I used to listen to ffdp occasionally throughout my teenage years, but lemme tell ya.. Once you serve this country and start getting bounced around everywhere as a soldier, songs like this really hit you.

When you do join, there's two major things that are gonna dictate your experience in the army. The first is what you choose to do, i.e. airborne, air assault, other various courses, schooling, or just getting out and doing things in your free time. And the second is simply your unit. You can control the first one, but if you're stuck with a not-so-great unit or a not-so-great duty station, that can really suck at times. Before you join, have a well thought out plan of what you want to accomplish while you're in the army because a lot of soldiers don't consider all their options and just go throughout the years regretting them.

Matt Kamer thank you for the heads up. I have most of it planned out but I don’t have all of it planned out. And it helps to have a soldier give me the information I need so thank you. And I want my MOS to be 13 delta or Infantry. And yeah I’m already thinking about my unit. But thanks again for the heads up

Geez I hope you live long. Usually people with cerebral palsy are born with it and live short lives, dying in early adulthood or before early adulthood

I felt so bad for myself...but when I listen to this I realized I still got hope left for myself

Thank you for writing this song... I am a post 9/11 veteran who served in combat, lost friends in a helicopter crash, came home from the war and the VA denied me of my ptsd claim and will not compensate me. I got zero for my service and have trouble holding jobs. I was accused of being inside car that outran the police and didn’t have money for a lawyer. No finger prints, no dna linked me to the crime. The cops never caught the driver and I was given a public defender who never met with me before the trial. I was sent to prison for a crime I didn’t commit. Everyday there is this lil voice in the back of my head that tells me to end my life. I don’t know why it’s there but it never goes away. I fight through everyday and give love and respect to everyone I encounter. I am drug free and try hard to just keep pushing through the disappointments that life brings. That voice amplifies in my head when I don’t receive love, respect, or gratitude from someone I love or try to hold a relationship with... it just fails every time because I am not capable of feeling anything from anyone at all. And I don’t know why. But I do know one thing... I love me some five finger death punch tunes and the gym. The war on the ground is behind me but the war in my head continues... I am battle born and I won’t lose this fight against the thoughts that come creeping in when the world seems to spit me out.

Your a true hero. But YOU have to be the one to remind yourself of that.

When I was younger (teen years and under) I was so selfish. Didn't care about others or animals I just didn't care. The older I got the more i went through in life (now 24) went through quite a bit it's like my heart opened. I started to feel so sorry for the homeless and for animals and children who were being neglected and abused. I still pick up any dog or cat i see on the side of the road. Give my last dollar to anyone who needs it. One day I seen something online that was so terrible I couldn't stop balling my eyes out. I ran to my dad (who was well at the time) and asked him why God decided to all of a sudden give me a heart. I felt like I was cursed i told him. I hate seeing people suffer and not being able to help them. Then my dad told me, "Your good heart may feel like a curse to you, but it's a blessing to others. That's your super power. It may hurt now but when you go to heaven God will give u a robe to wear that's full of your good deeds." I don't know if that's true, but it sure as hell made me feel better.

I used to care about other people all the time, more then about myself, people started to use it against me. This went on for a few years till I got a breakdown because of it. Now, how bad it even sounds, I just stopped caring so much and I see the bad parts in people more then the good ones. Nothing really touches me anymore, I guess it makes me a bad person then

@@kevinroobaert2246 I feel like one day God just woke me. Like my whole life I was waking like a zombie. My dad recently passed away this year. Before he died I told him sorry for this one certain day that I look back at out of all the others. I balled my eyes out to him not understanding how heartless I use to be. There’s a reason why we are numb and all of a sudden start feel. And in your case start to not feel at all. Learn to close yourself off and put up that wall.

I'll admit, I've never really listened to Five Finger Death Punch. However, their songs have really been growing on me recently.

This song makes me emotional. It really speaks if you know what he's getting at.

My Wife is in Prison and songs like this is what makes me cry and keep going.

People say they lost alot of fans, but I can tell you they gained 26 million more.

I had overcome so much in my life before this song came out and when i heard it for the first time it became the only song that keeps me motivated to keep fighting because i am battle tested and BATTLE BORN... To all my first responder brothers and sister and our military stand with me as we are all Battle Born

This song reminds me so much of my dad. 26 years in the army. Multiple combat deployments. Even after retiring he still works and costly travels. He simply doesn't know how to stand still

I really hope I can say someday that I have been a thousand places and that I’ve shook a million hands, because for every one of that million, I will have met an incredible person who has enriched my life

I don't do much but I list to music bc I have Anxiety and Depression which makes it hard on me and along with hearing Disability but I try and do things and keep Fighting Your a Warrior.
