That’s really kind of you to say and thanks a lot for letting me know you’re enjoying the channel - that’s what its all about. I started this for a few reasons but one is certainly to show that absolutely anyone can have fun with bf2042 & I’m proving that with these videos. I didn’t know how to use Lis before 3.2, and I didn’t know how to use the Bolte until I really had a go with it (honestly I was trying to get funny footage for something else but it turned out the Bolte is amazing & deserved to be taken seriously). It’s the same with the Apache - I was really awful with it until I finally figured out what I was missing with the help of some others, especially Marzipan Dan & Cabal 2040. Even the Joker AT Mines video is, if you look past the jokes, actually a guide… as is the GTA hijacking vid. I always try to show something new in the game. I’m wanting to show how great this game is, the depth it has and how it’s accessible to absolutely anyone. If I can do it, anyone can do it. It’s fantastic fun if you just enjoy it & I do honestly think some of the bigger KZreadrs are atrociously rude to the Dev staff. We know the game was a hot mess at launch, not defending it but covid didn’t help for sure. Since season 1 I’ve really seen the effort to pull the game back into shape and I’m thankful for that. Wish I had more subs or a way to get that message out - all I can do is keep going! Thanks again and hope you continue to enjoy the game & the channel. Have you ever noticed that, in some instances, you can keep certain enemy players alive and you just know it's better off than them respawning for revenge? Or distracting you from a different enemy? Aka reinforcements. while it lets you take the objective faster or hold it until teammates arrive. An example would be a shotgun player. If you keep their distance they will simply hide and they cannot eliminate you unless they close the distance on you. Or they will respawn and get the drop on you from approaching a different direction or while your attention is shifted on a new enemy/ squad that appears. Or even you can eliminate someone who has high ground or is sniping you, then they respawn closer to you while you are taking the objective and damage you making you vulnerable for the next attack. This is just as noticeable when you're in a vehicle and more people become aware of where you are and that you might respawn with anti-vehicle gear. There are many moments like this that can present themself at a moments notice. I call it selective engaging but I think trigger discipline is a familiar term.

I think I understand this - you’re saying when you take out a player that was farther away or not all equipped to deal with you, but then they respawn right in top of you having changed class / gear, only to make your life more difficult? I’ve never considered not killing an opponent for that reason - but I know I certainly do that (change my load out to match the opponent I’m after if nobody is dealing with it). Am I understanding this correctly?

@@timelessgamer_UK yes correct. They become aware of your presence and position and of the areas of the objective you are in or wander and the areas you haven't wandered into. Another example is I know I've even had to pause before eliminating a group of snipers at close range or of a group trying to flank a map because I wasn't sure how many are actually huddled together. Or because I decide to eliminate the suppressor user before their other teammates. and one or many of them might have a suppressor or stronger weapon than their next teammate and could start pushing on an objective and eliminating unsuspecting nearby friendly players. Or even have a nearby spawn beacon that should be located. There's many examples of using selective engaging.

I have to be honest I’m not a huge fan of Dozer - his shield is OP in my opinion. I’d personally want to see it be destructible or have some more meaningful mechanic to beat him. That said great vid as always and glad you’re enjoying the game - that’s what it’s all about!

Yeah like Overwatch 2 Reinhardt shield. Abuse it and it breaks. Yeah something like that could definitely work. I get Dozer is a bit divisive but I do think he brings a layer to the game which forces people to mix it up, and to me that’s only a good thing. Sure we get the boop brigade who just run around without much team play in mind, but having him as a wall in your squad is a lot of fun. I hear you, but on balance I would like to keep a version of him in the game. Not at all against destructible shields!

If dozer gets hit by a rocket or a tank shell he brings the shield down and is stunned for a second.

@@Goldendroid the thing with this stagger animation though is it's difficult to make much use of. If it were to stop him dead & last day 3 seconds we might have something, but honestly I've never really been able to 'catch him out' with it. I'll need to work on it!

