Jaiswal will be unstoppable in Indian conditions, I’m not fully sold on him on green tops yet but he’s super talented. Shakeel looks a bit average I’m afraid.
Green’s going to be a sensation across formats. I hope he keeps injury free and limits his bowling to short, fast spells.

For the next big 4 Babar and Marnus already has their spots filled in my opinion. So its basically fight for other 2 spots and if Pant wouldn't have gotten injured and scored a century in last Border-Gavasker trophy he would have gotten the third spot! But sadly he is out and now has to rebuilt himself. For me next best 2 would be green and gill but both have still a way to go and Brooks with his batting style and form can always tore through opponents and get himself the spot.

TBH! ABDULLAH is just pure pure class! He scored a century in kashmir premier league where I saw him for the first time and boy he was playing some shots. Then he made his first class debut and scored a century on debut as well. In PSL, he plays for Lahore Qalanders(my fav team), also the last two time champs, he scored a magnificent half century in 2022 season semis when 2 3 wickets fell early in the innings on a SR of almost 200 with quality shots as well and turned the match on from there tbh. And aslo gives the team more often than not a good flying start and been a key component of their success in back to back seasons. His marathon innings in TESTS against AUS in Pakistan and against SRI in SRI in spinning conditions shows his full range as player and never looks shaky or rusty or ugly while doing any of this as well. MAN!! He’s some serious cricketer. Really have high hopes for him.❤

You should start this kind of video commentary on wide range of topics. You have this quality
What's your take on the full frontal assault on bowling? Run making doesnt look as hard as before.

Loved the video!! Jaiswal, Saud Shakeel and Asalanka are strong contenders too. Would love to see you make a video on the state of the old "Fab 4" and who the current Fab 4 are! I always thought Babar being off that list was insane. Even Quinton de Kock deserves a place up there!

The 3 stand out names for me are marnus brook and azam no one else is setting the world on fire with the ease at which their amassing runs especailly brook at a strike rate of 90+ and an average of 65 if that continues your looking at a steve smith and adam gilchrist combo i didn't think i'd ever see someone as talented as joe root or kevin pietersen in my lifetime again as an englishman but brook is probably as talented as both if not more so i don't see a limit to him if he continues to develop and improve plus labuschagne and babar are just freaks tbh serious run accumilators and will both average 50+ come the end of their careers

You know what els is full throttle with pant?
Harry Brooke I’m very very doubtful
Green will be the best all-rounder in the world but as an all-rounder he won't post the numbers needed to be one of the batting big heads... look at his recent Ashes in England - his bowling was fine but Marsh scored more in his first innings than green had managed in 4. I'm not sure about Labuschagne either Jarod Kimber has an interesting video about him being the luckiest batter in world cricket and that his returns in 2023 are actually not a blip but him returning to his mean. I'd agree with you on Gil & Brook and i'd add Babar Azam & Pant - if he stops keeping permanently.

Brook is going to get figured out by bowlers on major tours to India & Australia. I don’t think England have a batter in line to take over from Root when he retires. England need to invest in a quality no-4 to take over Root in the long game.
My fab-4: Gill, Pant, Babar, Green. Honorable mentions: Labuschagne, Head, Brook, Keegan Peterson.
Dude Where's The Hellboy Travis Head
Davind Bedingham
Babar is the Big one right now without anydebate
I WAS ALREADY COMMENTING HOW CAN YOU NOT INCLUDE BABAR... i got trolled..
Yeah, I assume that the Gill selection was part of the satisfying India (money) that everyone does. Considering that India has no other sports and cricket isn't even the 3rd choice for most Aussie sportsmen, I'm amazed that there are 2 on the list. Pant...hmm.

Gill is the next big thing. His record has been phenomenal in the Limited over cricket. Marnus and Babar are probably too old to get into the next big 4 list at this stage. When the phrase was originally coined by Martin Crowe, all of Root, Virat, Kane and Smith were 23-25 years old and they were meat to be the future of test cricket for the next 10 years constantly rotating who was world number 1. Gill and Brook I can see as the two leading batters of the next generation. Abdullah Shafique a bit further behind, Cam Green I’m still a little more skeptical about. The honourable mentions not near the discussion I think. But really I don’t think the big 4 is mantle that’s going to be passed down from generation to generation, I think it was a one time thing where the stars aligned and gave us these 4 batters for the 4 best test sides in the world who perform at such a high level that it’s almost impossible to follow

That's not how the Big 4 term works. As another commenter mentioned, they have to be in the same age group. It's not just about the averages. Even if Babar ends up with statistics that surpass the present Big 4, he still won't be a part of that group. The age difference is far too big. Babar will keep playing until 2033 if he maintains good fitness. Kohli, Smith, Root, and Williamson will probably not play beyond 2027. Maybe Root can, being the youngest. It's better to put him in a separate Big 4 category than add him here.

Isn't Conway 32 years old
I know you're an Aussie but Rachin Ravindra deserves to be on this list.
THe moniker of the "Big 4" was that they were identified at a relatively young age that they would all have the following characteristics before the end of their careers: > #1 Test Bat rank > Captain their side > Average 50 Smith was identified basically after one century at The Oval, Williamson was found out of a country whose population is smaller than some Hong Kong apartment blocks, Joe Root at the time had a good series against NZ, and one and a half innings against Australia (might I add, all at home), Kohli was the only one who had "sure thing" written on him at the time, given his exploits at the IPL and what he did to Sri Lanka in Hobart in 2012. All this before they turned 24. At this stage, Shafique, Brook, Gill and Rachin Ravindra is probably the list (even though Ravindra has only come good in this WC). I don't think Green will ever average anywhere near 50 (they'll build a statue in Perth CBD if he finishes a decade long Test career averaging with 41 and 31 with bat and ball respectively), Brook and Gill are unlikely to be full-time term captains (Pope and probably Iyer are the next captains) it is likely they will see themselves as mercernaries or hired guns, even by their own national teams, a la Warner or QDK, and I'll admit to not knowing enough about Shafique to provide any meaningful or productive commentary, but his numbers suggest he is a very promising young talent. Pant, Marnus with the unpronouncable surname have both aged themselves out of the conversation unforuntately, otherwise with Babar and Head could have been the next half-decades' "Big 4", they should already be right in their peak considering their age profile. And could we stop it with the Babar Azam worship. He has largely been proven out to be a product of Pakistani social media hyperbolic propoganda and batting pitches that might as well be Flinders Street.
Harry Books is better than both of the Aussies
