YES!!

From years of wearing Boonie hats from a kid fishing so top of ears don't get fried to time in military. I like the True Spec and Propper Brands they used to be made in US. Water proofing or Gortex cooks your brains on hot days so that is a deal breaker for me. Plus just a fun fact if you soak the hat in water until it is totally saturated you can shape the brim how you want and let it dry thoroughly and it will hold that shape even after getting wet again... I like my Boonie but I tried on a 3 before buying mine. I like the a brim on mine for shade. Unique testing style, keep it going! Shabbat Shalom.

I love the G and P but I do wish it had the loopty loos to go with your ghillie suit. Daily use, it’s great, though. I buy from there because it is made in America and good quality! Buuuut, the loopty loos. Lol

I think I would put the Ghilly one in a go bag or my camp gear and I would put the other on my coat rack for daily use … it’s not every day I need brush cover 😂🙈🤷🏼‍♀️

I like Boonie hats. I have a question about the heat test though, were the two that came out cooler wet when you ran the test? Could convection cooling have caused the temp drop? Could be an asset in the summer to wet them in order to cool your head even though it is a detriment in the rain.

They were slightly damp! The 3rd wasn’t because it repels the water.

Ok, my opinion. Everyone has one. Made in USA is best, though there are some from the UK and Sweden that are high quality. My favorite brand, PROPPER, actual military item. Downside, unless you want to stock every size adjustability would probably be best. I mean Velcro and patches are cool, another way of customizing. I personally prefer a shorter brim, and I’d think the shorter brim would lack the sun protection so it would be a more likely candidate for the fancy scarf attachment. And with those loops 360 degrees around the hat the shemauge could be toggled to the hat so it could later be removed. That pocket on the inside is where I store the bug net that goes over the head, the brim keeps the net off my skin