Great video as always. Glad you managed to get it done in time! In terms of him shrugging off tank rounds I just give it the ol' Metal Gear Solid explanation of "nanomachines". I head cannon away a lot of 2042's more... Eccentric lets say, gameplay mechanics with "nanomachines". Back in the day the best way to counter was to literally run at him and side jump at the last moment to out manoeuvre him. I don't think that really works anymore. Lately I've just been shooting them in the foot and if that doesn't work I mostly just accept my fate. I've attempted laying down an AT mine and blowing it up at his feet but so far no luck.

I’m a huge metal gear fan so now all I can hear in my head is David Hayter saying “nanomachines” over and over again! There’s got to be something we can do with that in a vid (like a blooper reel or something), I’ll work on it 😜 OK so honestly… I’ve always considered Dozer to be a bit of a donkey. Sure everyone gets booped once of twice but for the most he wasn’t really making an impression on me. I see huge potential for this character, especially when playing with a squad. A Dozer, a support and two engineers would just be the ticket to awesomeness. I’m really concerned that it would seem to me another bandwagon has left the station & I’m worried Dice will respond with the nerf hammer. I think there’s a lot of value in having a character that breaks the gunplay & forces an adjust. Even if we need a few nanomachines to do it (Jesus how good was that fight at the end of MGS4, even having crawled through a microwave 🤪🤪🤪 quick little injection of some top shelf nanomachines and we’re back in business!) I’m pleased to say I have and also recorded AT mine killing Dozers 💪

@@timelessgamer_UK Holy shit I would love to see some Metal Gear worked into your edits. I grew up on that series. More than just even David Hayter quotes ("kept ya waiting" after blowing up a camping tank for instance) would be awesome. Hell, the whole Cobra unit is based on emotions felt on the BATTLEFIELD. So much to use. Fatman might also have some good quotes ("the purpose of a bomb" etc) to pull for AT mine footage. I T1'd Dozer back in the day (what a grind!) and had some fun with him. But I've always known he had more potential just off watching Squid G, who uses him and Sundance and only those two. He shows what can really be done with Dozer - and that was before the patch. I do think a nerf will come for Dozer. A week ago I would have been not as sure. But tonight I played the new season event - nothing but Dozers. Ain't enough incendiary grenades in the world. It's a real problem, and I think Dice will respond with the nerf hammer. Can't wait to see you kill him with an AT mine! By the way, yes that microwave scene and the subsequent fight are top tier moments in gaming for me, for sure. In fact I think all of them have fantastic endings, except unfortunately MGS V. The ending was where that all came apart for me. Enjoy your break! Sorry I couldn't reply sooner.

Absolutely dirty my man xD fun fact you can defib Dozer shields, and it will kill them. It's a pretty effective way of dealing with the Dozens of Dozers currently running the map. I have to say nothing generally makes me t-bag ... but outplaying a Dozer gets me to do the dip.

Dozers by the Dozen - there’s an anime there. I will do the dip (as you saw at the end!) when I take out a shameless spawn camper. Extra strong cup of tea for them. Defibrillator on Dozer - I’ll have to give that a try! I’ve not really made my leave with support classes yet I need to give it a go. Dozer appealed for the raw aggression. I mean look… Dozer doing his job isn’t a bad thing and I know you didn’t say it was. It’s fun when he pops up and perhaps because of my load out I don’t really have too many issues killing him. Snipers vex me far more than Dozers do. I liked trying to back my team up by being the blocker & not just endlessly booping people. We’d be less for not having him. Maybe make the shield destructible…

Hey, if it's fun for you and you are playing the objective, I'm happy xD I do think a nerf will come through. Since Reddit is losing their mind about him. Having his shield be destructible would be good.

My understanding is that an enemy Dozer crouching up and down is not a challenge to a duel, but an invitation to apply the "Dozer code". This is the understanding that you will both walk away. It's definitely a thing. I've done is quite a few times recently.

