I became aware of this great house from Girouard's "Victorian Country House". By then it was a ruin just prior to being destroyed. So many of these grand houses lost in the 1950s and 1960s. Eaton Hall another great one. Nowadays they would be tourist attractions or bought by some wealthy sheikh.

Sad - such a fine house is not with us today

yes ! 1965! we should have been more on the ball. now lost forever.

sxftieee_bxby It’s since been sold to a local family who have already started the rebuild process. How much they can afford to rebuild or how much they are allowed to rebuild is unknown but at least it’s coming back to life

I have been to this Manor House in the 1950s, its sad that it has gone now. 🤔

So very sad that such an incredible building was blown up and destroyed , instead of being loved back to its vibrant former self
