To be really honest... To my opinion this game has more soul than most modern games. There's something about it gives it great atmosphere. An atmosphere that most games are now lacking.

So true, the road to the front just show you how tiny you were in the combat, in every missions, you played with your comrades all around you, dying around you, you move, run, shoot like a normal people would do and not parkour through half Stalingrad.

This game offers a view of combat that makes you feel like a regular grunt: moving to the front lines/trench with a platoon, showing support elements, radio ops and officers working in the command post, airstrikes and enemy artillery, and a small touch is that the artillery barrage ends right before the German assault on the trench--you can hear the German officers whistle once the shells stop blasting your position and your commander orders the platoon/squad element to hold their fire until the enemy is at a better range. New age gaming is all about the next biggest thing: having the player do mission impossible stunts in impossible situations that offer as many close calls and drama as possible. You feel more like an invincible spec op unit than a grunt taking part in a battle larger than yourself.

And then the Asstivion suckers will make excuses like "if you want accuracy go watch documentary" I'm okay with CoD and BF falling, but I want something to Replace them. Someone else has to make a new fps game to replace them if they were to fall. The Industry is changing, EA is not even that bad anymore, while EA does Shuts Down other Devs/companies. Activision instead Torture and Humiliate them by using their names and forcing them, just look at Blizzard and their Warcraft

This is actual Call Of Duty .. Nothing can overlap it ..Its the just best nothing can match it.

Something about these older missions seem more realistic than the modern games they have.

I mean Vanguard is based on the Mystery of Heinrich Müller,Head of the Gestapo.Besides the first and last mission rest of backstories are all based on real Characters and Real Battles except the weapon Innaccuracies.That was a fictional story that still ended on May 1,1945 so I'm okay as a guy who loved Conspiracy theories and some of the missing Nazi Warcrimals who were never found.

@@ChandranPrema123 To be honest the first series of COD (1, United offensive, 2, WaW) are closer to reality that Vanguard ( eg. jumping on roofs when the city is bombed to dust). Vanguard has nothing to do with reality, just great graphics. I only hope that Activision will reforge those game.

I appreciate the fact that vanguard mixes up the races and genders of tue protagonist.... If it gets a few more black people or women to buy the game by checking off the list then more lower to them. You want accuracy go watch a ww2 documentary.

This immersive vibe they giving with this graphics is incredible work.

The first version of COD I had played at that time, in 2007, until now, in my opinion, still the best. I can still distinguish the sound of mp40 and mp44 in this video, that gives me a lot of memories. The best weapon in the two first COD (1 and united offensive) is surely mp44, I was very scared when facing some German soldiers using mp44 in those games. Besides, german uniforms are accurate due to history, in battle of kursk, most attack units came from waffen SS (you can see they used camouflage uniform of SS when engaged the trench), for defensive units in gas stations or factories, they were Wermarch soldiers ( with uniform is easy to realise).

I thank you for playing this, more people need to know how amazing old CoD games are

I remember playing this as a kid and being in awe of the scale of the battle and how it felt. I wish the later series did something like this.

So glad that we now have a game called Hell Let Loose. Call of duty went off the rails with anything ww2 related. Same with battlefield. The original medal of honor games did WW2 pretty good as well.

God i forgot how awesome this games felt. It's remarkable how they managed to truly make you feel small and vulnerable, like if you are just another small piece in something much bigger than. That feeling of vulnerability truly ramps up the intensity compared to the modern cod campaigns. Also love the atenttion to historical detail like the fact they Made the germans launch tactical bombings and artillery barrages before the main thrust.

Fude the into while they’re in the truck… those are my favorite openings to ww2 games. This one looks fun I wanna play it. I remember I always played this one called call of duty final fronts and that one was always fun . Medal of Honor vanguard and airborne were fun too. I’ll always cherish those games

the war atmosphere of this game is way to good

Finally! Sometimes I get sick of the fact that most of the times in Call of Duty, whatever vehicle you're in would be blown to pieces and that you need to move on foot. I'm sure it happens a lot in actual wars, but it just pisses me off sometimes when the game franchise does it often for the sake of "action". So I'm happy to see that the convoy in the beginning of this mission finally reached its destination lol.

Playing this in the PC gaming section of Fry's Electronics back in 2005. Miss those days

the Wii one is fun, though it's cut short for sure. being able to point to aim is an underrated form of input, it was actually fairly immersive and it's a shame the Wii was branded so whimsically.

I enjoy the classic shooters and i kniw this video is old but damn this guy clearly showed he didn't know what he was doing half the time and kept shooting his own guys or running out of ammo repeatedly

Fuqqed up part is the gun play and recoil patterns on some of these guns look more realistic than some of the pew pew lasers on the newer cods

When i first play this mission i thought Stalin was a brave hero and good leader, i'm not Russian i don't know their history. But after playing CoD Black Ops and hearing Reznov story when he said "But Stalin has little needs of heroes". I look on google about Stalin, he turn out to be bad - evil leader and committed a lot of genocide. At least that's what i got from google, i mean we all know that history is written by the victor.

one thing realized is the t-34's seen during the battle of kursk level are the wrong variant the ones seen are t-34/85's which did not enter service/ combat till 1944, well after the battle of kursk which took place in 1943 the t-34 variants that did see action at kursk were the 1940 models and the t-34/76

Honestly, the only inaccuracy I see with this game is that the T-34-85 was put in service in 1944, not 43

Yeah it looks like I'm watching a Russian WW2 movie from the 70s - 80s in which they only got T-34-85s at that time to make them since the 76 variants are not common to find in red army's inventory

And now, it's all about those 10 women on the Norwegian front or some other minimal area of the war. With custom weapons with red dot sights in WW2. Or some never have happened task force who single handed wins the war. Ofc starting with D-Day.... But the eastern front with normal combat units is forgotten. Sad.