But then you're also both committing treason. 😂 It's also very hit-and-miss when it comes to who is in the loop. I've been caught out a couple of times believing we had come to an understanding only to have the back of my head smashed in by a ballistic shield.

Thanks a lot for the super kind message - cool you’re in Switzerland, my brother & family live there so I visit quite regularly. Hope you’re having a good summer! Definitely reinstall it and have a go. BF2042 is in amazing shape, yes it had a horrific start but that’s all in the past. Also season 6 is about to start in October so this is a good time to reinstall and warm up :) Dozer is brilliant fun and it would be a huge huge loss if he were to come out of the game. The shield is excellent, especially when you use it as intended to lead pushes into crowded areas or hold out as a defender in a corridor. He’s tricky to fight at first because you can’t just shoot him (obviously) which I think upsets a lot of players, but with a little thought & experience of fighting him, he’s actually got a few weaknesses and is quite beatable! Like any specialist, he becomes especially dangerous when supported by other specialists that keep him alive / compensate for his weaknesses. Ever seen what happens when Crawford and Angel work together? 😈 Really hope you enjoy the channel and let me know what you think! The channel is still quite young so I’m trying new things out. Some do better than others but we need to keep it fun / can’t keep doing the same old thing! Let me know how you get on if you do come back to the game!

@@timelessgamer_UK ofc! I just randomly found out it’s the best counter mostly since they will be walking slowly.. meaning the fire will do more damage either killing them or they will panic and put the shield away so you can blast them

Im going for my tier 1 mastery with the 880 shotgun. So dozer is a great way to close the distance before blasting them with the shotgun :D

I think Dozer shouldn't be able to block tank shells and maybe Crawfords turret should go through the shield. A hit with a rocket launcher should either also go through the shield or instead of the animation make him put his shield away and give it like a 3 second cooldown perhaps. Apart from that he is fine imo. The maps are large and open and he needs to be in melee range to be any sort of problem. And even then he only really is nearly unstoppable if you are in an extremely tight space. If you have 5 meters to work with, its easy enough to just jump around him. I have been playing him before the buff as my main as I like being a more aggressive character that goes for the objective and he helped me a lot with all the explosive spam (also since everyone was making fun of him, talking how trash he is. I have a tendency to root for the underdog). But before the buff sometimes you would bash people with his shield into a wall 7 times in a row and not get the kill. His turn radius made it super easy to get around him. Now you consistently get the hits with his shield if you get close enough and if you are skillful with him, you can sometimes counter enemies trying to jump around you (given they do it a little too close to you)

Thanks for the detailed thoughts - I think I could make peace with Dozer’s shield being destructible. For instance an RPG or M5 would take it out but Dozer survives. Say a 15 second cool-down and you can spawn another shield. I think that would work well for Crawford too, a few seconds of being in the line of fire can be survived, but if you just sit there the shield will break. As for tank shells… I mean, honestly I find it funny he can do this, though of course it’s an absolute nonsense he can I’m not going to defend it in the least. Head says it should be removed, heart says let him keep it but lose the shield as a result. Honestly I’ve never had a problem fighting Dozers. I do play classes & load outs equipped to deal with him, I just never really saw him as a threat. I am much more vexed by Snipers who drop you form half the map away & you had no chance to counter. Not calling for snipers to be nerfed - just saying imo there’s way more out there than Dozers to worry about. I wanted to try Dozer because I could see a lot of the KZread giants piling in on him & it didn’t feel right. I don’t want to see optionality taken out of the game with cries of “nerf” so wanted to see what it was all about for myself and I’m super glad I did. Dozer is a great alternative to Engineer gameplay and I think we’d be worse off if he got pushed back into the box he was in. I really do rate him as a part of the squad! @@timelessgamer_UK he was always my main and he could do most of the things ppl praise him for before his buff. However the Update made him more "beginner-friendly". Like before when I started using him, I ignored his shield for the first matches and slowly got the hang on how and when to use it. Now these decisions are a little more forgiving. I was honestly scared of him becominf OP with the Update but I don't really see him that often. Defintely more often than before the buff, but still nowhere near as much as Mackkay. :D Apparently they nerf his bash range next week, which is ok I think.

