When my wife first came to America from a very poor rural part of Korea she thought the electric eye doors at supermarkets had invisible magic spirits that opened the doors for people and caught shoplifters. With a better knowlege of the technology that sounds silly, but for most practical purposes it works just as well as techy lingo.

That angel that showed up in Galactica wasn´t an angel, you gotta watch The Plan to understand what happens to that Caprica version.

True, but this was 2009 . The Plan was made in 2013 and so writers went back to answer questions that fans had and also explore their own answers that they hand not made yet. At the point of this question everyone pretty much assumed that it was an angel. You see Moore nod his head when Seth mentions this. And he says “yeah” later when they use it to explain that 6 is sometching more than just in Baltar`s head. So, they clearly changed their minds on it.

Poor Seth, lol. He just wanted concrete answers to a beautiful finale. We were told she was an angel from sn 1. I had no problem with the finale bc she said she was an angel. "When ppl tell you who they are, believe them." ~Maya ANGELou

@@leif1075Starbucks was brought back by God to bring humanity to its new home, end their civilization and become our Earth. God has been guiding humanity and the cylons through the angels and right from the beginning with the captured cylon we are taught that Starbucks is an instrument of God. She has visions of the destination of Earth as a child. Her dying would prevent the prophesy being fulfilled. The visions of the opera house mirrored the final scenes of protecting Herra and who was involved in the climax of the series (performance). All this has happened and it will again. We evolve and grow, develop technology which either destroys us or we destroy ourselves. God gives us another chance to do better as the 2 Angles comment at the end wondering if this will be time we break the loop. BSG does answer most of the main questions and has a very good resolution , but the clues are not explicitly mentioned. I used to hate the ending but in further rewatches I can see the religious themes running through right from the start.

@@leif1075they did resolve those issues. The answers are not explicit though. Since we know God is guiding humanity with the two angels and Kara is called an instrument of God way back in the earlier seasons (maybe even 1) by the cylon, it’s pretty safe to assume that God brought Kara back to lead Humanity to its end. If she dies, humanity doesn’t get to Earth. The opera scene is the climax (final performance) and shows the main characters involved in protecting Herra who is vital to humanity’s and cylon’s continued existence (us). All,this has happened and will again. So humanity evolves. Develops advanced technology. Either humanity kills itself or the technology rebels. God gives us another chance to survive, as the angels said at the end. You may not like religious answer and I initially had problems with it but It’s actually really well put together how they resolve everything.

I'm always struck by how many people HATED the finale because of Starbuck's ending. It was obvious she was an angel in human form. Leobon straight up told her/us. Head Six and Baltar were angels too. I think it's two things. People want to be spoon fed and beaten over the head. "I MUST GET A DETAILED EXPLANATION! THEY MUST TREAT ME LIKE A CHILD OR IT SUCKS! RON IS A BIG OLD POOPIEHEAD!" And secondly I think people would have hated ANYTHING. No matter what they did it would have sucked to them. "God" was always a theme in this show. It's perfectly consistent with the rest of the series. I don't get why so many people bitch about it. That's what the show always was.

People are annoyed because the original show bible written by Moore specifically stated that the series would be grounded in realism. They are annoyed because, as per his show bible and the original concept he talks about here, he wrote the character as though he had been driven mad by guilt. So, in the first two seasons, you aren't seeing angels. People think the ending sucks because they put in load of plot twists, they wrote the characters in particular ways and set up the show in a particular way, hardcore science fiction, and then failed to pay off on the concepts and in the end gave us a tale of mysticism and angels. Why is that important because the ending comes from different show and doesn't mesh with the work done in previous seasons. At the time of the last show Moore admitted on his blog that the writers had no idea what to do. They knew the written the plot into deep whole so they basically wrote a load of "character-porn" in the hope that their actors could could cover for them.

VC YT I think this was pre “the plan”. It played like it was head 6 & I think that’s how it was explained in the audio commentary but it’s been a long time since I listened to it. Then they made “the plan” and answered all the questions nobody was asking in the most unfulfilling way.
