2 plays into the first duel I just watched sam crash mystic tomato, followed by newdoria into a card with 3500ATK, forcing himself to lose cards in his hand - when he could have quite literally just set the tomato face down and got the same result without losing all those lifepoints and cards? jesus christ the second hand embarrassment I just got.

Rhyme definitely skipped GX😅. Ra got it's own episode in GX called: Ra,Ra,Ra! The gods were also sealed for continuity to his beloved original anime and gave their names to the three dorms. Heck there was even a poster of Slifer in the red dorm that Cyrus Truesdale prayed to for his successful promotion to Ra yellow, while wearing a crown of monster reborn cards.😅 The gods had plenty of presence in GX despite being long sealed for Atem to move on prior. Yugi's battle city deck even makes an appearance in the hands of copycat duelist Dimitri. The old anime had plenty of fan service in GX, you just actually had to look and listen carefully.😅

@@rhymestyle the point being missed in regards to the Ra episode is that a false body conjured the REAL spirit of the God. Pegasus himself says so. Pegasus is a gen 1 character so you should be happy to see him successfully recreate a god card in the future and the new protagonist gets to wield it. Like Yugi did. You said you wanted to see the gods in GX and one got through Ra.

As someone who grew up on YGO DM, I gotta say 5D’s was actually peak from the 4 series I actually saw

So I will always love the original yugioh, however gx holds a special place in my heart! My nan who unfortunately passed from cancer used to watch it with me, every morning before I go to school I would have cereal and chuck on some yugioh gx! My nan never really understood what it was and neither did I the monsters just looked awesome, for me gx is slightly better just because of the nostalgia

If you are playing old school yugioh it is all about the 1 or 2 card set then pass turn, because the card combos are not there. Compared to the massive 25 card first turn cards combos there is in the current decks

I grew up watching og yughioh. i skipped gx(kinda didnt know it existed until teen yrs) watched part of 5Ds but ZEXAL is what got me to actually play. more specifically Number Monsters. it has always been (and still is) my goal to collect all 107 Numbers. ive yet to watch anything past, mostly due to time but i heard Arc v is pretty cool(plus odd-eyes is my favorite Ace monster) as to which ones my favorite.....hrrrm hard to say but im leaning towards 5ds and og.

I mean not all 107 Number monsters have been released. In plus there is more than 107. There is Number XX, Fake 1-4, Numbers 0-107, and Number 1000. So there's a lot, and not to mention the Shining and Chaos forms. As well as the F forms as well.

We watch GOAT format because it's slower than modern yugioh and that's a *good* thing. When I see people setting and passing while under GB/ODoP/LLA-B/Thousand-Eyes Restrict and other floodgates, all I see is them storing up their power while they draw the out so they can explode out the gate once they do. It reminds me of when Yugi fueled Arkana and they were both just setting cards with their Dark Magicians on the field and then did like a chain link 10 with all the backrow. It was hype as fuck.

Tbh it’s not as bad if you can build a deck without restrictions. I just think in a draft mode where you could get zero back removal it’s not healthy

Royal Decree is perfectly fine in my books. The duel where he flipped that and just shut down Rhyme had me very happy. Gravity Bind on the other hand is really annoying.

I'm perfectly fine with Royal Decree, it's like having mirage dragon or jinzo on the field. Magic cylinder, torrential, and sakuretsu being a constant threats also can bring the duel to a crawl if your opponent is actively trying to play around them so gravity bind is only an issue in these fuels if there's no counter play to it imo.

Sam not reading his own cards, really has me asking so many questions about what he's actually seeing. Like, bro, i don't know if this was a bit or not but you clearly say with your own eyes that that is not the case, lmao

Og yugioh is what I grew up with and for a nostalgic reason I'd put it at number 1 but most of 5ds story makes it my number 2

I think rhymes right to an extent the level of play and back and forth excitement but there are also moments where it’s a complete Domination based on who got lucky and who didn’t but i think gravity bind and royal decree was a sick call because it leaves you wonder can he get out of this ohhh that’s crazy it requires specific moments which are cool so it’s like half and half

Well that’s all the YGO anime really was if you think about it. The pharaoh sacked his way through every single win. It’s all about drawing those power cards and setting up your board then making your opponent play into them, but floods essentially takes a whole chunk of the game OUT. When it’s a flood situation, you shut your opponent out so you can set up your win then it’s just one sided. Now in a normal format, you can prepare for it and just draw the out but in drafting you don’t get to draw the back row removal cuz you never had it to begin with. Thats why I think it makes it uninteresting However I will also say in this situation, it def was funny.

@@rhymestyle that’s truuue but i think the interesting difference is the pharaoh was on some bullcrap just seeing his actual deck compared to others it’s terrible like kaibas deck is much better and if the anime was real a lot of duels would be one sided old yugioh is more like a slow build up to an avalanche which can sometimes happen instantly with a simple monster with 1700 or more attack and can create a one sided showing with no chance for the opponent to retaliate with bad draws hell you can have moments where you’re playing defensively for two turns against your opponent and then all of sudden banish light banish dark and boom the game has either essentially been won or tables turn and its ggs that’s an oversimplification but still and old yugioh can have amazing back and forths more so sometimes than modern yugioh I agree floodgates in modern Is more foreseeable and managed while in old it isn’t as easily prepared for especially in this format and can slow down momentum A lot and can be very lame but i also like chances for more of a back and forth more of a puzzle to discover what can be done to out this like in a fighting game your opponents in the corner the pressure is crazy you’re gunna win boom dp and they zone a bit and I HATE HATE ZONERS or keep you out with long pokes but in situations like this man watching moments like this in evo or any tournament it’s like bruh it’s like how moments like Evo moment 37 happened LETSGOJUSTTINN everybody couldn’t stand chun li because of her and that super but daigo had one of the most iconic comebacks of all time so fire and can be sick or when they trading blows back and forth it’s tense how does he get out this but still agree floodgate can be lame and take a chunk 😂 love your content man you’re doing amazing stuff♥️