Thanks for the shout out! OK so I wasn’t expecting to get away with saying no nerf, I can see people aren’t universally Dozer fans! Do you play Overwatch? If so, I’d say Dozer’s shield could be made like Reinhardt’s. if not, basically the premise is the shield is damageable. If you take to the mick by sitting in front of massive firepower it breaks pretty quickly. You have a cool down penalty until it regenerates. I could see that working with small fire arms & higher caliber vehicle weapons at an accelerated rate. BUT if all vehicle weapons just penetrate… Dozer doesn’t stand a chance & players would be forced most of the time to back off tackling armour. If he were to be nerfed, I think Dozer needs to be able to last at least a few seconds in the face of a vehicle to close the distance. If he can’t - well frankly it’s back to Mackie C5 zipwire fun. What do you think? Reckon that could work?

funfact, the shield ricochets bullets and you can actually kill people with it, had a falck lying in front of me while i was crouching, one of the bullets ricochets back and headshoted her. It's a one in a thousand chance but funny af. alltho i got the issue that some people (funnyly enough every time the exact same people) that just shout straight through my shield :c and idk why xD

Thanks for the comment - I know it can be done but I’ve never, ever seen it pull off for me. I’d love it if it did, funny af wouldn’t cover it. A bit sus the same player shoots through your shield… reminds me of a player on the Asian server who managed to get 4 kills on Stranded Breakthrough in the opening 10 seconds (how they did that with no vehicles & teams spawning behind hills to this day remains a ‘mystery’). @@timelessgamer_UK the funny stuff you do keeps me playing since it makes me wanna do meme stuff aswell but it's hard to do at least on the eu-servers there are so many sweats/sus people it's hard to keep them apart. My theory is that these people might use vpn for a latency.bogus that helps them to get around the shield, one of that guys comes from the same country as me so normal latency can't be an issue. otherwise i have no clue how they get through. On Lis the only time I’ve bounced a Lissile was totally, utterly by accident and it didn’t lead to any positive outcomes! If a trick shot landed, KZread Shorts would be the first to know 😂👍 I’m glad you’re enjoying the fun side of gameplay - I probably shouldn’t say this but I really don’t care about the scoreboard unless a certain Clan / Guild whom I have a little beef with turns up… then I use my Secret Weapon Paik who I still think is the most powerful & underrated Specialist in the entire game. Otherwise, whilst I always play seriously (I’ll never waste vehicles or deliberately be an ass) I like to try as many new things as I can in the game. Setting myself little challenges like killing spawn campers, stealing tanks or AT Mining people just adds a little spark when it’s a bit slow. Dozer was kinda the same - I wanted something new and hey look, that dude’s got a Riot Shield. I didn’t expect him to be so good, seriously - he’s on the roster now! I’ve seen some really incredible things on Shorts but I’m sorry - I don’t believe they actually happened in a public match! That must have been people messing around in Portal until they got that one in a million occurrence 😂 Keep at it, and keep having fun. Who cares who wins :)

@@timelessgamer_UK i just played a round of conquest with dozer to affirm both of our opinion, played on Stranded 64 Conquest and got 50 kills Once you confine yourself to the corridors of C1 and C2, the enemy literally doesnt know how to fight you, and you can push out an entire squad by yourself, he's amazing

50 kills is pretty heroic - I don’t think I’ve crossed 25 or so. I’m too addicted to going after vehicles, they’re too tasty to leave & I love soaking tank shells / Wildcat fire. Trollolol is just too much fun. But yeah he’s the God of captures, top tier IMO

