One of the best things of Batu Caves is the free entrance for the main temple (Temple Cave/ Cathedral Cave)! For Cave Villa, the entrance fee for Malaysians and non-Malaysians are RM7 and RM15 respectively. For Ramayana Cave, the entrance fee is RM5, regardless of nationality

As a place of worship, it is advisable to dress appropriately when visiting Batu Caves. For ladies, long dresses or pants with covered shoulders are recommended, while men should opt for modest attire. Comfortable footwear, such as sneakers, is essential, especially when climbing the 272 steps.

The Batu Caves are open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. The best time to visit the Batu Caves is during the morning or evening, when it is cooler. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes, as there are a lot of steps to climb. Visitors should also dress respectfully, as the Batu Caves are a holy site
In 1920, wooden steps were installed to enable the pilgrims to reach the temple. In the 1930s, the stairs began to show signs of wear, and a decision was made to build concrete steps on the southern side of the cave complex. In 1940, 272 concrete steps were constructed, which exist till date. Caves from KL Sentral on the KTM Komuter line. The train runs from the stations Pulau Sebang - Batu Caves and vis versa.
