completely useless for these boots There different fit profiles and skate design. Only similarity is the colour. The specs of the skates dont matter unless your getting a custom boot made for your foot because if you only fix a nexus due to big feet but want the supremes features your just putting urself in pain trying to get into the supreme or putting urself into big a boot if you fit a vapor. Its all marketing

Tongue, tendon guard and holder/steel combo make it an easy choice imo, and I don't even have to say which one for you to know which I prefer

Not sure why people have to hate on CCM skates just because they wear Bauer. I absolutely love my FT1s because they fit well and are one piece boot. Doesn’t mean I think Bauer skates are bad, they’re not

I don't hate on CCM because I happen to wear Bauer. Not a fan of CCM because their customer service is the worst in the industry...first hand experience. Bauer has CCM beat on customer service by a country mile

To be honest,I starting to get into Hockey so I bought my first CCM Equipments and to be honest loving CCM but although I want buy some of the Bauer Hockey sticks to see the difference between CCM and Bauer

Hi, I wear a 8.5 ee supertacks. Should I get the 2s pro 8.5ee too and what are the differences?

As1 with their new Xs holder + Stepsteel would be my choice !

CCM and Bauer BOTH make phenomenal equipment and skates..both at top of their games..don't be a fan boy..and don't judge until you've tried them!

I don't like the fact that these 2 companies have practically monopolized the ice skates sector. There used to be a much wider selection.

Was an a box store hockey shop recently. They had a helmet for $550, shin pads starting at $90, and top line skates for $1500. When I started playing in the 70’s I think I got all my gear including skates for $100. Man it is so expensive to play nowadays.

Bauer needs a 1 piece boot as well

Which skate is stiffer

what hollow did you go down to? I usually use 1/2", would you recommend 5/8" or is this so sharp that I should drop to 3/4"

5/8" is what I was comfortable on after typically using 1/2". I'd like to try the 3/4" with this steel though, I feel like that could be the sweet spot! Chase at IW Hockey

That’s what I was wondering??? I just read an article that said the same thing. It also said the Tacks were similar to Nexus and Vapor were comparable to Ribcore. I’m honestly just confused Lol and to me it wouldn’t make sense for the Tacks to be comparable to the Nexus for the simple fact that Bauer said the fit profile of the Nexus lineup will only fit about 15% of the total population. Why would CCM’s top skate be geared towards a fit profile that only satisfies 15% of the market?

So are these skates comparable in fit profile? Because I just read an article that compares the Tacks lineup to the Nexus, Jetspeed to the Supreme, and the Ribcore to the Vapors. Can someone set the record straight? lol

Yes, the two skate lines are comparable in fit, they are both a medium volume fit profile. Jetspeed skates also have a medium volume fit, however, they have a slightly narrowing heel pocket for a tighter heel lock. Nexus skates are high volume, Vapors are low volume. RibCors are technically low volume, but they utilize flexible materials that allow for a high volume fit if needed (they fit many foot shapes). Brandon IW Hockey

Ice Warehouse the reason I asked is because I was fitted for 9EE supremes on a Bauer scanner and decided to go with the Tacks 9090 for budget reasons. I felt the 9090 had the most features at that price point and the salesman said they were comparable to the supremes in fit profile. The only thing I don’t like is the volume in my toe cap and my 2 bottom laces where the vamping is. I have a lot of vertical room I can move my toes. Do you recommend power foot inserts and or maybe baking the skates a 2nd time? I’m currently using super feet inserts as well and love them. Thanks for your help! Also my foot length to width ratio is almost exactly 2.5 cm.

Hey guys! I have a problem. I am currently skating in my bauer supreme total one nxg, 10.5 ee ( a whole size up from what i normally would use 9.5, also ee instead of d so should be way too big..), and I LOVE them. Never felt so comfie on the ixe before. Now my question, has ccm something comparable to these skates? because bauer is kind of not affordable anymore... Oh and if i were to buy ccm, id throw my tuuks with step steel on there :-)

They can't compare two stick with big differences. They could compare the 1X Lite VS. the Trigger2 because both are low-kick sticks to release the puck quickly. Same thing goes on with the skates: they compare skates with the same foot profile.

Jérémmy Pelchat but the jetspeed is the same concept as the nexus, the all in one stick, it’s not the same kickpoint but it’s made to do the same thing, the ribcor would be like the vapor, the supertacks is like the supreme and the nexus would be like the jetspeed

Its not even close, Bauer won by a lot. Now I get why everyone hates CCM

I'm fortunate that CCMs don't fit my feet...emailed their customer service about trying to buy product that i couldn't find in stores...CCM never replied back. Sent a letter to the President and again, no reply. This is how they treat their customers. If you care about service, do yourself a favor and go to Bauer. Heard of much better customer service stories. For low to mid end skates, I also hear Bauer skates offer more value (though top end Bauer/CCM are probably about the same). Just bought some Bauer Nexus skates and they're solid (wanted Vapors or Supremes but the Nexus fit me the best)

Jérémmy Pelchat I hat Bauer skates they destroy my ankles ccm doesn’t so in my opinion I like ccm better then Bauer but let’s be honest Mission skates are the best.

I've mananged to get new ccm pro stock skates for $300-375. I just snag the old models. Simply because of the price, I prefer CCM. Bauer's are priced for the rich and also the way their steel is shaped is bizzare. They are known for their toe bulbs which you have to pay for a profilling to get shaved off. Ccm CL and CCM tacks are both great skates. One day I'll try a ribcore. I just saw a pair of brand new prostock 50ks in my size sell for under $300. Show my Bauer's under $600. They are a joke.

Brandon Su the two nhlers with the biggest wow factor in terms of their skating abilities both use CCM (McDavid and Barzal). Bottom line a great player can be great in any pair of skates. People just bite the marketing bait. At best it'll give you a placebo boost. Any top of the line skates from either company should be more than enough as long as they fit properly.

Dante Hiestand how do the holders suck? Players like Crosby, Bergeron, McKinnon, McDavid, Burns wear them. Both do the same thing. You don't see ccm skate blades coming off during the middle of the a game! Bauer's are good skates I'm sure but they have the nasty toe bulb radius going on in their blades and are more expensive. Ccm all the way! eBay's got great deals on new pro stock ccms with better rivets and tounges for a fraction of the price as new release retail models.

stpierreorama my man, please read my other comment before saying i hate ccm. I love ccm, but for me personally the holders just don‘t feel right. Their angled forward too much... Thats why I prefer tuuks.
