Great comparison!! I prefer the Curl Maker side. While the Curly Magic is definitely better on the pockets, the Curl Maker definitely smells better & gives better hold.. neither make my hair look shiny but I definitely think the Curl Maker has a little more sheen!

I love the Camille Rose on you better because that definition is craazy 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎

I love UFD. I don’t use it alone though. It is used as a leave in or right after a leave in. I then I apply one of my favorites (Miche Beauty’s Sculp Curl Defining Gel or Obia’s Naturals Curl Enhancing Custard or any Curl Mix gel or TGIN’s Miracle RpairX MiraCurl Styling gel) for more hold as a topper gel I use I Create Hold by Innersence or JelloShot by Ecoslay. My tried and true ride or die combos. Curls last all week. I wash my hair 7-10 days after styling.

Loved your thorough video of these two products. I wanted to love the Camille Rose Curl Maker, but every time I use it my hair flakes. It’s an ingredient I can’t pinpoint, but it must be included in all of their styling products because ALL of her styling products make my hair flake. I absolutely love how the Camille Rose styled my curly hair, but because of the flaking I’ve been using the Uncle Funky’s Curl Maker.

Great video...I love the Curl Maker side the best but both sides look great, can't go wrong with either product.

Now you have me going back to Camille Rose...I've been using Uncle funky daughter...and I'm with you both are really good...but the Camille Rose side has more shine...and now that you said it has move control...I better go back with Camille rose for the Humid weather here in Florida for Summer...Thank you @curlyguy for your break down of these two products, cuz I was having a hard time trying to decide between the two..

I definitely prefer the Camille Rose over the UFD. The formulation of the UFD seems to be different than prefer bottles I bought. Camille Rose is it for me. It also plays well with other gels if you want a harder hold plus you can't beat that shine.

@@reeshamiller8869 I knew it! My sister and I both had the same experience with UFD. It was just like putting shampoo on the hair drying to a complete mess. My sister loves the Mielle pomegranate and honey line while I rock with the Camille Rose signature line.

@@moni9192 I have always been a UFD fan. I could get a full 7 days out of my wash and go. Recently I’ve only been able to get 2-3. The glycerin is the culprit!!! Why would they do this? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Love a good versus Excellent idea putting the liquid leave-in in the mister. I have to do with with my spray leave-ins I liked a Camille Rose side the best! The shine, the definition, the hold. UFD was giving the volume. This was good

Your hair doesn’t look very wet prior to application but it might be, your results came out great. I use UFD Curly Magic and my hair is used soaking wet. I love love UFD Curly Magic.

I don’t know if you can see this in person but the Camille Rose side looks shinier on camera. I’ve used both. Currently using the Uncle Funky…but planning to make a switch to Pattern. So expensive but I’ll pay any amount for the right thing. And I’ve noticed in the last year that my hair is looking/feeling dry dry dry.

UPDATE??? You mentioned you were experiencing dryness and would be moving to more moisturizing lines was wondering what you settled on and whether your hair is still dry.

That UFD was moisturizing but it flakes so bad, and gives me no hold. I wanted to like it so bad.

I don’t know if it’s just me over using the Camille Rose gel but even mixed with a leave in I still got a lot of gummy flakes(not sure what you call that)

They are botanical gels and they are usually moisturizing

UFD is going to be more moisturizing because it can hold more water in the hair than CR. Also, UFD has a stronger humectant.

I don't really like some of the Camille rose products unfortunately. It makes my hair (3c/4a, mostly 3c) feel grainy and not soft. I hate the honey leave in conditioner. >< I've never tried Uncle Funky though.

Camille rose looks more moisturized, soft, and juicy. Other side looks frizzy .

i prefer UFD over CR but love promoting black owned products.
