Hello everybody how are you ? I hope you are fine !!! First of all I would like to say sorry for the typographical mistake in the very first scene of the video. I am writing "LA DRANG" but the correct is "IA DRANG". Secondly, I would like to say sorry for the inaccuracies that you will probably notice while seeing the video, but don't forget that this is only a game and it's almost immposible to make an accurate movie just by using a game. I tried my best. Leave your opinion to the comments section but try to be gentle. Any harsh, violent or inappropriate comment will be immediately removed from the comments section. Have fun and stay tuned for the next machinima. Cheers !!!

You can see VN troops rushing like crazy. In VN history book, this tactic call " bám lưng địch mà đánh", it means "sticking to the enemy to fighting". Cause, if they don't stick to US troops, they were destroyed by helicopter & artillery. If VN troops stuck the US, helicopter & artillery not supported US troops. So, to do that, VN troops must be very brave.

North Vietnam used the 2 strategy are: (Đánh điểm diệt viện )"hitting points to destroy the reinforcements" and ("nắm thắt lưng địch mà đánh") and "Hold the enemy's belt and fight" hold. The goal is to be proactive on the battlefield and minimize casualties from US bombs and artillery. Target is disable helicopter maneuvering tactics.

i read the book, " we were soldiers then, and young". it's author spent about 12 years piecing together the story of the battle at the ia drang valley by interviewing many survivors, from both sides. it recounts the training, buildup, deployment, the campaign, contact in the valley, and most often avoided ambush afterwards. one of the best book reads i ever had. well done flawless and to all others that participated in this machinima. you captured the essence of the book by covering infantry, artillery, air, courage and horror. and most importantly, capturing the vietnamese story as well as the american's. well done soldier! well done!

@@RyanThaLion1 (Short version) - The battle is tied in with another larger operation. And if you count for the whole operation, it is pretty much a division vs division level (or at least, each side had roughly 3 regiments, but the US and ARVN had a fuck ton of air cover and heavy firepower) - The Ia Drang itself is a regiment vs regiment, and arguably speaking, both sides are new to the battlefield. But the US side is fresher (the Vietnamese units just finished a full march on foot from the northern region) - The battle consists of two sub-battle. LZ X-ray (where the US is able to repulse to assault of Vietnamese) and Albany (where one battalion of the US lost roughly half of their number due to an ambush). The movie there only talked about 1 battle. 2 guess for you which one they talk about - Speaking of the movie, someone said that the movie has the ending remade per "desire" of the US gov, ending with the US troops counter-charge and wipe out a full division. Within the context of 2002, 1 year before the invasion of Iraq, this makes a lot of sense

There were only 50,000 casualties of American soldiers compared to over million North Vietnamese and Vietcong’s. Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese wanted so badly to be an ally of the US. Hell, the OSS had worked with them very closely to fight the Japanese during the Second World War and Ho Chi Minh himself was so happy to allow the OSS agents to be some of the first people to see his draft of the Vietnamese constitution to declare independence from France, as he saw Vietnam's plight to be similar to that of Colonial America. In fact, he was such a fan of the U.S. that he modeled their constitution directly on that of the U.S.. Yet, have after all that, the U.S. decided to choose to appease France over Vietnam's freedom... After the U.S. turned its back on Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh decided that his only real chance at independence was to accept help from the Soviets, 2 wars in Vietnam followed and the rest was history... Had we only took the time to look at Vietnam and see ourselves who were fighting for our own independence some 200 years earlier. Think of all the lives that could have been saved on all sides of the French and American wars in Vietnam...

Would anyone else love a Jack Ryan style house raid with a suppressed pistol or something? I wish he would make something like that.

Very real and intense. Discribes the horrors of war from both sides. No Hollywood or the rock bullshit style movies. I give it two thumbs up..
