2:28 The secondary crack (chose garand for how audible it is) of the guns about 1/2 second later is something I'll just never really forget about this game. Its not the only game to feature a somewhat "realistic" soundstage but in my opinion, there is just magic in how the bad company games projected sounds in an open area...

I always loved how they made the M79 tiger striped. Great apocalypse now easter egg.

Some weird issues i’ve joticed: - On the AK, the charging handle is blocked by the tape/cloth wrapped around it, which would prevent the rifle from cycling properly. -The Uzi is mirrored, portrayed as being closed bolt, and with a reciprocating charging handle. It’s actually an open bolt gun with a non-reciprocating charging handle. -The Thompson always fails to eject on the last round as evidenced by the player character manually ejecting the spent case when reloading, indicating a failure to extract. -The M16 is always cocked using the charging handle. This isn’t incorrect, but it unless the bolt release is damaged there’s no reason to not use it. -the PPSH-41’s iconic 71 round drum mag only holds 25 rounds. -The MAC-10’s ironsights are completely misaligned. Firing it like this would result in all rounds going a foot over your target’s head. -The M1 Garand’s 8-round en-bloc clips are only modeled with two rounds. -The M1911 and TT-33’s hammer don’t move, and the slide does not lock back after the last round is fired.

Accurate weapons for the era and setting, bizarrely mistakes in almost all weapons.

If you notice during the M1 Garand reload the en bloc clip only has 2-3 rounds in it

Like Battlefield Bad Company 2 & other Battlefield games prior to Battlefield 3, reloading the weapon even if the magazine still has the ammo, it still pull the crackling that shoots the gun.

Mines are sometimes really weird, unless you play bf1.

Very good sounds, especially the Garand (and the ping tho)

Sounds and graphics hold up so well

the thing about this game is that the animations are beautiful but they did it all wrong... 5:10 you wasted a perfectly good M48...

Yeah don't get me wrong the models look excellent. But (and YES THIS me nit picking) the following things don't make sense 1. The SVD Dragunov in the game was modeled off a .308 Chinese NDM. These were imported into the US during the 80s. 2. The M16's sights are incorrect (way too large) and the magazine is a 20 round magazine. Also why does the character pull the operating rod back, when you can hit bolt release with your thumb. 3. The AK and RPK sights are just weird and wrong. They're not lined up with a rear sight and this creates the impression the shooter is tilting the barrel too high. I reckon they modeled it off an AEG airsoft gun. Hence, the fact the character does pull back the charging handle. 4. The UZI fires from an open bolt. I reckon, just like the AK they modeled the gun off an airsoft gun. 5. AND AAH THE M40 Remington's cocking piece does not seem to move. When you cycle bolt notice how they did not model a visible chamber or a round being chambered. And much much more. I loved this game, it was fun. These are just some small details I picked up.

Love the sound design.

Bullet cracks in the distance were some of the best in its time.

This was such a good game for it's time miss this game:(

Yet they still did better than their competitors. I gave them a pass because they're Europeans, they've given up most of their rights regarding firearms so most of the devs have probably never seen one in person, let alone handled them. The "Battlefield Bad Company" franchise is the best out of the "Battlefield" franchise as a whole. They nailed all three categories, visual, audio and gameplay. Other franchises in the FPS genre couldn't compete with the quality that DICE was producing, until EA ruined everything as per usual. Now Battlefield is an improved CoD clone, continuing the cycle and dependence on short attention spans and all action all the time. If ESRB ratings mattered, we wouldn't have all these pitiful fast paced, mindless shooters that get pumped out annually to suck as much out of younger audiences and continually giving them less.

lmaoooo it looks like the casings are coming out of the muzzle on the M16 scratch that looks like that’s the case for most guns too

Cool detail that the animations almost perfectly mimic the original's.

Battlefield didn't get realistic animations till 3 not that people wanted that in BC series. Game was goofy all around and made it fun to play and remember.

Don't know why this was a DLC, they can seriously make an all out Battlefield Vietnam and it would be a smash hit

After playing RS2 I wish this game had more weapons for reds. Like we get M14 and Garand for US forces, but not even Mosin or SKS as an equivalent. Or add one more (PPS) submachinegun. And I wish they gave reds an ACTUAL machinegun (Read: RPD) instead of just AK with long barrel. Other than that I have really fond memories of this game.

and the fact that it looks like it's shooting double action when the 1911 is a single action only pistol

As you can see, all the bullet casing are ejected from the barrel of the gun, or anywhere except the reciever.

We need a remake of original Battlefield Vietnam more options and stuff to do and music was awesome :D

Legit it gave a second breath to bc2 back then, was a bit expensive but honestly worth the price.

Well that's weird, the SVD in this game has a straight magazine which would imply it's modeled after the .308 version of the Chinese SVD copy, which didn't exist until at least the 80s.

The best sounds of weapon

If halo's assault rifle sounded as aggressive and raw as the m16 does here (0:38) I would consider playing again. The OG halo AR sounded bad ass.

All weapons are ballanced in 100% this is good thats why I need play this game!

2nd pistol slide didn't move when fired. AK-47 didn't need cocking

I just realized the shell of bullet from M16 is out from the tip of the barrel? 🤣😂

I hate how the TT-33 used the same audio as the base game’s MP-443 Grach, the XM22 used the same audio as the base game’s M249, and the UH-1 used the same audio as the base game’s UH-60.

God i missed those weighty and satisfying reload animations

When reloading a Kalashnikov after inserting the fresh magazine you are supposed to rack the weapon. Same thing for the M14 and the M21. Also the M14 was semi automatic not fully automatic

Really wish this was it's own big time game, story mode and all. Battlefield was the only one that could make this experience real, gritty, and not over the top ridiculous. Really gave it justice. Hands down BEST Vietnam War game EVER! ❤
