@@idrissberchil25 i play as commander on bf4 alot and i use to play it alot on the app. One if the main problems i believe i came across was a glitch where there was 2 commanders on one side. I joined on app and there would already be one commander on both sides, so 3 commanders. So me and another guy would moreless you the same keyboard controling one commander spot

Would Be Nice it's great the Commander Mode is in the Game for people who want a more relaxed time from the SKY

There is one thing that destroys my fun in the commander mode: You can not voice chat to all squad-leaders at the same time. Thats a problem for verbal orders that concern your whole team. Even though: The idea is really really nice. Hope, there will be something like this in Battlefront too.

We were deceived on Siege on Shanghai no AC-130

For Battlefield 1942 a mod came out around 2003 called Desert Combat that was a full conversion mod that made all vehicles, weapons and soldiers well modern. It was so successful DICE acquired the team, they later collaborated on Battlefield 2 which was a modern combat game, the gameplay was also team based with squads implemented for organized matches thanks to each tea, having a commander. Call of Duty came out in 2003, built on a modified engine that RTCW ran on Quake III Team arena engine.

Back when Dice and EA actually cared about gameplay

Would be nice If the Commander got Clips of kills or CCTV cameras for extra Spoting with more Extra Machines to Spawn In maby Bots who defend or barricade doors

I really miss this!!! I hope they bring.back more.modern type of warfare in the next battlefield 2020/2021/2022. And that they bring back the commander in both it's own app, and in the game. TBH I ma starting to get tired AF of this old type of warfare. Give us some modern stuff now. It been several games down memory lane now. Enough!

You apparently get to use a "C-190" in commander mode. It appears in one of the offensives in the commander screen

In 2005 Battlefield 2 came out, heavily team based, with squad combat, a single Commander on each team, had control of squads and could coordinate strategies on the map. He was able to drop ammo drops, vehicles, call in artillery strikes anywhere on the map. There's a squad leader inside an attack helicopter? He would order that chopper to attack a certain position, same with jets to drop bombs on a an area. You were able to rank up and unlock new weapons for your classes.

Yes, you'll only be able to use it on a tablet until august 2015. How stupid.

Call of Duty 1 was intense on PC, gun flashes were bright and intense and sounds sharp and loud, I would get startled everytime I would die. RTCW Enemy Territory was released around this time too, it was supposed to be an expansion pack for the original RTCW but they made it a free online game. It was cool because the spririt of RTCW was the same, unique maps with its own unique objectives. But it had one new thing, ranking and abilities. You'd rank up via XP bar. TBC...

As a teenager I was super hyped when I saw this In BF2 and 2142, you could be a commander and play as a soldier at the same time. It was quite strange how Dice removed commander from BF3 and BC2. So as a fan of those older games I was really excited when I saw the trailer for BF4 commander mode back in 2013 Unfortunately I never got around to playing BF4 Recently I bought the game and I'll definitely be trying out commander mode :)

PS4 and later Xbox One. I'm getting both for sure.

So the iPad is the Navy and/or Air Force, and the console we play the game on is infantry. I look forward to this as soon as the release comes.

Battlefield 1942 was for me, and still is one of the greatest games ever. Just after Trespasser and Lineage 2 :P. Would be sweet to see an up-to-date 1942 later on, would be so sweet.

I hope they keep the "commander online" voice in game, sends shivers down my spine... soooo excited for bf4 and the commander mode.. i feel like they've outdone themselves on this one!!

Battelfield peaked at this game

This was a HUGE mistake. The commander needs to be on the ground with the rest of the troops. A god-like commander sitting on his toilet with an iPad and dropping cruise missiles on everyone is not fun for the players on the ground.

when I joined as a commander I though I was going to be in the war itself, but I guess the commander would need to be in a safe location. Also I have played as the commander and it's ok, I appreciate them adding it but it's kinda boring because you can't really do much. The only things you can do is scan with a UAV, give orders to squad leaders, and depending on how much your helping you get points, there are 3 levels of option to support your team and each level needs more points. ONLY when your team controls certain points do you have access to 2 different whole map scans and a missles. It's not God like either it's slow as shit and most of the time won't hit because the target moves. I say it's well balanced because then it would be easily abused. (also the missiles or ac 130 option is usually the hardest point to cap.

derbenjii I don't care if they sit in bunkers, as long as those bunkers are on the ground and the recon who runs a suppressor on his DMR can sneak to the back of the map and knife him!

They would add to the commander skills progression and some incentives to pump the soldier like boosters or non-donate lootboxes and there would be a great symbiosis of those who are at home playing as a soldier and those who go home and play as a commander.

It'd be cool if the Commander has a physical character model but walks around in his secluded bunker, accessing the various consoles. It would give a nice aesthetic touch to the role, as opposed to just looking at a screen the whole game.

I phrased that wrong. What I mean is the falling building and the base jumping off damavand peak. Those moments when you sit back and ask yourself "did that just happen"?

Bring back BF2/2142 Commander on the field. You can make him to have destructible bunkers here and there so she/he can safely command and deploy assets for her/his troops. Make those assets destructible and repairable as well (UAV trailers, satellite uplinks, cruise missile command centers...) scattered around the objectives to have incentive to PTO. Here is one needed in depth feature for 5, to add one extra layer of dynamic to the game play!

Like in Battlefield 2, there was an option to Mutiny against the commander and if the vote passed, then someone else had the option to apply for the commander post.

i'm getting battlefield 5 on ps4 like in about 3 years not now just rocking my ps3 playing bf4.

I probably spent hundreds of hours in Commander mode loved it it was great

24 players are only for current gen. 64 will be available on the next gen consoles. I think you can get a next gen consoles version of the game for like $5 more.

G3A3 Dart glitch, MAVelevator glitch, Jet no damage flying into Heli glitch, Metro rooftop glitch, Grand Bazarr under map glitch, Medpack wall break glitch, player invulnerability glitch, repair torch glitch, MAV road kill glitch, Auto Spotting glitch, USAS frag rounds (glitch or stupidity take your pick), Suppression balncing mistake x2, and all the weapons in their categories have 90% same damage at drop off. Lookin forward to bf4.
