Battle Brothers Tip and Tricks - A Guide to trading and making Money and Gold
Ойындар
Today's Tale is all about tips and tricks i have learned from playing the early access beta of Battle Brothers.
In this tips and tricks video I talk about how best to make gold and money in battle brothers. I also talk about what to look out for on the map and how to trade while you are completing other contracts.
Battle Brothers is a turn based strategy RPG mix which has you leading a mercenary company in a gritty, low-power, medieval fantasy world. You decide where to go, whom to hire or to fight, what contracts to take and how to train and equip your men in a procedurally generated open world campaign. Do you have what it takes to lead them through bloody battles and to victory? The game consists of a strategic world map and a tactical combat layer. On the world map you can freely travel in order to take contracts that earn you good coin, find places worth looting, enemies worth pursuing or towns to resupply and hire men at. This is also where you manage, level up and equip your Battle Brothers. Once you engage a hostile party the game will switch to a tactical map where the actual fighting takes place as detailed turn based combat.

You started with 5351 Gold and after the trade you had 5268 Gold. So it seems trading alone, doesnt cover your expenses.

Also he have 14 brothers, probably at decent level so they might be expensive, but yeah, I think the trade is just for extra money and not the main thing, at least if you don't start as a caravan

It really depends on the seed too. seeds can have really great and lucrative trade loops others have garbage and all sorts in between.
I found a nice tip is to keep 1 direwolf pelt in your bag as it will usually show you the relative buying power of the town you are visiting. If it's selling for 37 or more than that means most items you sell (apart from special items that the town makes like copper bars) will sell pretty well. If the price is lower for the direwolf pelt than items tend to sell for less. So i usually try to sell goods and scavenged items to towns that are willing to buy the direwolf pelt for 37+. I hope that makes sense.

Try ghoul fang, base price is 100 while pelt is 200

I use wooden flail for same purpose. Under 50, best to hold off, 50-60 entering good sell price but usually left to offloading when needing more space, 60 and higher is ideal.
Hey Guys, personally just keep 1 item thats worth 100gold. that gives you the Percentage of what you are selling for I.E. 100g shield selling at 20 = 20%... anything above 21 is great! best ive had is 23. I suggest stock pilling supplies and checking this every time you enter a market place.

I always just keep one of the ghoul teeth things(200g), but it really doesn't matter. You just need any consistent item that you can use as a baseline. Even something that is totally irregular, once you've established a high and low price baseline with it you'll know.
Such a good guide. Finally not broke 🙌
Very good guide thanks
Ty for the video, can you also make a guide on best stats to look out for when hiring the min/max brother?

Gonna upload one for you in the next day, but the easy answer to this is for front line brothers you want Melee Skill, Melee Defense and Fatigue to be as best as possible. For archers you want Range Skill, Range Defense and Fatigue For the Battle Standard Bearer you want Range Defense, Fatigue and Resolve, but so he isn't terrible in a fight you can also increase his Melee Skill
Everything in your current game seed is, apparently, "old".
The flavour text says that "travelling merchants will pay a decent price for it". Is there a way to trade with travelling merchants out of town?

I tried and was FORCED to kill them all. Needless to say the Lords were upset 😁
Your enemy NPC locations are marked with red. how did you do that? I have 50 hours now and didn't know this was possible.
at the starting, i think the best price is always 1/5 of the worth value right ? i get sometimes item that worth 1000 but i never find town that buying more than 200g :(
thank you for good tip~
how long does it take for the shops to repop items usually after you purchase the trade goods?

James Petty From my experience, around 3-4 days approximately... if you want a full 3 stack resource refill (if the place had a dye works and I bought all 3, I’d have to wait around 3-4 days before I could buy a full stack of 3 again). Although it would take 3-4 days, resource DO trickle into the inventory of the town/city slowly, day by day, so after a day or two of waiting, you could have maybe 1-2 of given resource refilled. NOW, if you’re talking about things like an armourer, weaponsmith, or kennel, then every 4 days I believe it restocks.
its funny how you pronounce the german towns :D

Lol I am terrible at names, if i cant figure it out, suddenly they get a whole new crazy name.........
It's understandable that weapons and provisions will be cheaper where they are produced but it makes no sense that cities will give you more money for stuff they are already making. It should be the small villages giving you better prices for almost anything because most of them don't produce anything at all. Another stupid thing is the market selling cheaper than the armory or weaponsmith which probably sells that stuff to the market.

Then again, the armour sold on the market may have been preowned or stolen to justify the cheaper price. And in regards to villages the reasoning might have been that the peasants were almost always poorer than the burghers and so can't afford to pay better prices even if they might need the items more, not to mention there's a higher volume of potential customers in a large city than a small village.

Its pretty legit that small villages dont have that much money.. and ofc weapon and armour smiths give better prices because they got more demand
i cant get this to work for me? tops you make like 300-400 gold if you sell 3-4 bags of salt in the right place? is it better late game or something? im pretty new to it. have not gotten past day 20 on veteran.

The sooner, the better. If you ever find a city with a high valued item (gems are the top tier) make sure you make every contract available in that village. They will like you (press R and check relations), and sell stuff cheaper, meaning bigger profits. Try to make a circuit, lasting around 4 days and you can run around the map for a week or two, tackling missions for each town while buying stuff cheap. The whole point of trading is to accelerate your late game, so the sooner you save money and start trading, the better.

making 400 gold profit, just by trading optimally is plenty, no?
I’ve never played a game like this before this shit is NOTHING like final fantasy tactics
Hey nice for making a video, but noticed you didn't mention anything about the buffs/debuffs for the towns that actually make it worthwhile to do what you showed. What you showed was like 70g per item you bought, but traveled over a day and ended up paying your men (every afternoon they are paid) which makes it so not worth it. I would suggest remaking a video that showed correct information and try to simplify it instead of rambling lol. Either way +1 for attempting because not many videos out for this game yet just want to help it be the best it can be :) Peace!

Hi Chris, yeah I actually do a better job of showing real trading in my current lets play, I do want to redo this one as the buff / debuff for the cities can make a big difference to profit margins, will probably end up doing a part 2 of trading :)

yeah also citys will give the best selling prices if they dont have debuffs and dont produce, stone forts lower, wood forts even lower and the towns will give the lowest prices
1.13 - hey! I’m from that “crappy little town” 😡
Lol I had a friend who play this game like it was a stock market. Mostly traded, avoided most battles . He was rich af and had an amazing lay of the (seed) land

There's a "build your own stronghold" mod on Nexus, where you can build shops and the like.
