This might be an unpopular opinion but personally i feel like Dean was a really good boyfriend but later when Rory changed, Dean felt that he wasn't meant for her. Of course he was jealous but we cannot ignore the fact that he was right about Jess! And he was really protective of her. He did put her in a third party situation later but I'm just expressing that as Rory's first love, he was perfect.

Dean loved Rory, but he was not on her level. Rory couldn’t grow next to him. He was holding her back. She couldnt look up to him and let him lead her, and that was the biggest problem with Dean. The only boyfriend that was on her level is Logan.

For Dean's fatal flaw; I'm surprised it wasn't anything from the Donna Reed episode. For Jess's; him leaving like that, I get but why not the time he couldn't talk/nor communicate any closure with Rory? As for Logan's fatal flaw; thought it would be his womanizing. Like cheating on Rory with an entire bridal party. But I can understand that he did other bad things too, later.

Dean was a great first boyfriend. Handsome, polite, considerate and respectful. Jess was the typical troubled kid with an interest in adventure. He was pure lust, desire to play with danger. But he was NOT a dating guy. Logan was a mix of the two with additions. In addition to having the approval of the family, he was a cultured guy. They had things in common, and it was easy for them to have a long conversation about any topic. They matched PERFECTLY. So Logan was the perfect guy for Rory!

Noooo Logan was so bad he’s the reason Rory went off the rails I admit that Jess was bad at first but he became such a good guy while Rory was dealing with the mess of logan

I do not understand why Logan and Rory are such an unpopular ship. They worked so hard to be with each other and their communication was so much stronger than with Jess or dean. They always worked through their fights and because they lived eachother they didn’t let much get in the way. I think logan was easily the best boyfriend ( for her at a certain time, like I think Jess and Rory later on would have been great, but I think logan was right person right time). I finished the show yesterday and with many tears I still can’t understand why she didn’t marry him. He wasn’t exactly asking her to quit her job and become a housewife like Emily. He took into consideration the places she could write close by and I’m just so so so unbelievably confused by the ending. But I’ll watch a year in the life tonight.

Kristen Ibrahim But it’s unfortunate to see a character change for the worse. Usually shows try to have character development where the person gets better as the show goes on, but Rory went in reverse and became more and more shallow. Maybe that is what the creator intended though.

In my mind Rory and Jess ended up together. They were perfect for each other. They are soulmates!!

Yes at the time of the revival, Jess was too good for Rory. She was a serial cheater, and had transformed from a sensible, responsible, grounded, and very likeable 16 year old into an entitled, spoilt, bratty, unlikeable 32 year old. i'm still sad that he doesn't told her how he feltand that she was so stupid that she doesn't realised or listend to dean when he told her that he had thing for her. it might went diffrent😳

Dean was so smart and sweet in the beginning, and once Jess entered the scene he completely lost his mind 😅 (Don't get me wrong, I'm team Jess all the way, but I kinda understand why Dean went crazy)

Dean cheated on his wife and Logan was a reckless playboy. They both may have genuinely cared even loved Rory, but those would have been red flags if it was me. Jess was angry and rude for the most part, which would have been a red flag for me, but when he returned as a hard working, more level headed it complicates things for me. On paper, how do you now give him a second chance, when he really has become so worthy, but all of the past trauma would be hard to forget. Dean mirrored her wholesomeness and innocence, Jess mirrored her intelligence and creativity, Logan mirrored her family pressures and obligations.

Rory and Jesse were endgame for me after rewatching the whole show. Even if they weren't right when they were younger that scene where they meet up again and Jesse has had time to mature and find himself he was perfect guy right there. Plus I think he was the main thing that convinced Rory to go back to yale and opened her eyes.

Logan was the best, 100%. The only guy who wasn't toxic. Not as controlling and jealous as Dean, not as unreliable and destructive as Jess. Logan smiled constantly around Rory. He helped her mature, and she him. Logan was the only one Rory made a real team with. She was too much of a free spirit for Dean and too ambitious for a drifter like Jess. Logan, with all his childish faults, made her a better person and she him. He understood her, he supported her in his ambitions. Not marrying him will always be Rory's biggest mistake, imo. They complement each other well.

