First time playing? Shocked! Back when I played this game religiously, Bayard was probably in my top 10 ships. Definitely top 20

Just played a game a couple of days ago and a teammate had a Bayard. He sank 7. I immediately got it and love how it plays. My new favorite.

Got this ship when first came out, has been one of the best in brawls, burst fire is brutal, great ship. AP is good too.

Bayard in Co-Op with a half way decent (say 16-17 pt) commander is an absolute blast. Almost guaranteed to get 400 - 600 Base XP if you have a favourable spawn point, it's a real fire starter so good for getting those mission objectives. Have played her in Randoms but she is a bit of a glass cannon with no heal but that would tip her into solid T9 territory.

Just noticed, she has better torpedo protection than Bismarck. 😂

Please do a video on Boise! I love playing with a lighthouse build. While its tough only having like half a km or 1.5km between conceal and gun range depending on if you take CE or IFHE, the damage output of the 15 guns is lovely. You can devstrike DD's if you hit most of the salvo (probably not from full HP tho) and the superheal lets you be more comfortable being spotted all the time

I LOVE Boise! Though I play her exclusively in Ops. Using those 15 guns but with AP? Easily popping 10-14k salvos on the Missouri in Narai. Easily. Light cruisers are so much damn fun.

I just picked up the Bayard. It's a good little ship. Just gotta watch out for 305mm cruisers, cause that ap will chunk you hard!

Is there a list of ships (even the ones you dont have in port) for trade in? I want to know which T9 i can buy for coal to trade in for bayard.

Got it yesterday, I love it. So so much fun and ive been looking for an excuse to grind toward the Conde and this is a very convenient excuse xD, traded in the tirpitz, I was a derpitz new player yes yes......but I grew to live the secondary playstyle in the end once I knew what I was doing a little more so trained it's commander to level 19, but now I have Schlieffen so I never touch tirpitz anymore tbh 😅

San diego is also a great t8 aviable for trade it. I got it and i'm using it in bronze ranked. A ton of fun once you aim, and that citadel is stupidly hard for enemies to hit sometime.

I have this ship, its pretty nice one of my favorite French crs.

Whats that interface mod/ mods though ? Probably asking for the third time :)

This off topic question, but i always ask this to my self why you always disable legendary captain perks on ship such as special flag, tracer rounds and flare? I have all captains that are availablenfor each nation and i always proudly rock tracer flag and flare especialy on Russian ships

Just got the ship on a trade. Very happy with it. Traded it for my yoshino, Which was fine as I already had a Yoshino B.

I traded my 2nd Scharnhorst for a Boise. Love that new ship! With IFHE it hits really hard.

Hey PQ. I have an idea for a video or two. Whenever we get a new update and we get landed with new combat missions, I am always trying to work out the best way to beat them. Get 5 mill potential damage, get 20 capture flags, get 1500 main battery hits, start 50 fires. I'm wondering if you could look into some tips on how to approach these styles of missions and what ships would be best suited for them?

How does it stack up against Mainz

Glad that I had a good ship in that trade-in, I just got her a few days ago and thought it was just another bad ship, turns out I grabbed a possibly a good fish, not as good as the Thunderer but even then I rarely ever played that tier 10..... Besides, not much to see much French cruisers from the armory and coal, only the Carnot, but I feared the Carnot was a pretty bad ship, so that's the reason I grabbed the Bayard, needed a French cruiser as a trainer for French captain.... And I'm now pretty sure that she's way better than the Carnot so far...

I traded the Anchorage which we got in some event and I never played for the Bayard, different, fun, hard as every now and again you disappear in a puff of smoke. Was not using IFHE so I will change that thanks. :)

FYI Trade in a coal ship for the bayard now, then during the wows anniversary you will get a 100% coupon for a shortlist or other tier 8 premiums.

I looked at the bayard quite a bit before picking other boats. I almost got this ship instead of the others I picked. I dumped the spanish tier 10 destroyer and the moskva, which either I did not enjoyed to play. I got the Tirpitz cuz I always wanted to get this ship. And the tier 8 american cruiser with sap shells (san diego?) I have not played the san diego yet. Looks like a tier 8 Austin... this is what interested me. I love the Austin. I you could review the san diego that would be nice

idk most cruiser guys i see suck cause they have to hide or stay way back in ranked.

Honestly I just traded in my GK that I never use for this and I have 0 regrets, its just so much fun.

Could you play Sims? I've been performing very well in it, even though I usually don't play DDs. I traded it for my Le Terrible (with which I have bad/mediocre stats).

The issue i have with bayard is the turning circle. I don't know if it's actually that bad but it just feels like it takes for friggin ever to get spun 180.. and i don't notice an issue with the pen. I use Abenyoue and i alwasy end up with an extra cap. So that 17% fire chance just burns everything down. 30mm pen is pretty good anyway considering its mostly into super structures from range. I don't notice a gain the PEN with IFHE for DPM.. It just doesnt show up for me.

At first, Trade-In is just for exchange ships to ships but at first I don't want to lose any ships for a peculiar needed. We'll as of Update 12.8, the Bayard is available on the Armory for Anniversary Event in exchange of 6,250 Festive Tokens and absolutely going to need it at the time

Turret traverse is very good on Bayard compared to other ships with the same caliber :)

Also a good idea to trade-in for Bayard because it turns the Bayard token reward in the upcoming anniversary event into a 100% off coupon for the other available ships in that event. So trading in for Bayard now can get you Kidd or one of a bunch of other ships for free.

