BBA Pumps The differences between wet and dry self priming centrifugal pumps

Ғылым және технология

The video explains the design of a self-priming centrifugal pump, what the differences are between a wet self-priming pump and a dry prime pump, how an end suction pump with a vacuum system works as a dry prime pump.
Self-priming centrifugal pumps are ideal for pumping slightly contaminated liquids with or without solid parts. Self-priming pumps are used in systems where priming can sometimes be difficult and where a regular end suction centrifugal pump doesn’t work. Once the pump casing is filled with liquid, pumping air from the suction pipe is extremely simple.
The rotation of the impeller draws the air present in the suction pipe into the pump casing. The air mixes with the liquid present in the pump casing. Liquid and air are transported to the discharge outlet. When all the air has been removed from the suction pipe, the pump draws in liquid.
Due to its user friendly operation and continuity of use, dry self-priming is the best choice for mobile pump sets. Dry self-priming centrifugal pumps have a built-in vacuum system and therefore prime quickly under all conditions. The pump casing does not need to be filled with liquid and a special oil chamber located in the bearing frame prevents damage to the shaft sealing during dry priming.
