Even tho not much of bf1 is focused on naval combat, I have to say they fuckimg nailed it. Heligoland even tho it plays shit never fails to amaze when playing as a small boat, all the big explosions, ships sinking, airships bombing u etc

Visuals and audio are good, but scale is completely wrong. Dreadnought class battleships had guns with 15 km range, not 1 km :)

It's a great vehicle map but a terrible infantry map

No multiplayer game (to this day) nails the atmosphere and epic feeling of Bf1. Everything just looked so cinematic.

@@cookiecraze1310 WarThunder will be the only other game that has Submarines as well which were a critical part of sea control during WW2 so they count as well towards Naval Combat, they dont have Subs yet, but they for sure will implement them in the future and 1000x better than that bullshit World of Warships did.. also WarThunder's Naval Combat is very different compared to WoWs and requires way more skill in aiming in my opinion.

@@Drnken229 warthunder will likely never get submarines, because they'll be too good at higher BR's. Destroyers and planes are the only ships that could damage them, but are both easily clapped by light cruisers, heavy cruisers and battleships.

@@cookiecraze1310 Well I really enjoyed the April Fools, and that was very modern Submarines already. To balance the Subs they could pump up the repair costs, together with Sonar and Depth Charges you can already fight Submarines well, there are even planes with magnetic bombs which can also be attracted towards Submarines and you could just as well add depth charges to plane armament. WarThunder has all the possibilities to implement Submarines in a fair mannered way.

@@jesuschrist1275 I remember being iffy about this game when I saw the live reveal. Once I got used to the game, I loved it. It was very different, but it kept the core elements of a battlefield game. The behemoths and elite classes were a risky addition for the battlefield franchise at the time, but they absolutely fkn nailed it. Went back to BF1 on PC last month, My gawd it’s a still a breathtaking experience.

God imagine if they'd continued behemoths into bfv, omg a working train on the bridge of Rotterdam, or a aircraft carrier bringing increased aircraft support as well as acting as a mobile base in the Pacific

BF1, the epitome of immersion: minimal customization, great visuals and sounds, epic maps and brilliant voice acting. Nothing will ever come close to this game again.

Games like this make me wish for a kind of virtual reality mode where you can wear a vr headset to look around yet still play on mouse and keyboard or control- so you get the full 360 view of being there withlut having to deal with all the vr bullshit

The most beautiful and atmospheric Battlefield to this day. BF1 still has so much unused potential in terms of story and factions, it's a shame that its expension got halted so early in favor of BFV development.

This was great, BF1 was sooo good for moments like this. What an atmosphere with the dark skies and bad weather, every seat on all those vehicles lets you be a part of the battle, you never feel too left out during the ride. All the crazy explosions, gunfire and sounds. They did a great job on this game

It’s without a doubt the most cinematic multiplayer game I’ve ever played. Nothing like when you’re playing operations and you have to push on to the next objective, the whistles sound, everyone’s charging and screaming, the music swells, always gives me chills.

the fact that he had an escort earlier if you saw another ship. This looked like a real naval battle in a Battlefield game

Nice video, but it's interesting how the guy yells out it's a Dreadnought class battleship. But the ship they're firing on is not HMS Dreadnought, it's an Orion class Super Dreadnought.

The Battleship used for the naval dreadnought is the HMS Iron Duke.

Although the Orion class has only one smokestack/funnel, while the one in the game has two, seen at 3:16 It is not a new york class BB (1912/1914 pre-modernized configuration) due to the superstructures being different so it does look more like an Iron Duke class BB, with double funnels, similar lifeboat configuration, and correct superstructure, from what I can tell

Migrated to PC. It's doing pretty damn well. Certain dlcs arent as active though. It's a shame.

Last game to have big ship battles was Battlefield 1942, the OG BF, let that sink in (pun intended).

Best atmosphere and gameplay in any Battlefield so far. Truly amazing. After this it went down hill :(
