Excellent video. I was at the Ngorongoro crater last year (November 2008) on my first ever safari. I love the cape buffalo. They came right up to the top of the crater to graze right outside the hotel window. They are huge. Your video brought back lovely memories.

this proves how tough buffalos really are. that wasnt even a large buffalo. It had a huge mail lion with a choke locked in for a while and was still able to hang on and survive.

How are lions cowards? I would say 2 members attacking a herd of buffalo, forcing most of them to run away, and then focusing their attack on one buffalo makes them both courageous and clever. And how is it cowardice when 200, 1 ton buffalo come charging at you and only at the last second did the male let go cowardice?

Could have done without the queer music, but otherwise a great video. Buffalo really do stick together and protect each other very well. I wish they would go on the offensive more often against Lions though.......just in this video alone, if the herd was smart enough to surround the lions and then just all converge onto them at once and trample and gore them, the lions wouldnt have a prayer of surviving.

@alaloka This is the beauty of nature. Lions are highly intelligent. Sure we root for the underdog but lions are doing exactly what the buffalo are designed to do, SURVIVE. Anybody has a problem with lions eating animals can blame God for that. Carnivores help nature keep the balance. As for being a coward, seriously? Their instinct is to survive, not reenact Bravehart. If a human tried to stand ground holding a knife against an army, I wouldn't think "brave", I'd think "stupid".

The lions did'nt NEED to be brave. All god wariors flie to fight another day if it is'nt very important to stop or delay the enemy. Only then it make sence to stand and fight. If the lions were protecting their cubs you would probable see a different outcome, at least a good fight.

Lions dont typically kill buffalo for sport. They were hungry but got their asses kicked by the buffalo and ran off like the pussies we know they are. When buffalo stick together like this video and battle at kruger, lions dont stand a chance in hell.
