@@alaincelos476 It's not so simple to just answer why. They didn't destroy Poland, they partitioned it together with Prussia & Russia removing Poland from maps for over 100 years. It's a long story & I am not a history teacher to tell that story here. Maybe someone else will make a summary for you.

The end was already started for Ottoman Empire in that time. Even the city was conquered Ottomans did not have enough power to hold the walls for so long.

A bit BS map you used. The Austrian defenders were confined to the the old city of Vienna (todays first district within the fortifications. The map has them much further out, even on the other bank of the danube - esentially the modern limits of the city. The outermost positions that are shown here are actually the staging areas for the relieve attack by the Imperial and Polish armies.

@@user-yi9pw3mc1g Hahahaha, no. Just read the history of the siege - maybe on Wikipedia or something. The Imperial army arrived, the battle started at 4:00 AM and raged until noon, the Viennese garrison sallied forth from the city under Eugen of Savoy etc. At 4:00 PM, the Poles arrived at the outskirts of VIenna and at 6:00 PM - when the battle had lasted for 14 hours, the Poles eventually charged the exhausted Ottomans.

Ottomans were already outgunned by the Europeans since the end of 16th century so they relied heavily on numerical superiorities without quality. One of the result was during this battle of vienna

The casualties is around 40-60k its usually thought siege casualties were around 40-50k since it was a siege against a great fortress with huge amount of guns. Attackers always will lose more then defenders. The relief coalition army of 12 Christian countries was impossible to hold back. So another 10-15k casualties there.

With the exception of the First Crusade, all the Crusades ended in failure and the Christians lost, and the Crusaders were defeated by the Ottomans in the battles of Varna and Nicopolis. Both Muslims and Christians won some battles and lost some battles.
