its not so much how he holds up against other drummers its what he does in this band that makes him special imo

@Witchytoe agreed. He's my fave drummer as well. He's a drummer's drummer. Plays the drums like what they are, an instrument, not simply as a tool. Stanier is a musician through and through, not just a drummer.

I have listened to this every day for like a month, I love this band and especially John Stanier!!

one thing you wont be able to get from live footage is how crazy fucking loud these guys are holy shit you will definetley need to get some steroids in your ear from your ent after there set

Guitar, 2 keyboards + other shit - that one dude can't do it all. I think it's clear they need a fourth member, if only to tour with so the 3 active ones can really get down.

when Tyondai braxton was in the band he had just as complex of a setup for himself as the one ian williams has while also looping vocals on top of all of that.

Ian use a lot of loops, in Don Caballero he make 3 guitars with 1.
