I was made in the 70s, but love the 50/60s and the 80s, respect the 70s. I was more into hard&heavy, glam&power that days. Didn't like Grunge and large part of the 90s. Loved power and symphonic of the 00/10s. Today would rather go for flamenco, fusion, blues and jazz, but if to talk about heavy stuff, then one must admit that some melodic prog/math, melodic death instrumentals aren't that bad either nowadays and some are even great. Love melody, dislike that primitive noddling around zeroes-ones-twos. Love the whole guitar&audioengineering history starting from the 19th century being hobbyist luthier&sound pickups designer (hobbywise) myself. Peace to all, good luck and Rock-n-Roll!

A significant portion of riffs played in this video were simply less sophisticated, less melodic and less catchy. One could even say, just some primitive strumming and octaves. The 80s were perfect in terms of technical complexity/melodicity balance with less pentanoddling (or more reasonable) than in the 70s, yet more interesting than almost any stuff after 93 (subjective feeling).

My Chemical Romance openly ape Queen and even got Brian May to play with them live. Foo Fighters... well, you could make a feature-length supercut of classic rock covers/collaborations they've done live and still be missing MANY. Not to mention they have more than a full CD's worth of recorded covers ("Medium Rare" which wasn't able to fit everything, plus more were released after it). Green Day were openly discussing how they were trying to emulate both the Who (whom they'd previously covered on "Kerplunk!") and Queen with the "American Idiot" album, not to mention their numerous live classic rock covers. Tenacious D... the sheer number of parody live covers alone proves their worship of the old-school rock. Add to that the songs "Dio" and "Tribute" as well as getting Dio and Meat Loaf for their movie, plus their charity cover of "The Time Warp" and their charity medleys of Beatles and Who tunes... PLUS Jack Black's characters in "High Fidelity" and "School of Rock"... Yeah. Then of course, the Darkness are actively a glam rock/hair metal revival act. And also Led Blimp... I mean Greta Van Fleet...