The same Jess that forced himself on Rory and got mad at her for it???🤨 you guys literally only like Jess bc he reads books lol… Meanwhile DEAN was always respectful of rory and her family, he did everything she ever asked him to do, he did cute spontaneous things out of the blue for her (building her a car!!), and yet HEEEE gets labeled as being jealous and possessive while rory was LEGIT cheating on him!!! & let’s not forget that Dean also read all of Rory’s books and would talk to her about them and her fav movies! He went to her school dance, the debutante ball, all the movie nights, Friday night dinner, etc bc he knew it was important to her! Also he was the CUTESTTTTT Everything Dean got upset over was 100% justified (rory shouldn’t have had lunch with Jess even though he bought her basket, she should not have let him stay over on her night alone, she should not have let him drive the car Dean built for her). The only time Dean was ever the problem in their relationship was whenever she didn’t say she loved him back, but it was because he was young and hurt. The way he handled the breakup (whole town hating him bc rory wouldn’t say what rlly happened) showed how great he was. If ppl forgive Jess for literally assaulting her bc he was “young and dumb” why doesn’t Dean get the same sympathy for a much lesser crime??🤨 also Jess’s personality is awful he’s so bitter and whiney and negative and he brings rory down so much! He disappoints her 24/7 and it’s sooo obvious he’s her Christopher (commits to her and then leaves her lol), not Dean!! Even when they were broken up and he saw that Jess made Rory cry, he immediately protected Rory. People forgive Jess for all the awful things he’s done bc he wrote a book (🙄) but won’t forgive Dean’s one mistake (which Rory was also responsible for). Dean is and will always be the better option. I don’t think Jess’s words were the trigger more what his persona symbolizes. He was Stars Hallows black sheep no one expected much from him so he mirrored that in his behavior. He then perused his passion and didn’t let other people’s opinions get to him. He was showing her that if he could do this, she can.

Bryndon Crowder he definitely wasn’t great, but he was the most like Rory. They both had a love for books, and writing. Something Dean and Logan didn’t have in common with her. And Dean was way more controlling and manipulative, even after he got married he was still trying to mess with Rory’s relationships...like c’mon your married now. Also I think Jess and Rory would have been better for each other all grown up, I mean we all saw how Jess turned his life around.

what yall dont realise is that rory is NOT lorelai. she doesnt have to follow lorelai's "independent" path, which mostly consisted in hella commitment issues, and neither does she has to stay away from the "rich life" if that's what makes her happy. i'm beyond sure that the writters wanted to make jess the luke, logan the chris and probs dean was just around there, but they also highlighted perfectly how similar lorelai was to emily- she couldnt stand the idea of her daughter following a different social path from hers. and honestly i think that the main reason why rory didnt accept logan's proposal was that her mom was there and she always hated logan, because he was "like them". "like her parents". rory and logan could've had it all, they loved eachother so so so so much, the only (and huge) difference between the relationships of lorelai and emily/rory and lorelai was that lorelai was always against emily. rory loved her mom too much to upset her and she also had the idea of the life that her mom pictured for her stuck into her head. the "independent" dream.

The last couple seasons I believe weren't by the Paladino's (original writers) since ABC or what ever wanted to cut it short an they didn't want that so they dropped out of the show an the writers that had been on the team since the beginning continues it. Then the Netflix series is what they actually wanted the season to end like with a few tweaks of course.

100% Dean. I love him so much Rory was the one who ruined all relationships. But Logan was amazing too.

Dean was just that first crush and butterflies. Jess was that first real connection and real heartbreak. Logan was great fun and pushed her out of her comfort zone but then he became the comfort zone in a bad way. He wanted Rory but he never chose Rory. I love Logan but I do think they are bad for each other. Rory let him cheat on fiancé, arranged or not. Logan loved rory along for the ride or whatever path was chosen for him. Thus, never pushing Rory to actually be better and do more. Jess and Rory no matter how much time goes by always still manage to be there for each other and push the other in the right direction. They aren’t afraid to call out the others BS. I’m just not sure in the end Rory was in a place to be loved by anybody. I hope she finds her way again.

The way Jess and her connected and understand each other (several interests in common, good chemistry) I think they admired each other, their opinion was actually influential in their life. That’s why she goes back to college, she listened to him. However, he needed to mature when they first met, because he was careless with her feelings. He could have been perfect for her when he was older, great character development

Spoilers! When Dean saw Rory coming out from her grandparent's house with the boys behind her and wearing jewels you can really sympathize with him. Rory was becoming more and more priviliged and Dean was losing the Rory he fell in love with. The same thing happend to Jess and you really notice how she changed when Jess later asks her why she left Yale. Logan only knew Rory as the priviliged and slightly entitled girl that she became in Yale and maybe that's why they worked so well. Rory's character development really started to go down-hill in the later seasons. Anyway, that's just how I see it. Feel free to disagree. :)

As infuriating as Rory’s character got its actually quite realistic not all character change is for the better i personally think its her grandparents’ faults they put her on a pedestal and Lorelai didn’t exactly help.

I think Rory was always like that. Lorelei was from that world, but she was always different. She knew she didn’t belong in that world. But Rory didn’t seem to belong in the small town world. She fit in more in her grandparents world. I think her true self came out when she was exposed to that world.

1st: Logan- he was a great boyfriend to Rory as he always supported her dreams and had her back 2nd: Jess- he was a good boyfriend for teenage Rory 3rd: Dean- he was a sweet guy but he became too angry and possessive as well as CHEATED on his wife with Rory Honestly each boyfriend was great for the stage of life that Rory was in at the time