Bayard is the best ship I've ever gotten from a Supercontainer

Wichita and P. Bagration would be nice to show in the next videos. I exchanged Anchorage for Tirpitz, Hizen for Bayard and if WG will stay true to their word, I will get another T8 ship for that free cupon. For me will be a win 2 for 3, Anchorage and Hizen sucked big time. There is another way if you have a 💩load of coal and you miss some ships, you can trade coal ships that are still available. GK, Moskva, Marceau etc can be re-purchased.

Can you try it in ranked?

Maybe Kearsarge? Seems like a pretty strong ship, but don't know if one should just grind it for coal instead

I have Kearsarge, got it with coal of course and I have to say it's massively worth it. It's a tumor, ugly, partly what's wrong with the game... but damn can she deliver damage like no other.

If you don't have Bayard, I'd recommend getting it via trade for a coal ship or sth you dont care about. Next patch you can get Bayard for free which you can trade for another premium T8 if you already have it.

Out of context, is it just me that most of the time I don't care how good or bad a ship is!? And you just admire how beautifully designed each ship!

Yeah play good ships and bad ships from tier 4 and up..Makes me sad to see someone with 200 ships or more so focused on damage and WR they only play a few of the most OP ships day in and day out.

As i got a mainz and mainz black i changed the mainz for it

I got this ship yesterday and by god it hits hard I don't have higher HFE but seem to get the same ish result as here in terms of fires. On paper I didn't think it was good but first play and I got about 130k Damage.

Bayard will also be a free gift for the anniversary so it's probably forth waiting for that....

Bayard is equally good choice to Mainz for Operations. Top tier

Interesting Mainz is my ops go to. Fighter, hydro, 17.5km range, secondaries, 16 torps and Lutjens for that main gun boost but will give Bayard a try.

Decision time. I have a Max Immelmann from a black friday bundle. I hate CVs on principal so I have never played it. I'm seriously considering trading it for Bayard. Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this? I would be losing quite a lot of doubloons as far as value goes, which I don't like.

If you only want the Bayard, and have around 30+ Tier 10 ships or superships combined, you might want to hold off, as you can grind Bayard for free in the upcoming anniversary event. Otherwise, I don't see why not. Seeing as you cannot sell your premiums (for credits aside), their supposed values in doubloons are imaginary. This may be the best you'll ever get out of your Immelmann. For the anniversary, you'll instead get a 100% discount for specific T8 prems if you already have Bayard.

@@Uaintshite i got it via trade in and don't regret it one bit. Super squishy but the sap dpm is awesome and having a heal helps a bit. It's not very maneuverable so don't try to open water with it like a mino often, but it's super fun overall

This is a great ship in the hands of a good player, but my experience of facing Bayards is that it is an essay dev strike most of the time, as players expose the citadel to fire all guns, and of course, torps!

Tier 8 matchmaking the ship is awesome but drop into tier 10s its a different story can be very hard....

Bayard got hit HARD with the IFHE rework. Bayard used to be the only tier 8 cruiser with 1/5th pen on her HE shells. That is, she had 30mm pen base while all the others had 1/6th pen for 25mm. Back then taking IFHE only reduced fire chance by 1%? Now all tier 8 cruisers get 30mm pen and IFHE reduces fire chance by HALF. She lost the one thing that made her unique and was punished for it. Even with all that, she's still a very powerful cruiser.

I did swap it but it´s damn squishy lol

Henri is a heavy cruiser. Bayard is a light cruiser. Henri has decent armor and very good AP with its 240mm AP shells. Bayard has almost no armor. Its citadel is absolutely massive and very vulnerable. The AP is not particularly effective. It’s very dangerous to open water gun boat in this ship. Especially if there happens to be a crossfire. Battleships overmatch and can citadel you through your bow and stern very easily. You’ll even get Dev struck by 203mm heavy cruisers at a decently far away range if you give too much broadside. Island cover is your friend. If you’re going to open water make sure you can angle without giving broadside to battleships or heavy cruisers. Never try to bow or stern tank any battleships either. You’re going to have to over angle to them. Give them enough broadside to make them think that shooting your side armor will citadel you. Swing to make the angle slightly steeper when they fire. This makes them bounce off of your citadel (hopefully) and over penetrate your bow/stern. Hope this helps.

Sub-contracted the superstructure to the Brits. Odd choice.

Bayard or San Diego?

If you have enough high tier ships you can get Bayard for free in 12.8.

Maybe i been sleeping on this ship. I been passing it up when im looking to get a new ship, but im gonna rethink that.

i agree it is a good ship I however have one comment to make on it. It plays like too many other ships and does not do enough to set itself apart to warrant the use of 6260 tokens. I on the other hand used tokens to buy super containers and got WAY more for the value with 4 premium ships- 1 tier 8 - 2 tier 7 and one tier 5 along with 30 days premium, 2000gold and hundreds of flags and XP.

I have both, Bayard is the ranged run away and farm cruiser, Mainz can do that but is slow to turn and not fast but has better amor and lots of short range torps for when you need to yolo something. I will pick Mainz 8 out of 10 times, but if you catch a ship side on with the reload booster in the Bayard it will hurt them.

I trade gk and yoshino for Bayard and Tirpitz and im so happy about that! I hate them both anyway...
