BATTLE ANALYSIS: Pocket vs Menno at Red Bull BC One 2015 // .stance

.stance analysis on the battle between Pocket vs Menno at Red Bull BC One 2015 featuring Dyzee
With Dyzee's help, we analyze some of the Red Bull BC One battles. A few things:
- yes, we would love to get more people involved. But with everyone in different parts of the world and the immediacy of these videos, I felt having a friend like Dyzee, who was at the event, analyze the battles would be beneficial.
- these are just concept videos done at home to help the viewers understand the judging results. The judging decisions are final, we are just helping viewers understand them.
If you like these, there are more coming! Ideally I would love to be at the event, with a separate studio space to do an official post-analysis. I feel having the time to look back and think is much more beneficial than explaining everything in livestream realtime.

    not sure why the immediate hate, but i def appreciate the existence of this video series. I think it definitely helps up and coming / young bboys to take a peak into the minds of world class bboys like dyzee and how they view battles from their perspectives. To me, this is knowledge. I look forward to more vids of this series in the future.

    +Joseph Peng ha, thank you. Sometimes when we put out educational videos to help the community, there are a few that are just bitter and always rejecting of any kind of insight. We gotta keep moving forward and improve. Those hating are the ones holding this dance back and why hip hop hasn't been respected among the general public.

    +Kay Jay (케이제이) IMHO, Killa Koyla matched El Niño in dynamics and foundation, beat him in dynamics, originality, and musicality. His battle attitude also won for me because his freezes were in the right direction he started and finished strong, and he responded in turn to el ninos moves by showing he could do them too, but had more than just flare, airfare, mill, swipe, head spin combos

    Very nice analysis. I like how you prefaced the video with information to make the intentions of your video and analysis clear, leaving little, if any, to be misunderstood or misinterpreted. I thought the analysis was thoughtful, objective, fair, and clear/simple. Thanks for the video! Salamat, Dyzee!

    But that's one thing you can't judge is ENERGY.You can't feel total energy only by watching the battle if you wasn't there, that's a good point of view. If you see a battle of foundantion, execution, etc , it's ok. And many judges has A LOT of ways to judge by their experience and their perspective "what is bboying". Anyway, everyone can see the battle and comment their thoughts by their own perspective. NICE VIDEO, keep working on your good job ;)

    Do you think that the powermove of pocket dont have originality? it is more easy to make “Originalty“ in footworks that in Powermoves and tricks!

    Just want to point out Pocket's power has musicality. All of his movements are on beat where as many other bboys just throw down their powermoves as if there were no music at all. I do agree that bboys who mainly do power lack the dancing aspect, but in pockets case, he is dancing to the beat with his power.

    oh extraordinary love completely Stance, thank you very much for adding subtitles in Spanish, for the community of Central and South America, most do not have the opportunity to speak English, it will be a great support knowledge to the Hispanic community, I hope therefore continue to maintain a great job communicating knowledge, I hope so always follow subtitling, I'll share with my people. Regards.

    Hey, whoever is the video editor, what do you think if you include the music when cutting to the battle? keep it soft as background sound so it's not so empty and the audience can also get a feel of the music on the replay.

    Situations like these are a HUGE reason why many breakers aka bboys and bgirls don't really care for KZread these days. Most people who's comments display extreme negativity and ignorance has never even been to a jam, doesn't understand or respect the art form. What you see in the videos is not even half of what you see if you go to a jam. It would be EXTREMELY hard to find breakers talking shit in these comments because they are actually at these jams, they are training, teaching, collaborating and traveling. It is disappointing, discouraging and obnoxious to see a bunch one-sideed, closed minded people rip on and try to discredit people doing things they couldn't accomplish in their dreams. Then we have legendary breakers and judges who love and live this art, take time to try and open our eyes and mind. Some of them have be breaking longer than half of us been alive and people are still being shitty. Even if you don't like a style or a certain breaker the least you could do is research this stuff. You're online anyway, look it up, learn something before you start publicly shitting out extreme stupidity . And I PROMISE no one will make fun of you for actually knowing what the fuck you're talking about. Or at least post some videos of you doing better.

    Foundation is what made you the beginning the core so to say someone that does power has no foundation is blasphemy. that is his condition people who do power that is their foundation that's what they start with you can't tell them that their foundation with they love and how they express themselves is not valid. power. Started because quote unquote Foundation could not take it to the next level.

  • @JuanHZK

    @JuanHZK

    8 жыл бұрын

    +fsfsfsfsfsfsg I believe foundation is whatever a bboy decides to have as his own to go off of and express himself. if he/she wants to acquire knowledge of where Bboying started or where Bboys back then bit dance moves from the 30s 40s 500 etc... is up to them. History is important but what one chosen to have as a foundation should not be taken away or discredited. the foundation that many choose to go off of nowadays is a foundation with creativity and move that a few boys did not have the ability to invent or evolve into. this is an ever-evolving culture and the foundation continues to evolve also.

  • @JuanHZK

    @JuanHZK

    8 жыл бұрын

    +fsfsfsfsfsfsg I understand that the old heads don't want the new gen to forget where this all started or came from or came about. it's an important part of our culture and it has evolved. in its entirety up until this very day it is all a foundation. Lil Amok, Kill, Cico, and many many others who to my knowledge, chose Power as their foundation in my opinion. They should not be discredited or told they are halfway there as a bboy cuz they don't have REAL Foundation is all I'm saying.
