking voice and natural accent, I’m even more blown away by her acting skills. So different than what I expected LOL!
I wish we could redo this interview now that the show is over. I'd love to hear the answers to these questions now that these two terrific actors don't have to worry about spoilers. So compelling. I'm sure they're quite ready to move onto other things though, so I'll just have to use my imagination.
18:55 is definitely Villanelle’s murder of Helene
Their brains! Loved this interview! I'm gonna miss them so much.
Such a great interview. Interesting reply to the question about the role of the 12. Sandra says they're not as important as the V & E relationship but that didn't come across in the series, I feel. Eve was characterised as being totally focused on eradicating the 12! She eventually pursues Villanelle to get her to join her on her quest - she knows she can't do it without her. That was where series 4 totally fell apart for me; it seemed that Laura Neal's writing compromised and undermined that amazing relationship, but that Jodie and Sandra fought hard, by improvising and improving scenes (according to their other interviews), to protect the intimacy and trust between the characters of Eve and Villanelle.

Exactly my feeling. The story-line of the Twelve started cannibalizing the show in season 3, I would say, but season 3 still managed to deliver some powerful Eve-Villanelle moments (the bus, the dance, the bridge) and a lot of the season still focused on each character's personal growth, so it was a good season overall. But the choice to keep Eve and V. apart for so long and to expand so much on the Twelve's storyline started there (compare that with the masterful season 2 where they work together for half the season). Season 4 just amplified all that and the Eve-Villanelle relationship was put on the back-burner completely. Some great moments still in Season 4 (Villanelle-Jesus, Villanelle's therapy sessions, the whole Gunn's island sequence, the Villanelle-Konstantin reunion) but to me the Twelve wast just a plot device to tell Eve and V's story. It never should have become this huge part of the storytelling that completely overtakes the show in the final season. Also, Eve becoming this super-obsessed person may have made sense if you only look at her arc, but the way she was written in season 4, for most of the season, she seemed cruel and indifferent towards V's and her journey to the point that I think it completely lessens the impact of their final moment together. And don't get me started on the final scene! Whoever came up with that ending simply doesn't get the show.

it is very unfair that in all 4 years that this show has been filmed, Jodie and Sandra have only one award at the Emmys and Golden Globes. Would love to see an interview like this after the show where they don't have to whisper, what they think about the show's finale.
Thank you lots, lots for sharing this interview. Waiting for the new season 4 to air has felt like an eternity. Exceptional actors, director(s), writers, and cinematographers. 🌺

34 minutes, good questions, great answers and I MISSED it. 🤬 Hate the commercials but it's worth it.
Thanks for this interview. Kisses from Brazil 🇧🇷❤
By far the beat interview of Sandra Oh and Jodi Comer that exist ! Great job girl! That rocks. I am just now discovering the show. I have seen it 3 times now and keep seeing things I missed. Great interview.
Love both women! ❤ Thank you!! So excited to see Season 4 but hate to see it end.
So eager for S4 to show up on Hulu (cable is too pricey pour moi) - one of the most unique shows I watch 💜
I'm SO excited
Each series is like a different show because the writers are different so there's a lack of consistency. If you're looking for an overall pattern there isn't one really. As they say the show can go this way or that way depending on the writers. The writing situation could have been better but the cast have been great throughout.

I hope Phoebe does a Killing Eve Movie someday I feel the show never recovered from her departure and needs her back one last time to do a movie and give us the original Villanelle back with her killings and glamourous lifestyle. I think the cast has been amazing, but I believe they should had the same writers to kinda get a real deep storyline. Season 3 ended and I thought V and E were going to run together or try to get down the 12 and then it started again from 2 very different ends. Thats what I feel really sucked for me. I hope they make more of this kinda movies would be really fun. Its new and refreshing in the society.

This show is SO much better than HBO's Succession. IDK why it wins so many awards. S1 was so vulgar & crude it seemed like it was written by 14 yo boys. The KE writing is FAR superior, as is the acting, sets, etc. IMO. S3 was incredible. The character development was done so well and the last episode is my favorite tv episode of all time. Jodie & Sandra's ability to do such powerful acting with little to no words is a testament to their talent - 2 of the best. The entire cast is great - ❤ Fiona Shaw ❤ Harriet Walter as Dascha - perfection! Cast award is due.

I got LEXA vibes from the last Episode. The more i think about it the more pissed i get! I still love the characters and the show but isn´t it sad that every lesbian lovestory ends this way...? Didn't head writer Laura Neal have enough creativity to go a different path?

I love the show but what you said is something I thought a lot about throughout the show too. We never see Eve’s mother or other family besides Niko (white). We never even get to know how she ended up in England to begin with. Eve’s backstory was always treated as inconsequential.

I made Villanelle's bedroom 360° view 😇

Thanks for this interview... now we have seen 6 episodes of season 4 ... and I'm sorry, it has lost its true essence ... it is less cooler ...12 was the external storyline but the core was their relationship ... but in season 4 it has become the other way around ... there could have been moments between Eve and V ...but it just keeps on diverting to side stories. ISnt is so sad that human beings get so excited about stories about a seriously disturbed woman who murders people for fun and arousal ? says a lot about the state of humanity ... to make it seem alluring and exciting to be someone who can so forget any shred of humanity and sanity that killing other people can actually become something akin to hero-status, when it actually takes a very sick person to commit such acts. The series also seems to equate ordinary people who dont get off on sick fantasies look boring and dull. I wonder how many copycat crimes were committed on the back of this series ...?
