Agreed. It's certainly not for everyone. Funnily, even for me, how much I appreciate the sound changes depending on what phase of treble tolerance I am going through, lol. But if you can get used to it, it's a unique treat.

I would agree with everything you've said except I'd flip flop the sets. The U12T is awesome but it bores me after a month or so. I never tire of the a8000. Textures are amazing on both.

This is kind of a weird question, but how would you compare the soundstage between the Final A8000 and the Hifiman Arya? I own and love the Arya and am desperately looking for an IEM equivalent to it.

Hi the A8000 is closer to a Focal Utopia. Sound stage is decent, but I wouldn't say it's the Arya equivalent-IEM. However, I did A/B between the two, and the A8000 gives you more resolution and clarity, but the Arya gives a larger soundstage!

@@amplifyaudioreviews good to know, thanks for taking the time to test it out! Do you know of any other headphones/iems that compare to the Arya in it's type of soundstage between $2k-4k? I've been looking for an upgrade but so far it's been looking like the next step is the Susvara 😬

@@keithb5612 many good iems these days. Brands like Moondrop offer excellent earphones between $90 and $800 that sound pretty amazing (S8, Variations, Blessing 2 Dusk, Aria) Another excellent brand is Thie Audio. Again many very well tuned iems in their lineup. Their newest Oracle, Clairvoyance or Monarch are tuned as good as any top of the line earphones rivaling stuff that is priced 2-3 times higher. 200-300 they have the Legacy 4 or 5. Any Etymotic is a good option too, as long as the fit works for you. Sony ier m7 is a very good option as well. There’s many other earphones that are excellent I just haven’t heard all of them. The competition in the market is very strong right now which is very good for enthusiasts like us. The Shure se846 has good isolation, durability and fit which makes it good for stage use and monitoring. But for casual listening fall behind the newer earphones. My biggest problem with its tuning is the lack of treble extension past 10Khz.

I think it's a huge technical achievement Sajid, when a special DD type of technology makes a person choose it over a cutting edge multi BA set. Surely, the A8000 almost make your Andro '20 nearly redundant? There a used A8000 set on ebay in the UK, £1150 ($1599) and they'll struggle to sell at that price. A great deal. I'm guessing you'd likely still chose the A8000 used, over a new set of Ando's?? Not a fair comparison I know...

  • @amplifyaudioreviews

Hey, W41N, I would, in fact, choose the A8000 over the Andros! And I did. I sold the Andros a little earlier. :) The thing though is that the A8000 can be bright and difficult on poorly recorded tracks. But when it works, it's just wow. I have come to prefer that excitement, over time, rather than U12t's safe tuning (or Andro 2020's for that matter), if that makes sense. The Andros aren't also technically not quite at the A8000 / U12t level either, so that's there. Hope this helps.

@@amplifyaudioreviews Wow, cheers for that Sajid. I hadn't realised that the Andro's had gone! But from all you'd said, it seemed to me like the A8000's were doing all the Ando's did, and much more. £2,000 new is way out of my budget/comfort zone. BUT £1,000 used is not. It's vital to get an honest low-down on IEM's as they are my main way I listen to music. Plus, I really don't want to form a collection because each IEM is fundamentally flawed, if that makes sense. I'd rather have one decent set. I can tell from how you describe the A8000, that it wouldn't matter what genre is played on them - as they are clear, musical and detailed regardless. A few weeks ago I was thinking multi-drivers (like I have now) would always outshine a single driver solution. But Final obviously nailed it. I even think any drawback of the A8000, are outweighed by the positives. I'd likely hear the effects on synths for example, but it would pale compared to the other sonic benefits. Before I upgrade my Shure's I'd love to hear a comparison of the A8000 compared to the Sony Z1R, but I doubt it could be worn for more than an hour due to its weight. But I think 2 DD's+1BA could be an interesting battle for the A8000. As ever, cheers for the reply. My upgrade is one I want to research and get right first time. **From opinions I've seen, the Z1R isn't so good for male vocal balance, and the singers in the bands I follow are male vocalists. So I think the Z1R for me is kind of a non-starter.