Ok so honestly I’ve never fought a squad of Dozers, so this is my “what would I do” advice if faced off against a pack of pissed off Rhinos… RPGs to the feet are savage against them, as are underbarrel HE shots. Incendiary grenades also stop him dead. I would imagine if they’re all in a concentrated area a few of you firing in would take them out without any real issue. That said and I’m really thinking here - if the Dozers were playing smart & not just running around shouting “this is Sparta”, spreading out & corner camping then yeah it’s going to take quite a few of you to dig them out as you won’t have enough explosive rounds alone. It’s a tough fight for sure! Honestly to kill Dozer get an Engineer with an RPG and an Underbarrel HE. Or some C5 and incendiary grenades. Dozer’s very weak to these as he’s slow and can’t shoot back if he’s got his shied up. That’s the best I’ve got for you if you’re solo. If you’re in a squad yourself, spread out. Dozer’s shield can be got around fairly easily. That’s what I’d do anyway - good luck, let me know how it goes!

I think dozer is pretty awesome too, people complain that he's op and it can seem like it when I'm top of the leaderboard in a match with very few or no deaths but he has real counters and they're not inaccessible either. I don't really have trouble taking other dozers out. Zains airburst btw is another good one for when you need to get past a chokepoint dozer is guarding. The airburst rounds go off behind him if you set the range right but it will take at least 5 shots I've found because of his explosive resistance

Honestly I don’t really have too many issues with Dozer. He can be a pain but that’s fine - I die to Snipers a hell of a lot more than I do his shield. He also adds a nice layer of mechanics when he’s integrated into a squad. There were a few times I was in a random party that gelled well & we did cool things. I’d hate to see that lost. Also agree he’s quite manageable as an opponent. Eng has their launchers or C5, or you have a Dozer of your own who can step up and challenge. I mean if Mackie can zipwire all the way onto a tank, why’s it wrong that Dozer can’t walk up at reduced speed with a shield 😅 I really hope he doesn’t get nerfed out of existence. If it needs a few tweaks on behalf of the community then so be it but to remove him would be a big loss. Thanks for the comment!

Ok so here’s my question to you - what IS the best weapon? An Assault Rifle? SMG? Marksman? Sniper? Rapid fire or single shot / burst with high damage? The best weapon in the game is entirely dependent on your preferred play style. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa! Personally I like the Assault Rifles and LMGs. I dislike weapons that have a long range. What works for you? Let me know - if it’s something I use too sure, I can add it to the list :)

Doozer is pretty lame in my opinion. No skills needed, not a great help for the teammates either. I never played a game that a Doozer was a game changer. It is fun to kill those corner camping noobs tho. That being said, I'm loving your vids, well done.

Thanks and glad you’re enjoying the vids. I found I wasn’t giving Dozer enough credit in his ability to make me smile & actually be useful on Objectives. I just enjoy cycling through everything the game has to offer & showing you can have a good laugh being say 50% good with any Specialist / Vehicle etc. To stick up for Dozer (just for fun) I’ll give him his due on taking and holding Objectives & pissing off / distracting vehicles. Creeping up on a Wildcat that can’t do anything about you but run is quite funny :D If only he could block railgun shots…

Dozer needs to go man 😂😂 that shield is annoying bro 😭

Noooo come on don’t kick my Dozer out of the game, he’s too much fun! 😂 Who doesn’t love a Captain America on steroids running around tanking tank shells & holding back more opponents in a hallway than the Spartan 300 😂

dozer is such a goofy character, just run at people and bash them with your shield

Yeah you can do that and it works, but I think he’s got so much more & is brilliant to have in a squad. He’s also a monster against vehicles if you bring your C5 :)

I add them as fast as I can! Please understand this is a hobby I have to fit in around work, family, friends and even going to the gym now and then. I do try to do one a week but over school holidays or periods of high work activity / business trips it can be a bit longer. All I can say is I make videos as quickly as life allows, and I would always prefer to delay than release something half done. Hope you understand :) As for adding me yeah go ahead, happy to play with anyone. Please note though 1) I play when my schedule allows. It’s totally unpredictable because that’s life! If you see me online, ping me 2) I’m in South East Asia. Depending on the distance between us the matches may be unenjoyable for one or the other. We just have to see what happens.
